When I post reviews about different establishments, they are typically positive. Sadly, my visit to this particular location not only left me unsatisfied as a customer, but also quite offended. My family and I have shopped here for years because of the close proximity to our home. To my surprise, I figured this was a one-time occurrence involving poor customer service, but after reading the past reviews (on google maps) that have been identified and left unresolved, I doubt that me or my family will continue to shop at this location. Yes, the store does offer a military discount which is nice. However, coming back from a 3 year tour overseas and feeling stereotyped as a thief was disappointing. The gentlemen I encountered watched me profusely while I was in the store. I'm not sure if it was because I appeared to be really young, Im a female, or maybe because he only likes a certain style of clothing, who knows.. Since I have been away I was shopping for a lot of items to finish working on my car. I had a (clear) plastic bag with me at the time that had a buffer in it so I could locate the appropriate size cloth I needed (a female helped me with that when I first came in & was helpful). However, out of habit, I was about to place an item in my plastic bag thinking I had a basket because Im the type of person who goes to buy a few items and will walk out with an entire grocery store. I immediately realized within five inches that it wasn't and *didn't* open the bag. Right away, the gentlemen who had been eyeing me down the entire time approached me and asked if he could place the items that were in my hand on the counter. I said sure and proceeded to shop. I'm not sure if he expected me to check out right away, but I was not finished looking around on the same aisle (located directly in front of the counter) and he approached me again and asked for my bag. I informed him that I was not trying to steal anything just in case he thought that and proceeded to shop again. After looking, I approached the register and pulled out my debit card that was chip enabled and he asked to see my ID. I thought this was strange because I did not say I was paying with a credit card or asked him to process my payment as credit. I gave him my military ID because I knew about the military discount and when he saw it he immediately was friendlier and started talking to me about my job. While I appreciated his amount of genuine respect for service members, I did not feel that same warm welcome when I walked into the store. I hope this review advocates for other customers leaving feeling scrutinized or insignificant and is received/heard by the owner to help fix the ongoing poor customer service issue. If not, At a minimum it will serve as a warning for potential customers. read more
