Stranded on Thanksgiving Day, needing a battery replacement. Everything else was closed except O'Reilly in Cedar Park - even Walmart was closed on Thanksgiving. We arrived to find a salesman of few words. Not rude, just not in the mood for conversation, I guess. We explained the situation, and he asked questions about the car, make, model, and year. Then he says, "The only one we have that fits that car is $290.00 plus a core charge of $29." I had already checked Walmart's prices, not realizing they had finally begun closing on Thanksgiving. The Walmart price for the same size, amp, volt, etc. battery was $179.95. So we paid the price of needing something in a holiday emergency. I expected parts houses to be more expensive than Walmart, but I didn't expect them to be nearly TWICE the price. Anyhow, we said, "Sure, we'll take it." So he rang us up, and we paid. He brought the battery from the stockroom and set it on the counter and mumbled "Thanks," and walked away. I said, "The sign says you install batteries free of charge, is that right?" He kind of grunts, "Yes." Then he went into the back again, and I wasn't sure if he was coming back or not. But after a couple of minutes, he comes back out with tools to change the battery. I am sure he was hoping we would just take the battery and leave. It took him a while to change the battery in dead silence. When he finished, he just turned around and went back into the store. I followed him, however, and when we got inside, I handed him the receipt back and said, "Now, you can refund the core charge." He took the receipt without saying a word, completed the $29.00 refund, and returned the refund and receipt without saying a word. By this time, a lady had come out of the back and was standing behind the counter also. I took the refund slip and looked at her and said "Happy Thanksgiving," to which she kind of smiled but didn't speak. After we got home, I looked at the receipt again and saw that WITHOUT ASKING -WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW IN TEXAS- an added a $4.00 "Extended warranty" to the bill! It was too much trouble to return for a refund. If it is customer service you wish, along with a battery that is priced almost double the one a mile down the street, and a hidden charge for a worthless warranty you didn't want, this is the place to go! If you're not in a jam on a holiday, then there are many other places to purchase overpriced batteries that offer a much more congenial service experience. The only really good part of this experience was that they were OPEN and we were able to get the replacement and be on our way. But I only live a few miles up the street from this store and I'll be sure to avoid it like the plague in the future. read more

I wish I got the gentleman's name who helped me today but he was so kind and wonderful! This was the second auto parts store I went to because the Auto Zone store checked my battery and told me it was time to replace it. I mentioned I had bought it roughly 2 years ago and the Auto Zone associate stated it should be under warranty but they didn't carry that brand and advised me to go to O'Reilly, hence, why I was here now. The O'Reilly associate reviewed the logs to see how long ago it was that I actually bought it and to ensure I could get it replaced it under warranty. Unfortunately, they didn't carry this battery either but he double checked my car to make sure the previous employee was being truthful about the state of the battery. After inspecting it, he noted that it was an Advance Auto Parts brand and even called the store for me before he sent me on a fool's errand. Fortunately they were in stock and he informed them he was sending me over to get it replaced. I appreciated the extra mile he went even though I didn't purchase anything! How difficult can it be to change your wiper blades? Well, I found out. First, I bought the wrong blades (Who knew). Second, my car has a rear wiper blade and even after watching several You Tube videos, I could not get the darn thing off. So, back I went and found Rob at the counter. From that point on, I was well cared for. The guy knows what he's doing and doesn't get flustered. This is the only place that I go to for anything related to my car. They can read your car's computer and diagnose problems on the spot. I have never had a bad experience here. The lady who waited on me fires was also pleasant. Memo to the other employees : Stop moving Rob's mini screwdriver set. read more

O'Reilly auto parts very convenient to my house. Most often they have the part I'm looking for. This particular location is never a real busy. There's always a place to park. There's always someone at the counter willing to help. Are usually get assistance in 3 to 4 minutes of walking into the door. I spoke with a manager and he said my issue was likely caused by something other than the anti-seize. 2 months later my spark plug coils failed and I had them replaced by a Honda dealership. Perhaps the issue all along was my spark plug coils, which has been known to fail (mine at 106k miles). Good thing is HONDA updated that part and it should last for another 10 years. Again, a NGK representative did confirm anti-seize is not recommended as the part already comes with a never cease coating on the threads. Therefore, I've changed my ratings for O'Reilly's based on this additional information and related events. read more

I am a very loyal OReily customer but the Cedar Park location is terrible. Do not do business here. Apparently they only keep $15 mins in each drawer and don't do cash refunds over $20. I had to drive to the Leander location to get proper change. Cedar park manager was unreasonable, not friendly and hard to work with. read more

Not surprised to see all negative reviews for this location. I stopped in to pick up something totally minor. When I asked the associate for help and I received was a shitty attitude and no help. As I was leaving I noticed the other associate in the parking lot helping another customer put wipers blades on now that guy knows what customer service is. Wish I would have encountered him and not grumpy. Stay clear try autozone or advanced auto parts down the street. I'm sure they have better customer service and not a grumpy ass old man behind the counter. read more

O'reilly consistently has more knowledgeable staff than the orange stores. ( based on my experiences and frustrations across numerous states) The 1701 N Bell Blvd. store staff even stands out from the O'reilly pack. These guys are true parts pro's! They are experienced and knowledgeable mechanics. No single parts store has access to all components, on all makes, at all times. On more than one occasion they have actually picked up the phone and located the parts I needed at a competitor parts house while I was standing at the counter. That my friends is called customer service! They solved my problem!!! The alternative is the data entry person behind the counter who is simply punches in the make and model and hopes for a match. ( If you need wiper blades, Armoral, and plastic skull valve stem caps.. they are reasonably helpful!) It is frustrating when the person who is suppose to be helping you either does not have the knowledge base to understand the vocabulary of the business or who seem to find joy in saying "that's not available". No it's not "not available"... you just don't have it or don't understand enough about it too know how to source it. eg. Needed a CAN-BUS code reader for heavy trucks...multiple orange stores repeatedly tried to sell me a an OBD2 scanner because that was what they stocked. First O'Reilly store called located one at a store in a neighboring state three hours away and had it in my hands the next morning. eg. Needed an aftermarket TPMS. Blank stare from the orange guy at the register vs Oreilly "partsman" who pulled out the catalog for one of his suppliers and had an option to order in a couple minutes These guys are good. They are worth the drive as a first stop parts source. read more

All in in all, a fair terrible place to purchase parts or look for help. If your looking for oil or some other simple item I'm sure you'll be fine (although they've refused to transfer an oil filter to their store before which is absurd!). The staff appears to be totally incompetent, and doesn't seem to care either. I'll be taking my business either online, or to another store. This place is a total waste of time. read more

I would like to recognize James Barbosa for the exemplary customer service he showed me during my visit today. I visited the store because I was unexpectedly met with my car not starting and suspected that it was my battery. I walked into the store and after greeting me, Mr. Barbosa proceeded to tell me what my options were and showed me some of the best customer service I have ever encountered. I entered the store completely disheartened and left knowing that if I need any auto parts going forward, I will be visiting Mr. Barbosa first so I can purchase from someone honest and trustworthy. He went above and beyond what someone would expect and I only hope that this feedback leads to positive recognition within the store for him. I have always done well with the O'Reillys on Crystal Falls Parkway I went into the O'Reillys off of North Bell or 183. Pulled into their parking lot parked my truck. Got my parts. Went to leave their driver was pulling in to a parking spot .I saw him stop in a parking spot that I proceeded to back out of the lot. Because the lot is too small to turn a large trash truck around in a parking spot that I proceeded to back out of the lot. Because the lot is too small to turn a large trash truck around in. When they were driver proceeded to put their car in reverse and back into my truck. Did not call the police because O'Reillys should take care of something like this you would think. But sent me a letter because the police were not called they will not pay for the damage. This morning after church my battery died. I had jumper cables so a nice man helped me get it started. I went straight to O'Reilly's to replace my battery. The guys in this store were very helpful. Russell even took out my old battery and put in my new one. When I asked if I could pay him for his work, he told me not to worry about it. I appreciate having the help since I'm a single lady. This shop will NEVER receive my business again. I was utterly disappointed in the service I received. My car was having a serious problem the night I stopped here, and I only did because my car was about to break down, and it was the only auto store open. I knew what the problem was, and could have easily fixed it if I had the part and some tools. I pulled in just in time as my check engine light had been flashing, and my car was shaking horribly. I asked the associate inside to plug in my car to check that the problem was what I thought it was. After a minute of looking around where to plug in the device, she asked me if I knew where to put it. She was rude when I suggested where it went, even though I was correct. After I saw the problem was exactly what I suspected, I went inside to purchase an Ignition Coil, for $95. I asked questions and she went on to explain she could not answer them because she, and no one else there, were certified. Overall, she seemed completely incompetent and uneducated. After I purchased my item, I made it quite clear I needed to change it out to make it home, and she did not offer tools (which I found out a sign outside said they do lend tools), or any help whatsoever. This left me and my two friends sitting on the curb outside the store making calls for a ride back home. After about 20 minutes, the same associate came outside, and rather than asking us if we were okay or needed help/a cab, she asked me if I would be leaving my car overnight, to which I answered yes I have no choice right now. She proceeded to tell me to move it out from the front of the store because the next day (Saturday) would be busy. I moved my car, to see her come to me again and tell me that my car would be towed if it were not moved out of the parking lot by noon the following day. All of this was said with with a dismissive attitude and rude tone of voice. I told her I would be back the next day as soon as I could, and she made it pretty clear that I have to come early because the opening manager does not like cars staying overnight. Considering this was the FIRST time my car has left me stranded somewhere, and I needed help, this was a disappointment. I have never been in that situation before, and I was a little freaked out. So, not only are they an auto parts store who should help with these problems, but I was a customer. I had just spent $95 on a part, and that was how I was treated. I can almost guarantee if that happened at an AutoZone, they would have offered tools and a bit more knowledge on the matter. I will never return. read more
