If my recent luck of having two busted exterior handles was not enough, one Saturday on my way to an event, my key fobe stopped working. The antitheft feature is great when you have a working driver's side handle. Not so much when both front doors are not working, which the manual key only opens when the key fobe's battery is down. Basically, I was LOCKED out of my car in my OWN GARAGE. Out of frustration, I kept pressing the buttons on the key fobe until finally enough juice from the battery existed for all the doors to be unlocked. Decided to jump in the car, cancel my Saturday plans and go straight to the part store or dealership to get a battery. At first I was headed to the dealership, but with a 8 year old car, you may find what you need locally in your typical part store, so I pulled over, did a search and Advance Auto Parts was at the top of the search list. I called and someone named Jarred picked up. This is around 11 am Saturday and this guy is completely jovial. I ask him do they have a replacement battery for my vehicle's key fobe...Absolutely Jarred replies. I asked him if they assist customers replacing the battery... Jarred adamantly responds of course we do that all the time! So, I immediately dip down Broadway to make sure my ride is accessible. Soon as I enter Advance Auto Parts, I'm greeted and when I mention my reason for being in the store, Jarred excitely says, YES I was the one you talked to! Although my fobes were a little challenging to open, Jarred was devoted to making sure I had what I needed, which was working fobes! Took about 10 minutes total to do the replacement in both fobes and to complete the transaction and off I went to go work out without fear of being locked out!
