When you're stuck in town but want to feel like you're in a tropical destination, The Toasted…read moreCoconut is where you need to come. The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. These were also very good. If I lived in the area, this place would easily be a place I would frequent often. I will most definitely be back!

They have an outdoor eating area, a bar area, and seating in the very back. It's very spacious, comfortable, and intimate. The theme of the restaurant is seen all over from the moment you enter, to the music, the menu and the restroom. They paid close attention to detail with decorating. We had an amazing server, delicious drinks (a must try), and ok food. We ordered four drinks the painkilla, vamos à la playa, captains grog, and the Hemingway daiquiri. All were great drinks and we loved how they give you flavor characteristics of the drinks on the menu. The appetizers that we ordered were the sweet and sour cauliflower and the pork dumplings, which is why I gave this place four stars. The presentation of both appetizers were excellent. However, the pork dumplings were disappointing. They came with only six dumplings for $17, were served cold, and are very bland. In my opinion, they weren't worth the price. On the other hand, the sweet and sour cauliflower was our favorite and is definitely a must-try.

I also got the boudin egg rolls and hush puppies. Neither were my fave I've had. I am leaving hungry but happy about what I ate. Now the bar staff and management staff is amazing and great customer service. 100/10. S/o to Luka at the bar. Also seems like a great place to bring your family on a Friday night. You can literally find just about anything you need here, from snacks and souvenirs to fresh food and desserts. The moment you walk in, the smell of fresh brisket and barbecue hits you right away. The brisket sandwiches are fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The bakery section is dangerous in the best way possible, filled with so many delicious goodies and sweet treats that it's hard to choose just one. The hot food section had so many tasty options available that I honestly couldn't decide what to get. Everything looked fresh, hot, and delicious. No matter what you're craving, they probably have it. The store itself was super clean, well organized, and surprisingly efficient considering how busy it gets. The staff kept everything moving smoothly, and the atmosphere was fun and energetic. If you've never been to Buc-ee's, you need to stop at least once. And once you do, you'll probably find yourself wanting to stop every time you see one on the road.

Before coming here, I had gone to another dealership and had a completely different experience. The salesman seemed like he had no real interest in helping me, I didn't feel comfortable, and I definitely didn't feel like I could trust him with such a big purchase. Then I met Alex, and it was literally the complete opposite. From the beginning, Alex made me feel comfortable, listened to what I wanted, answered all of my questions, and genuinely helped me every step of the way. I never felt pressured or like I was just another sale. Buying a car can be stressful, especially when you're trying to figure out who you can actually trust, and Alex made the entire experience so much easier. What impressed me even more is that his customer service didn't stop the second I drove off the lot. It's been MONTHS since I bought my car, and he has still checked in with me and made sure everything is going well. That says a lot about someone and the way they do their job. I absolutely love my new car, and I'm so glad I ended up at Big Star Ford and had Alex helping me through the process. If you're looking for a vehicle, ask for Alex De La Paz. Seriously. Big Star Ford better give this man a raise before another dealership steals him for their team! He is exactly the kind of person you want representing your business. Thank you, Alex, for making what started out as a terrible car-shopping experience turn into such a good one. You definitely earned this review -- even if it took me a few months to finally write it! 10/10 recommend Alex De La Paz!

I went to Big Star's website and wrote in with interest about a new Explorer. I also shared the struggles we have been facing. Their team was amazing at getting back with me and empathizing over our struggle. With all the stress I needed an easy transition and couldn't bear a full day in a dealership. That would have just turned the knife. Adrien was super helpful, worked with me on getting above residual value for my car, negotiated rates before I had to come in. We did all our financials online. So by the time we came in all we had to do test drive the car, agree on final financing, and close the deal with finance. We were in and out in 2hrs. This was the best and most seamless car transaction I've ever had in my life! Hands down amazing people. Thank you so much for understanding this stress I was under and making this as easy as possible on us. I am truly grateful!!

I guess you can classify the area as EaDo. I don't remember a dedicated parking lot, but there is alot of street parking in the area. Looks can be deceiving. It has a divey look on the outside, with a little patio and picnic tables. Walking in, it was the complete opposite. I'm not saying it's upscale inside, but it's clean, has dim lighting with string lights, quirky decorations, random seating throughout, a couple of pool tables, a jukebox, etc. The NOLA vibes were there with all the frozen drink machines lined up behind the bar. We came pretty early in the night and the place was busy. We got lucky and was able to take up some space at the bar. Customer service was great. I knew coming in I was going to go for a frozen drink of some sort, but they got it all. It's almost like they had an identity crisis and just decided to put all the drink varieties on the menu. They have tiki bar type drinks that are rum forward. They have the tequila category with margaritas, palomas, etc. They have all kinds of draft and bottled beer. Then of course all the frozen concoctions. You can get them as is with one flavor, or get one of their mixes with extra shots of flavored liquor or tooters as they like to call it. I tried the Sexxx Waxxx. The name alone seemed intriguing. It was a mix of one of their mango drinks along with strawberry mixes. Delicious and it packed a punch as well. I took it easy and stopped after one. They also have food on deck. They got Po'Boys, chicken strips and other bar foods. My friends swore by the tator tots. I got a large order to share and even though they looked like regular tots, they seasoned and cooked them to perfection and they were addicting. I need to come back and try their other stuff as well. Overall, great spot. I wish it was closer to home because places like this make me happy. I will definitely be back when in the area!

I thought that was fair and reasonable. Was told the car would be ready on Tuesday afternoon. They called on Tuesday afternoon and said they weren't having difficulties with the brakes and would need more time. I said take all the time you need but verified that I wasn't paying more than the 601$ I had approved. They called Thursday afternoon and tell me the car is ready for pickup. I walk in and now the total is 994$!!!! I asked who authorized the additional repairs? Because I did not. I had to pay an extra 390$ of repairs without my approval. They didn't even try to offer to lower the bill, you would think if you made an error and did repairs without authorization the shop would at least eat the labor costs.
