We'd recently moved to a different state, so I had to go to a different store. I took my watch home and re-set the time and date, and put the watch in my jewelry tray. A few days later, I was heading to the pool to swim. I use the watch when I'm swimming. It's water resistant to 100 M (328 feet), and is specifically made for water sports. When I was done with my swim, I looked at my watch. The display was completely gray and brown, and there were water bubbles floating in the display behind the crystal! I immediately went back to the Batteries Plus since it's right near my gym, and the guy told me that because I wore it in the pool it's not his problem! Oh my God, it's a water resistant watch, and it says so right on the front of the watch! It's intended to get wet and be submerged in a pool! I had to argue with the guy to at least give me a refund for the battery price... As it was, I was paying for them to have ruined my watch. I did get my twentyish dollars back for the battery, but I'm out a $65 watch! Will I ever go back there? Never! UPDATE 5/10/25: The day after posting this review, "Frank M." from Batteries Plus replied to my review asking me to get in touch with them about improving my experience. (You can see that reply below.) Based on the email address, I believe that was someone at the corporate level of Batteries Plus. I sent an email to the address provided, asking them to reimburse me for the watch that was ruined. A few days later I received an email from Russell, the store manager at the Geneva location, asking for photos of the watch so that he could get the model number for the watch and replace it! I'd just recently thrown the watch away, but was able to retrieve it from my office wastebasket, and send him photos of the watch along with the user's guide that had identifying information and a long list of the watch's features and functions. Luckily, I still had the user guide from when I purchased the watch and didn't even think of that until Russell asked for the model number. Unfortunately, as I'd already discovered because I'd been looking for a replacement, that particular watch was no longer available. I gave Russell a couple of other options for a substitute and he graciously replaced the watch which I received this afternoon. I am upgrading my review from one star to four stars. (A five star rating would have been if my original watch hadn't been ruined, and if I didn't have to leave a negative Yelp review to get to as satisfactory resolution.) But, all's well that ends well. It's nice to know that this company will own up to their mistakes.

This store is no exception. It is a pleasure to deal with people and not automated phones. I was looking for a camera battery and while they did not carry it in the end, the batteries plus representative made all the efforts to look the battery up. Confirm that she did not have it at her store, but checked all the other batteries pluses in the area and confirmed that none of the stores carried that particular Battery But even offered another company for me to try. Unfortunately, that company was a big box store that I had already reached out to and hung up because all I could get was an animated service that could not help me. Wherever and whenever I can, I will use this store over any other store.

I had the battery changed and my wife called me concerned because she had our two daughters in the car and she was driving down the street and the car stopped. This was one day after the battery was changed. The very next day we brought it to the jeep dealership where we bought the car and they said "we thought we have seen it all but this one takes the cake". I called them and admittedly it took me a while as I travel for work. They then took their sweet time not getting back to me with every excuse in the world. I want to be clear I asked for my money and I told them more importantly this kid is Going to hurt someone. My wife was in the middle of the street. I spoke to the manager who told me he would look into it. After getting back to me he said there was nothing they can do. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR FAMILY SAFE. after discussion with the manager he pointed out how I took too long to get back to them. He ignored the video. And told me with his employee told me that he was fixing it in a different way. In reality the Young man told me he had trouble loosening the nuts on my battery. Shut off the truck, bought the battery and the guy rolled it out to the parking lot to change. They don't have a garage. Seemed like a bad idea to change in a busy parking lot. He couldn't figure out how to remove the old battery. Now I'm stuck and had to return the battery and jump start only it and go to Firestone. Avoid this place. They have no idea what they are doing. I didn't believe him and it turned out I was correct. The Die Hard battery "died". My feeling is he just didn't want to take responsibility or be bothered for a warranty item from another store. I could not get off the back battery plate and asked store rep for assistance. The rep get the old battery out and replaced with new fresh battery in about 1 minute. I asked what I owed and was presented a $17.35 bill. I was not informed there was a charge for putting in the 3.00 battery. I did pay the bill and lodged a complaint with Battery Plus Corporate. To my great surprise Matt, the Store Manager, said he agreed with my assessment, had a meeting to instruct everyone to inform work costs before proceeding, and said that he would give me a full refund which he did on 2-4-2026. I am quite pleased that Matt was so forthright in giving my full purchase price back. I give high kudos to Matt and all the Batteries Plus store personnel. A week later I call asking where it was, they said actually it would be 2 weeks and they forgot to call to tell me. 3 weeks in I give them a call and they tell me oh actually it is in now and we forgot to call you again. I go in to get this done and am told to wait 40 minutes in store. I settle in, and am told that actually they can't help me because their new system actually doesn't work with my car.
