If one were interested in proving the point simply take a Dyno battery and a battery from any other supplier such as those through O'Reilly Auto Parts. The O'Reilly are good enough but Dyno are better. Simply weigh each and you will find the Dyno battery about 20% heavier. That is due to Dino's use of more lead. That means you can run down each the same amount and the Dyno Battery will have a reserve of power not available in the O'Reilly battery. There is a reason why all of the fisherman going up the inner passage to the Alaska fisheries use Dyno. Running out of juice in a storm might mean the ship will founder. Where a fisherman's life depends upon the battery, fisherman trust the Dyno battery. The service is far better too. Relative to my own car, a Subaru Legacy, for example, the owner, Mark Allen Knowlton noticed that the battery shelf in my car was appropriate for a 27 series battery despite the manual indicating the lesser 24 series battery was the recommended battery. He recommended I move up to the larger battery though they were relatively close in price. The only difference between the two series is that the 27 has more cells, thus, more cranking capacity though otherwise they are the same, i.e,, the same voltage. This winter, I have noticed the difference. This extra cranking amperage is a big deal when it is cold out. The 27 catches quicker, charges more fully, and assures the start up fuel charge is more consistent with the designed charge because the injectors have full power despite the cranking voltage drain. Far better for the engine and more likely to start immediately. Good for older cars especially. All in all Dyno has all my family's battery business.

They immediately did a thorough job inspecting and testing the battery with no evidence of any issues with the battery and confirmed it was producing over 960 CCA which was great for it's age and use. I was really surprised they swapped my old battery and sent me home with a new 4D starter battery for no charge. The new battery is working perfectly and I wanted to call out a company that stands behind it's products which is becoming so rare nowadays. Great job and thank you Dyno Battery team.

However, our trip took an unexpected turn on the last day when my vehicle's alternator suddenly failed, leaving us stranded and anxious to return home. In a panic, I quickly searched for a nearby mechanical shop and found Village Autocare & Tire. I called the shop, and a gentleman named Riley answered. I explained our predicament, emphasizing that we were just visiting and had nowhere to stay. I asked if they could replace my alternator before closing time. He was initially helpful in understanding my urgent need to get back to Vancouver. After towing my vehichle and upon arriving at the shop, I met Ken, who was at the front office. I reiterated my situation, and he assured me he would call with a quote. As I had to leave the shop for a bit, I asked Ken for nearby coffee shops, but he failed to mention that there was a mall right next door, which would have been helpful, not knowing the area. After two hours, Ken called with a quote of $1,687 plus tax for replacing my idler pulley and alternator, which was a refurbished Denso brand (Retail $235). I was shocked by the quote, and I knew that I was taking advantage of it. Given our circumstances I had no other choice but to go ahead with repair. I pleaded with him to have the car fixed by the end of the day, but he informed me that the alternator wouldn't arrive until 4 PM and that the installation would take three hours (Shop time is 1.8 hours). This meant we would have to wait until the next day to leave. Feeling frustrated, I walked back to the shop to retrieve our belongings and my mom's medication. To my dismay, I noticed the Denso alternator & the idler pully sitting on a table in Ken's office. It became clear to me that Ken had taken advantage of our desperate situation and overcharged us for the repair. The customer service and experience were incredibly disappointing, and I would caution anyone considering Village Autocare & Tire. It's unfortunate that businesses like this take advantage of vulnerable customers. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I recommend exploring other options before settling on this shop. Final Thought: Stay away from this shop!
