Somewhere on I-5 heading south to Yreka the hose became detached from the car. The connecter must have bounced along the highway for many miles and was destroyed. David said, "You might want to get that looked at." Then he told us that what we needed was "on aisle 8 in the store." There is no aisle 8. He was rude, unhelpful, and a real jerk when someone is coming up dealing with car problems. He should really stop and think about how he's treating people in his line of work. Yuck.

Looking for metric sizes in a "Made in the USA" city isn't easy but the salesman rifled though all the stock to find me a metric allen wrench set. He apologized for not having singles, but who the hell would stock only a 8mm allen wrench? I still have my boards today because the guy that helped me was sure they had a metric set and took the time to find the one (dust and all) in the store. I had been having an issue with my cars rear fender piece popping out, even if I push the piece back in it'll inevitably come out again. This was actually the second auto part store I'd been to today and my treatment was just as bad if not worse than the first store. In the beginning of the interaction, the employee was actually super helpful. He listened to my problem, walked me to the part I needed and then helped pick out the right one. He even offered to check my car to make sure the part would actually work. We got outside and he takes a look at my car, first at the broken side, and then at the normal side then back at the broken side again. He then informed me that the part I thought I needed wouldn't actually fix the problem. This is where the interaction goes downhill. He then says, and I quote, "do you have a boyfriend?" THEN PAUSES for a second before continuing, "or a dad or other male figure who knows how to use a drill?" WHAT THE HELL!!!!! I just kinda stood there in shock because I know how to use a drill. It's 2022 I shouldn't have to say this but I don't need a man to help me fix my car! I am competent on my own!!! He continues to stare at me waiting for an answer so I panic and just say "yeah I know someone who can help" He then goes, "alright yeah have him look at it and he'll fix it for you." WTF!!!!!! So naturally I asked him to elaborate so I could "pass it on" to the imaginary man who is going to repair my car for me. He explains it to me as if I were five. I am not one to pull a "Karen" so I played nice during this whole interaction. After he walked back into the store, with the part I did need but didn't purchase because he said I didn't need it, (spoiler I went and bought it from elsewhere and now my car is fixed) I drove off, pretty damn pissed and decided to never come back to AutoZone again. I talked with a employee there and explained to him i charged it and it doesnt seem to hold a charge. He then tells me that he can check it but without a receipt he cant replace it. I then asked him what was the date code on the battery and he said looked like a 2025 prob 10 months old. I then asked dont you go off date codes and he said yes but i still have to have a receipt to get it replaced. So i just left with the battery. Not a way to do business in a small valley. I have been in business for 26 years in the valley and would never have lasted this long if i did this to my customers. If you want good warranties and service go to Batteries plus. They replace the battery off the date even if you dont have a receipt. They will be getting all my business for all my equipment batteries from here on out.
