We had a roadside emergency on I 5 north of Yreka. AAA could not send anyone to help us for 4 1/2 hours. We called Les Schwab and Trevor promptly arrived, providing emergency service in changing the blown tire for our spare. Even though the Les Schwab dealership was closed, Brian called me and offered to remain at work after hours to place new tires on our RV. Trent stayed with him to assist in the service. Let me start with the good: When my engine spontaneously caught on fire, Dan (I believe) was very responsive, quickly got it out, and helped me find a shop and tow service in town to a shop that could handle a fried alternator. Credit where credit is due. I appreciate the quick action sincerely and am grateful. Now the bad. Women and femmes, don't go here expecting respect. A man in the shop (I believe non-employee) told me as I was sitting down, "You can come lean your head here and cry on my shoulder." This is *creepy.* So I said as much. "That is a really creepy offer. No thank you." He chose to double down, repeating the offer. I reiterated the creepiness and asked him to stop but he *continued* to talk to me while I was trying to call tow agencies. I ended up stepping outside because I was uncomfortable with him. He also randomly said it was a normal offer in Canada? When I came back in, Preston, a manager I believe, told me the man "didn't have the intentions you think he had." Frankly, it doesn't matter if the creep's intentions were good or bad. If someone is allowed to make a "sarcastic joke" as Preston put it, I am allowed to say I find the "joke" creepy. Nevermind that the man in question never stated it was a joke. I'm pretty damn sure the man was being sincere and completely oblivious to the fact that "offering" that kind of physical and emotional intimacy is not appropriate, especially after I expressed that I found it creepy. I quoted myself directly. I recognize that I didn't say it "nicely," but femmes know we can't afford niceness. I tried to explain to Preston that such behavior makes me feel unsafe, to which Preston responded, "Really? After 'we' came out and saved your van from the fire?" Nevermind that Preston didn't do anything. He stood there while Dan took care of it. Nevermind that a fire and sexual harassment are two separate issues entirely. There is no way this man would have offered a "shoulder to cry on" to another man. So, while I am grateful for the quick response to the emergency situation, the fact is, Preston not only is okay with men harassing his fem customers (again, he continued after I asked him to stop not once, but twice) but also is the type to say I am then the rude one. I'm not going to be perfectly polite to people who "joke" inappropriately, but no. I wasn't rude, I was straightforward. "That is a really creepy offer. No thank you." "I don't want that kind of rudeness in my store." Alright. Cool. I don't want to be in your store, Preston, and I'm damn glad that my engine caught on fire *before* I had any obligation to pay you a single dime. read more

I recently had a leaking front tire originally purchased elsewhere repaired at Les Schwab and they repaired the tire at no charge. Then last week I ran over a road hazard and it damaged my sidewall. When I brought my truck to Les Schwab this week I was promptly greeted, and they explained all of the options to me, They explained to me that since I have an all four wheel drive, that I could purchase two tires or four tires, but that 4 tires was preferable. I chose to get 4 new tires. They had a good selection and had 5 different brands in stock. They were not in a hurry and spent time going over the costs and characteristics of each tire brand with me. Despite the busy day, their staff were still able to deal with the cars quickly and efficiently. Driving to Oregon late one Friday afternoon, a warning light notified us that the tire pressure on one tire was low. Adding air only helped for a few miles. Fortunately, there was a Les Schwab tire dealer in Yreka. Despite the late hour, they checked the tire and found a large nail. Given that one other tire had already been patched, and this tire couldn't be repaired (at least not well enough to get us to our destination), they replaced all four tires. It was close to closing time on a Friday night, but everyone was so helpful and friendly, and there never was a feeling that they were rushing us. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! While vacationing with my 2 kids and their 2 friends in Happy Camp, CA got a flat on our rental car. We successfully put on the spare tire and drove back the 25 miles to our Airbnb, went to drive it again to the store 2 hours later and it was in some sort of frozen mode. Enterprise rental told me to have the car towed to the nearest location or a Les Schwab to have the tire fixed - so I had it towed to this location with my AAA service. Lindsey worked with Enterprise to get the tire replacement approved but even after that the car would not move! Preston spent another 45 min working on it to no avail. Enterprise did NOTHING to help me and I was now stranded 1.5 hours away from my kids with no way to get back or get a new vehicle and the shop was closing in a half hour. Preston without hesitation called his wife who ended up driving me over an hour to Medford to that Enterprise at the airport to get me a new vehicle - Preston and crew stored the Audi in the garage (pushed the damn thing in) for Enterprise to pick up themselves. These people were truly Guardian Angels that helped me above and beyond what most people would do for a stranger! I cannot say enough about their kindness, service and patience. His wife and Lindsey even walked into the airport with me and to the new car to make sure I got back on the road safely for the 2 hour ride back to Happy Camp. This ordeal was 9 hours of me living in fear that I would be stranded in Yreka Cali with no way back to my kids. On December 23 we were driving from Reno, NV on our way to Eugene, OR to visit family for Christmas. The driving was rough with lots snow and snowplows between Susanville and Mt. Shasta making our already long drive much longer. On Hwy 44 the tire pressure light came on. We stopped at another tire shop in Mt. Shasta that had good yelp reviews but they were swamped and it was still snowing heavy. It is there that I saw the screw in the back tire. We decided to continue to Yreka and Les Schwab, a chain we know. Sure enough, they got us right in, fixed the tire, checked the others and said Merry Christmas, safe travels. The only place open on a Saturday in Yreka that deals with tires. Or at least it was when I was in town several months ago and walked out to my car only to realize I had run over something on my way in the night before that caused a slow leak; I had a flat tire! To make matters worse, I was supposed to drive my nephew to his birthday party, approximately 20 miles or so away in Weed, CA. The party was set to start in an hour, so I had very limited time. I drove to Clayton's, the spot my mother recommended, only to find them closed. Went next door and asked where I could find an open tire center, and was directed to the new Les Schwab on Fairlane. A man came out to meet me as I pulled up in a panic, and immediately put me at ease. I let him know my time crunch and he got my car in immediately. While I checked out tire rims and fancy tires, even trying out the interactive simulator to see how different rims would look on my car, Les Schwab took very good, very fast care of my car. About 20 minutes later my tire was patched and I was charged nothing- let me repeat that- NOTHING. I have since had no trouble with the tire; very good patch. Biggest complaint: when I went in to ask how much a set of a certain Goodyear model would be, the manager tried to snow me into house brands, allegedly "twice as good and half the price!" Uh, save it, dude. But they did a great job mounting the tires I bought off a certain web site beginning with the letter "A", and even took care of a few nail punctures without even charging me.
