What a treat, I have never stayed in a hotel like this. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the building. We loved the antiques and the whole vibe. If u r scared of ghosts u might pick another place, just sayin. The owner provides yummy snacks including wine, beer and other drinks included in ur stay as well as breakfast in the morning with a nice selection to choose from. If you like antiques, you will love this place. We stayed for a night a few weeks ago on our way to the coast. Not sure what to expect, we were greeted by the front desk person who happens to be the owner! He showed us the available rooms and let us choose which suited us best. It was super fun to see the different themes of each room, from art deco to different antique themes. Rooms have different sized beds and locations which open to the interior of the inn towards the kitchen and sitting area. It was great to talk with the owner and hear how he acquired the different pieces of furniture throughout the building. Glad that we took a chance and stayed at this family owned gem. read more

This is such a unique , beautiful and old but new little hotel . Our family stayed here over new year and loved every minute of it . It has a feel of home . Beds were huge and very clean .The hotel is dotted with furniture pieces that are ancient , in carved wood and each telling a story . It's on the top of the Arcadia antique shop road . You are right in the mix of everything , the antique shops, Pokémon shop and restaurants are minutes walk .I couldn't stay anywhere else in Arcadia. This is our best hotel find ! Very unique old hotel in an old downtown area. BUT... Buildings have new tenants with current cafes and coffee shops, etc. Hotel has remodeled the rooms with different themes. You will appreciate the age of the building and how they kept the feel, but the rooms are updated and comfortable! Breakfast was different than your regular hotel area. It was in character with this hotel, lots of choices of dry cereals, oatmeal, pastries, coffee, teas, fruit. Then you take your items to a lovely seating area. The staircase leading upstairs is part of the charm, enjoy this old building for what it is... A step back in time. (No elevator for those who can not walk up a flight of stairs.) We enjoyed our visit very much. read more

Delightful hotel with a warm inviting atmosphere. I was only here for one night, I wish I could've stayed longer. The rooms are large, clean and well furnished. Each room is a different theme, I had room 8 which overlooks a beautiful city park. I loved being able to go to the common use area and grab a bottle of water and late night snack. A small fridge with beer and wine is also available. It feels as though you are in someone's home rather than a corporate owned hotel. This is family owned and operated. The local restaurants have homemade pastries, the best Mexican food, and a coffee shop on the corner. I would've enjoyed staying here for an extended time and I hope to come back soon. You won't regret your stay here. Clean safe, and above all else quiet and relaxing. read more

If you want a unique stay instead of typical boring hotels, this is the spot! The building was built in 1902, and it's gorgeous. If you are unable to climb a flight of stairs, there isn't an elevator (old building), so be aware of that. The owners are so sweet and flexible when we needed another night. They offer complimentary snacks, breakfast, beer/wine, non alcoholic drinks... a little of everything! The upstairs has a cozy, large sitting space next to the kitchen room. You can keep your food in the fridge and grab fresh towels whenever you need. We booked a premium suite with a balcony, king bed, living room space, cable TV, wifi, and huge bathroom with a jacuzzi. AC unit in the bedroom so we slept like babies. It's just a few minutes up the road from Winn-Dixie, Publix, Walmart, CVS, Dunkin' donuts, etc. and directly next to delis and coffee. Bonus points for being located about 35 minutes to Port Charlotte. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and the owners. We'll be back!! :) read more

My friends and I had the best time with our stay here. The second floor is so special. There's a large area with board games, tables, sofas to make you feel very welcome. Each of the bedrooms is themed and decorated with care so that they delight. The entire hotel is spotless clean. The breakfast is continental. The kitchen is open so that we stored our food in the refrigerator. There were plenty of snacks, drinks, even wine and beer, offered all the time. My small dogs were welcomed with a $10/dog price which is very reasonable. The hotel is next to a park with a gorgeous large oak tree and it's at the beginning of historic buildings housing mostly antique dealers. It was great fun to window shop since we were there after hours. The town was very appealing to walk around. I loved my weekend trip and would come back in a snap! read more

This hotel is amazing, the room was clean and the staff friendly and very accommodating and on top of that their prices are great. It is centrally located in the area so you can walk everywhere from the hotel and parking is included which it's always a plus. The staff is always keeping the bar stacked and they have a pantry with snacks, pastries and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic, it is also a family hotel and the owner is always on-site and available and always checking on guests to see if we needed everything and to try and accommodate on anything. There is a nice lobby to relax in. The town is full of antiques and fun to shop. The next day we went to Solomon's castle nearby. A must see. We will return and stay here again! read more

What a great inn! My husband had to do some work in Sebring but the hotels were tremendously overpriced due to an auto race. We decided to stay at this inn and were very happy we did. The hospitality, cleanliness, decor, snacks, wine, etc.. were very nice. The price was right as well. On top of all this, the town of Arcadia is adorable. A new gem in Arcadia. This historic building is now a wonderfully restored small hotel. Each room is uniquely decorated and restored with a theme for each room. Great owners provide those extras you would not expect from an standard hotel. Open pantry stocked with wine, sodas and snacks is just one of the special touches. Charming common areas for wine in the evening or a light breakfast in the morning is friendly and inviting. Definitely the only place to stay in this town of low end hotels. We came for the rodeo( which was surprisingly enjoyable) and the owner volunteered to drive us over to the arena and pick us up so we did not have to pay for parking. Now that is above and beyond service you'll find here. read more

I showed up in the middle of a rainstorm, and in a uhaul truck so the owner offered to take me to a restaurant and also pick me up after I ate. Home away from home! Review of Oak Park Inn Pending review I recently had occasion to stay in Arcadia for a week. Forgoing the chain hotels I saw this charming bed and breakfast. They were able to accommodate my needs without any difficulty, providing a special drawer in the refrigerator especially for my food that I needed to take with me to work. The Inn was recently renovated following hurricane damage and it has been done perfectly. The original charm and style of each room has been preserved- and each one has a unique "theme", but updated in the areas that matter the most, notably the bathrooms, which are spacious, clean and with great water pressure!! This is a family enterprise and their goal is to treat each guest like family- they succeeded beyond all expectations! All kinds of snacks and beverages are available at any hour, guests are encouraged to help themselves without extra charges. Located in the heart of Arcadia, there are numerous antique stores to explore, cafes to visit and for a weekend away, the peace River is close by and attractions such as Solomon's castle. I would highly recommend this Inn either as a destination in and of itself, or if on business travel, as a relaxing alternative to the big chains. you will not be sorry.!! read more

This is a charming place with luxurious rooms, enormous and inviting common areas, and lots of extra touches. Someone spent a fortune remodeling this lovely old house, and all the guest rooms are beautifully appointed, each with a different theme. We were in the suite, including three rooms stretching across the second floor fronting historic Oak Street, and including a balcony. We had a large bedroom with four poster bed, a large sitting room and a huge bathroom with 2-person jacuzzi tub and separate shower. A mostly decorative imitation fireplace with the appearance of logs and flames added to the coziness of the room on a cool Florida day. We had everything we could need. I really liked the " housekeeping " area on the second floor, a large open hall with all sorts of extras like wine glasses, a full sized fridge for guest use, some utensils, washing machines and dryers, etc. For breakfast we got cards with $6.00 of credit each that were good for either Wheelers or the coffee shop directly across from the Inn. That covered omelets at Wheelers for us. We really liked innkeeper Tony, she was very hospitable and helpful, and showed us all the rooms that were not occupied the night we were there, which was most of them, because it was an off weekend in Arcadia. We would love to come back again some time. read more

Chris (owner) and Montana (housekeeping manager) go over and beyond to provide the very best in accommodations and cleanliness. You will love the themed guest rooms. The Oak Park Inn is available for private events! I had the pleasure of hosting a bridal shower in the upstairs gathering area this past weekend and it was the perfect venue for our group. The owner, Christopher Brown, is the most charismatic and gracious host you could ask for. He made sure our every need was met and interacted with our party guests in a very kind and professional manner. He gave us access to the kitchen area where we were able to stage all of our food and beverages, there was ample seating and table space for everyone to eat, and the sitting area under the skylight in front of the fireplace was the perfect place for the bride to open gifts. It is a beautiful Inn and after touring the rooms and seeing all the amenities I will absolutely return to stay as a guest. The only suggestion I have for Christopher is to offer more training to his guest services manager. She interacted with our group more so as a housekeeper and less like someone who would be responsible for our experience. She was very attentive to things like turning over guest rooms, and taking out the trash (and things that weren't trash) but she lacked basic hospitality skills. I understand she was working, but I would have appreciated her introducing herself to me, offering to answer any questions, offering anything really -- eye contact, smiling, etc. Christopher, however, truly made us feel like valued guests -- his personality is so warm and vivacious. If you're looking for the best of Arcadia, this makes the very short list. I absolutely recommend The Oak Park Inn to anyone traveling through Arcadia. read more
