I would give 4.5 stars if I could. My fiancé and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting some friends. It was a quiet, clean hotel, and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed breakfast both mornings as well. The hotel does feel slightly outdated, but it was clean and comfortable. I have no complaints about our stay. The only thing worth noting is thatthe shower experience was rough for me. It was a nice shower, but the water pressure was very aggressive (which is uncommon for hotels, so points to them). That wouldn't be an issue, except that the angle the shower head was at (and you couldn't adjust it) made the water bounce off my shoulders and into my face constantly. The shower was quite small as well, so there was no room to move out of the way. The entire time I was showering, I was sneezing, my eyes were burning, and I was getting water up my nose-- and, because the shower was fully sealed, I kind of felt like I was drowning. My fiancé didn't have any issue; I'm assuming it was a height thing (he's about 6" taller than me). Either way, not a dealbreaker and not the fault of the hotel by any means, but if you are under 5' 4", just be advised. read more

My family and I have been staying at this location "Spring Hill Suites Punta Gorda"for many years . We absolutely love the location! Sheryl at the bar is family now. We need "T"shirts made with " We Love Sheryl logos" ! The entire front office staff are like if you're staying at a 5 star diamond resort and housekeeping manager is so amazing always accommodating. Always recognize us and our pets with open arms . We are Titanium members Gold for Life . Highly recommend this hotel . Always on point and never lets us down . We brought cookies to thank them for working Christmas and taking care of the guests. Let's talk about Louis, the engineer, who saved me for over flowing a toilet on Christmas...talk about Santa and his elves. Amazing fellow! Now for Dee, she has been a permanent staple for Spring Hill Suites. This woman puts out a breakfast for the guests and she does it with a HUGE smile. She is so huggable. This hotel is in a fantastic location, as you can walk to restaurants in just about every direction. This is definitely a newer hotel with a good layout of the rooms. The executive King suite also comes with a trundle bed, so perfect if you have kids in tow. The facilities and rooms are very clean and there's attention to detail by the staff, who are very friendly. They offer complimentary water as you check in, free breakfast, and self-parking is available, as is valet (for $10). The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was that the window in our room seemed to be thin, so you can hear traffic driving by and live music playing from a nearby establishment. It's one of those things that's hard to avoid when the hotel is along a main road. Overall, though, I wouldn't let this keep me from coming back here again. read more

Simply terrific. We journey an hour south periodically to meet friends from an hour south of the hotel. Close to the harbor and conveniently located near one of our favorite restaurants, Carmelo's (walking distance). Room was clean and bright, had a refrigerator, desk, huge closet, huge TV, Keurig coffee, a spacious bathroom and a pullout couch from West Elm in the seating area. Beds were comfy and a great buffet breakfast l. Complimentary wifi (fast too). Top it off with a terrific friendly staff, all masked, free sanitizing wipes in the room, and super Covid caution. For the price, tough to beat. This is a Marriot Bonvoy property. The Four Points Sheraton on the harbor next door was more expensive, offered no breakfast and wifi was paid only. Staff was top-notch, making the stay so enjoyable- I didn't want to ever leave! So nice to be greeted so nicely on return and the bottled water at reception was a great touch. Although the room wasn't cleaned during our 6 night stay, towels and toiletries were easily available for refreshing. Very easy process. Pool area was great... small, but pleasant. The pool towels were constantly refreshed, which was great. Perfect location - near boardwalk and great restaurants!!! Free bikes available through PG bike share right at the hotel. We didn't need them, but so convenient- the area bike trails are fantastic! Enjoy!!! read more

Great location in Punta Gorda right downtown and near the water. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. One of the few Marriott properties that actually gives you free bottles of water - I know not a big thing but something common at Sheratons before Marriott bought them. Our room was very nice and modern. I know they call these suites but it should not be confused with Residence Inns with full kitchens. The bathroom is well laid out - I like the night light built into the light switch. Breakfast is decent. The hotel participates in a local free bike program so we took advantage of it. Again the staff was super helpful in getting us set up with bikes. We would stay here again. read more

Wow! Super front desk. We arrived late and tired. Two nice ladies at the front desk made us welcome and they were quick to get us checked in and on our way to better night! Clean room by Casey and kind employees everywhere. The maintenance guy was cheerful and super helpful. The free bikes to ride around town made it so fun to stay there. We took them 2 days in a row. We enjoyed our weekend stay here. The staff here was great. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The room itself was ok mainly because we got one that was located on the first floor near the kitchen and breakfast area so you can just hear a lot of noise. We also came during fun fest and the hotel was probably busier than it normally is so there was a lot of foot traffic. The door to the room is pretty heavy so a lot of people just leave the room without catching the door so it doesn't slam. I always try to close the door as quiet as possible because I don't like hearing the door slam. Some reviews complained about the toiletries not being filled but that wasn't the case for us. Every bottle in the shower was filled. I really love the tea tree shampoo and conditioner. It feels very refreshing on the scalp. I really appreciated that they provide mini water bottles at the front counter. We were able to get one after our morning run on both days. They have complimentary breakfast daily which on M-F is 6am to 9am and Sat-Sun is 7am-10am I believe. There are a lot of options to choose from. Oatmeal, waffles (you make yourself), hot items that usually includes eggs, potatoes, bacon and pork sausages. There's also cereal, yogurt, a variety of pastries, and some fruit. For drinks, there is coffee, milk, various juices, and tea. At night, they open up the bar area and there are some beers and wine you can get but you do have to pay for that. The prices are very reasonable. I think it was $5 for a beer. Parking was also easy as it's right in front of the hotel. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. read more

We stayed here for a few days while in town for a conference. Everything was fantastic! The staff is absolutely top-notch, from the front desk, to the bartender to the engineering director, with whom I had a lovely conversation in the elevator. Everything was clean and welcoming. The water pressure was OUTSTANDING! One of the best showers I've ever had in a hotel! My only 2 complaints are minor: 1. Like many other Springhill Suites that have been updated, they have a barn-style sliding door for the bathroom that is made of opaque glass. I have no idea why it's styled like that. If someone needs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, light floods the entire room through the glass door. Hopefully Marriott execs will re-think this for the next refurbishment. BUT I will say that the thoughtful addition of the complimentary sleep mask (and ear plugs) were a nice touch, one that no other Springhill Suites with the same set up have ever offered us. 2. The parking lot was full all of the nights we were there, and while the staff was very friendly, we received differing instructions on overflow parking each night. One night we were told to park in a tow-a-way zone, which always makes me nervous, but thankfully we weren't towed. They really need a bigger parking lot for the hotel. Aside from that, don't let that keep you from staying here. Clean, friendly, great location. Don't miss out on visiting the nearby Irish Pub (one of the most authentic we've ever been to, outside of Ireland) and the tiki bar on the harbor. Both are must-visits! We had a wonderful stay here! The room was wonderful and nice and modern. The only thing I don't love is a farmhouse door for the bathroom door and when the bathroom is facing the bed. Aside from the door, the bathroom itself was clean and the water pressure was wonderful. We didn't have a luggage rack so used an ottoman instead. We were supposed to arrive at the hotel on Friday, but arrived on a Saturday afternoon, due to a flight that was delayed because of winter weather. We knew the flight was cancelled on Wednesday late afternoon and were able to communicate to the hotel ahead of time that some of our party would be arriving on Friday and some on Saturday. They were very understanding and the check-in was easy. We stayed through the following Wednesday. The daily breakfast was nearly the same every day but always very tasty. The gym was pretty clean and offered plenty of machines and weights for guests. It was too rainy to enjoy the outdoor pool. The lobby bar area was nice, and our bartender, Megan, was lovely! We also appreciated how sweet the evening front desk clerk was to us. I think her name was Debbie. Our double queen room had a comfy couch with a pull out bed, a nice desk, and little kitchenette space. Conveniently 10 min from the airport and within walking distance of most of our Punta Gorda activities. It was a great stay, and we would definitely come back! read more

The SpringHill Suites in Punta Gorda Harborside has been fantastic. We checked in right after Hurricane Helene destroyed our house. We've been staying here since, and will be for another while. Everyone who works here has been fantastic. Tyler welcomed us when we arrived, regularly he asks how we are holding up from the hurricane devastation. Debi, at the front desk, is super friendly and easy to talk to, Louie the maintenance engineer is fantastic. He has been helpful throughout our stay, especially the day after hurricane Milton passed. Brittany and Mike provide the best breakfast in town, they are cheerful and eager to help. I also need to provide a shout out to Daniel and Carlos who do a great job keeping the hotel and the workout space looking great. All of the room attendants are also great. read more

Free wifi. Premium WiFi available for an up-charge of $10 Absolutely love the room decor. V modern. Barn-door bathroom door in the room. There is a desk area with a couch, and a glass partition that can be adjusted to separate the bedroom space from the office and sitting area. Spacious bathroom. There is a separate "beverage" area when you walk In. Fridge and microwave are discreetly hidden below it. Comfortable! Complimentary breakfast buffet with both hot and cold items, milk, juices, and coffee. 6-9am M-F. Gym! Love the gym area. I checked it out but will actually use it later this evening. Nice equipment and a decent variety for hotel. Bar downstairs is open until 10pm. 10/10 recommend and would stay again. read more

Occasion: Surprise visit to see my Grandmother This one was a tough one to write because the hotel is beautiful and in a fantastic location. The room had a lovely view of the harbor; the water pressure in the shower was good; the bed was comfy; they had an internet TV; breakfast was good and had a nice selection. Seemingly perfect, so why only three stars? Because I stayed for two nights and both mornings I discovered that housekeeping had shorted me something that I needed. The first night I woke up with no conditioner in the shower dispenser; I stopped by the desk and a pretty apathetic woman assured me that they would refill and check the container in case the dispenser was the problem. Well, they did that but the next morning when I woke up to make my coffee I discovered that they had left me extra K-cups but no sweetener and not enough creamer. Ugh! So they were 0 for 2 on me having what I needed in the morning. Would I recommend/stay here again? Probably, but I'd verify at night that I had everything I needed for the morning read more

The hotel itself is fine but there is incredibly loud music across the street. It was so loud at nearly midnight it was impossible to sleep. I like music but the sound was so loud it seemed to come from our room. Terrible. Avoid this place, especially on weekends. read more

My first high point is something that I never thought I'd discuss in a review as a high point: the toilet paper. Hands down the softest hotel toilet paper I've ever had. Other high points: the room was nicely furnished, the tv moved so you could see it from different points in the room, there was excellent water pressure in the shower, the bed was comfy, and the front desk staff was very friendly. Down sides: my bathroom was out of conditioner and shower fell, which was really disappointing because they were good ones, and it's not like you can call the front desk when you are in the middle of your shower to let them know that you are out. My other down side was that while the free lobby breakfast was tasty, it was not organized well and was kind of chaotic so people jumped in and out of line in front of other people. read more

This is a stupid thing for anyone to do but especially stupid for a hotel--towels are waxy and smell like fabric softener. We have family in the area and visit Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte often. We have always stayed in another hotel near the other bridge, and it's cheaper, but tired. So, when we saw this beautiful hotel on-line, with the capability of sleeping 6 people in a room, we had to try it (turns out it was only 4 of us, but the accommodations are just fine for up to 6). First, LOVE the modern touches! Love all the USB ports! Love the lighting behind the beds! LOVE the sleeper couch with the trundle! Love the fact that there are smoked glass panels on the desk that separates the room subtly. Love the barn doors on the bathroom. I read a lot of other reviews and it seems that guests were disappointed about no conditioner in the dispenser. We don't expect shampoo and conditioner from any hotel and always bring our own, so that was definitely NOT an issue for us. Oh, yes; the elevator is a little slow - but I cannot justify taking any stars off for that. When we checked in, it was like they knew who we were. All I did was show my ID, and was handed the keys. It took approximately 3 minutes to check in! There is a small "store" on site. There is a bar on site!!! There is free breakfast! It is sparkling clean everywhere. But my FAVORITE thing . . . and ladies I think you'll agree with me - the little black towel in the bathroom! What a brilliant idea! I cannot tell you how many times, after showering, I'll dry my face and eyes with a big white towel, leaving black eyeliner/mascara on it. The little black towel, to me, went above and beyond. For real! Like I said in my survey from the hotel, I will only be staying at the SpringHill Suites when I visit my family on the west coast. Price is great. Location is AWESOME. And yes, there is even a view of the Peace River :) read more

I highly recommend this property if you are looking for nicer than average accommodations at a fair price in the Punta Gorda area. I've stayed at many Marriott-operated properties over the years and this is one of my favorites. All staff was friendly and super professional - from the front desk employees to housekeeping to the bar/breakfast staff. The rooms were modern and clean. Breakfast is included with the room price and is very good. The location is also excellent - there is easy access to major roadways, parking is plentiful and it's an easy walk to some great restaurants/bars in Downtown Punta Gorda as well as the waterfront/marina. Another plus is the complimentary water bottles, which is rare these days. My only minor complaint is that I wish there was some type of shade or umbrellas around the pool. read more

Spring Hill Suites by Marriott Large room - called a Stay Suite Modern decor - West Elm furniture Nice beds with reading lights installed Microwave, Fridge Sofa is made by West Elm - it's a little awkward as a sofa but pulls out and makes a sleeper. Tv placement is a little strange but can be pulled out and positioned to allow viewing from bed or sofa. Large bathroom with a modern looking barn door style sliding door Large comfortable shower with dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner BUT conditioner was empty. (Loses a star here)BUT housekeeping refilled it upon request. (Gets their Star back) Closet is large. Sort of a small walk-in Beds are comfortable. Nice work desk. Lots and lots of charging ports for phones and laptops Housekeeping staff friendly and very helpful. Location is very convenient. We walked everywhere. 15 minute cab ride from the airport. read more

I was expecting so-so, but actually the hotel is quite nicely set up from top to bottom. Most importantly, while the room was overall average size, the way that it was designed they really maximized the feel in many ways for people to get the most use out of it, same way that they have the lobby set up. Hard to describe, but basically my wife and I were pleasantly surprised, very impressed, good value, and would not only go back to that hotel, would look for this brand now other times we travel just based on this hotel and experience. read more

The room was small for a king and the pillows were way too soft. The breakfast buffet and coffee were really good. We only got one towel per person so a few extra towels would have been nice. The sage body wash in the shower and the USB ports were a plus. It would be nice if they had benches to sit on in the front of the hotel. read more

Great room and great price. Super comfy bed and pillows. I have a 5 year old so I didn't like not having a bath tub but we made due. Pool area was very clean and pool was heated. Only downfall was the small parking lot and on the first night there were several vehicles that were parked sideways taking up more than one space. Highlight of our entire stay was Mary Beth. Our talkative and rambunctious 5 year old encountered her in the pool are and MB told her she had some printed coloring pages that we could come by the bar area to get. After dinner we stopped by to get the pages and get a drink. We all ended up sitting there for about an hour. Mary Beth was amazing and helpful. Definitely the best part of our stay. read more

My husband and I stayed here on Monday August 27th. The hotel seems new, it's very clean and nicely done. The room was very nice with 4, yes I said 4 outlets in the bathroom as well as multiple USB ports and outlets throughout the spacious room. It is located within walking distance of several restaurants. It's location makes it a nice place to stay before an early flight out from Punta Gorda airport. They have a small bar and snack area where we grabbed a glass of wine, they offer breakfast here as well however our flight was too early for us to partake. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was quite good and the hotel has a full bar, which is not common with this chain. Modern, new and in a great location to walk to several good restaurants. This is a tough one to review. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is brand new and fresh! Customer service however was Terrible with a capital T. After standing around for a bit, we were greeted by what we later found out was the bartender. She was very kind and hospitable. She'd actually run over to ua at the front desk after making a drink for someone at the bar. A few minutes in another young lady rushed up to join her saying, "I've got it!" This young lady began to check one of my coworkers in very loudly. She was talking a mile a minute about random things and didn't pay attention to the job. She checked me in as well. I let her know that I'd called earlier to request a bathtub and was told by a gentleman that I was all set. She told the entire lobby rather loudly that they would NEVER accommodate a request like that when booking through a 3rd party. "Are you sure?" I asked. "NEVER!" she replied adamantly. Lol I'm not sure what was going on with her but she wasn't messing around. She hadn't given me my room key and struck up a conversation with someone else. I just stood there confused. She looked back and said, "Can I help you?" I respond, "My room key please." She then moves back and forth behind desk several times and rushes out in front of me. Again with the big voice and back to the friendly personality, she tells the lobby, "Well ladies, you're here for 3 nights so..." My coworker interrupted to say, "No, 1 night." The hotel rep then said, "Well fine then! Guess I was wrong!" She shoved my key toward me and marched purposefully away from the lobby. Worst part, she charged my coworker for the room that had been paid for on Oct 29 with a company card. Instead of apologizing or admitting to the mistake to resolve it, she insisted that all bookings through 3rd party websites are paid day of. I returned to the lobby to resolve the issue and show our confirmation # as well as ask why the two others on the reservation were not charged if that was the policy. To my dismay, there were 5 ppl in the line ahead of me and she was handling 2 calls with obviously disgruntled guests. She was rolling her eyes and neck, smacking her lips, slamming the phone down. Just a wreck. I eventually was able to speak with and presented the issue in the calmest way possible. Initially she did not understand, because she was not listening. She constantly cut me off and kept telling me she needed to attend to other guests. After some time and the showing of emails, confirmations etc, she finally got it. She began to apologize profusely, promising to make ot right ny any means. She kept telling me she was going to bill Expedia for the room even though we'd booked through Hotels.com and paid a month prior. She also promised to get a Visa gift card for the amount charged for the guest in question. This was her resolve because the money had been taken from a CashApp prepaid debit card. Once it's gone, it's gone. She went to.the back to call her general manager. She came back and assured me that they'd have the card the next day. The next morning, I spoje with 2 gentlemen in regards to the situation. We went to work ans drove all the way back to the hotel only to be told by Archie the general manager and Tyler who I'd spoken to myself that they had no idea what we were talking about. Archie said he had no knowledge of the situation at all and offered a $25 gift card to a restaurant across the street. To date, my coworker has not received a refund, credit or gift card and this general manager never reached out. Terrible with a capital T. Issa no for me dog. Never again. read more

This property is actually very nice but I would NEVER recommend this place and would certainly not return. The day after I checked out I received an email with my folio receipt. I confirmed a zero balance at checkout, as I prepaid, so I was surprised to see charges to my room in error. I called and spoke to Becca to alert her to this credit card fraud. She was not concerned in the least, did not apologize, and told me to call Monday 12/31. When I called on 12/31 I spoke with Rachel who offered no apology and actually spoke in an accusatory tone as if I made the charges. They have no receipt, my signature appears nowhere. Marriott needs to institute a strong ID check for all room charges and they need to counsel employees in proper etiquette and the seriousness of credit card fraud. I am a Marriott rewards member and know how guests should be treated. This place has horrible guest rapport. Two employees should be fired. read more

Stayed here during the coronavirus pandemic, we were househunting. Absolutely impeccable room, clean, beautiful, Very modern and well appointed. Staff was incredible. Always went the extra mile to help us out, make sure that we were comfortable. Special mention to Archie who was an absolute champ the entire time we visited. Definitely will return. read more
