I took a recent doggie vacation to Four Points by Sheraton Punta Gorda, which was a comfortable and enjoyable stay for me and my dog, Biggie Smalls. The front desk staff was welcoming upon check in and gave me a $6 coupon for the restaurant that I forgot to use for breakfast and you can't use it on cocktails. The rooms were sparkling clean with more than enough room for my dog's crate and my luggage. The bathrooms were bright and I liked the rainfall shower with awesome water pressure. The location made it really easy to explore the area. There was a really cute dog park only 10 minutes drive away. The water views next to the hotel were also great and nice to stroll in the evening when I arrived and the next morning. I would happily stay here with my dog again. read more

I paid for a room with a view of the marina. The only way to see the marina was through a long line of palm trees. I ask for a different room with an actual view of the water. I was charged almost $100.00 more. I did not know about until I check my credit card statement. I called and they said "I requested an upgrade." I replied, "I requested exactly what was advertised, a view of the marina and water." The manager was extremely rude. I cannot express how mad and extremely offended I was. I am also a Marriott member. No Longer !!!!!!!!! Stay any where but here. They also serve their food out of food trucks in back parking lot. Their restrooms are like a concerts. stay away from this hotel. stayed 2nights 6/15-6/18 was given a room on the 5th floor. Thermostat never went lower than 76 and when I complained they said it was working fine. Not to mention the went into the room before we checked out and removed food from the refrigerator read more

This would have been a great review except for a couple reasons. The room was clean and comfortable and had zero problems with room. I expected to get breakfast but instead they had an over-priced cafe in the lobby. Did not eat there. The one thing that blew the entire stay and I will not come back is parking at the hotel. They have 40 spaces dedicated to hotel guests and issue mirror hanger passes to guests - but they do not patrol the parking lot or have any controls on it and everyone in the town knows it. There were 9 guests of the hotel that were able to park - all others were downtown guests. They have a field on the side they allow parking in but it was full of Tiki bar guests. I was unable to park on site when I returned at 7pm. Notified the General Manager and heard nothing in regards to my complaint. I have been a guest at this hotel on numerous occasions but will not return. read more

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend while visiting family in the area. The hotel is nicely situated between the bridges on the Peace River. It is convenient to walk to most everything restaurant downtown which we did several evenings barring the occasional pop up thunderstorm. Parking is convenient behind the hotel in a private lot. The nearby Tiki bar hosts events in the weekends but the hotel does a great job of saving parking spots for their guests and we never had an issue. Those same events though can generate some noise in the rooms if you don't care for that particular genre of music. Our nautically themed corner room in the 4th floor had commanding views of the river. The bed was perhaps too soft and cushy for my liking but I had no trouble getting to sleep. There is convenient power in the bedside lamps to charge all your electronics and plenty of channels to flip through on the large screen TV. We didn't eat at the hotel but the lobby bar looked inviting and offered dining specials a couple of evenings we were there. The staff were all friendly and helpful lending to an all around pleasant stay. read more

very nice hotel, had dinner for christmas in the hotel which was very convenient. they had a fixed menu, everything was pretty good. we had salmon and the scallops, some chicken tenders must say pretty good. the rooms were clean and we love that they are pet friendly ( even though we didn't bring a pet we loved seeing how welcomed they were!) right outside they had the docks and a tiki bar with live music which was a really nice after dinner activity. especially being christmas there was not much to do everything was closed but our hotel was definitely the spot! would definitely recommend and would stay again! :-) read more

Older property that's been remodeled. But if you're driving your own car and staying through the weekend you should look elsewhere. They issue you a parking placard on checkin to hang from your mirror so you think there's parking reserved for hotel guests. That would be wrong. There seems to be live music out back at the Tiki Bar on the weekend and when you return to the hotel all the primary lot spots are taken, all the backup lot spots are taken and you can park in a swamp several hundred yards away. A quick trip to the front desk and you learn all of the parking surrounding the hotel is open to the public. I've never been to a Marriott property that didn't provide parking for their guests. I will not be returning to this hotel. I recommend you don't either. read more

Shout out to Lauren at the front desk who helped me on Memorial Day! I ordered pizza for the little party I was hosting at the pool area, I was in a pickle as the pizza place I ordered from forgot to send paper plates/napkins. Lauren went above and beyond to get me paper plates and napkins. She was so friendly and hospitable! I would give it more stars but our room didn't have any body wash or shampoo when we checked in and when we went to breakfast on Memorial Day (morning) it was chaotic as the server took forever to bring me my toast and bacon, way after my eggs and potatoes were dropped off. They also ran out of coffee, juice, and ice water by 10:15 AM. The coffee in the lobby was also out, coffee is so important in the morning! Make two pots at a time so you always have a backup, that's what we did when I worked for a catering company. I'm unsure if they're understaffed, but it wasn't a great experience overall. There was also a lot of drilling in the morning, found out they're doing construction on the 4th floor that starts pretty early. Hoping it gets better as we like to stay close to the Tiki Bar when in town visiting family. read more

Great location right on the harbor. Close to restaurants, fisherman's walk and other attractions. Giving a three star because of the actual service at the hotel. First of all we booked a "harbor view" king but the only thing we could see was the palm trees in front of our window. Then we were informed upon arrival that service on rooms were by request only and then only every other day. That was fine since we were staying for 5 nights we figured we would request it in the middle and be good. We had to request it 4 times over two days before someone actually showed up, and they still didn't clean, just changed towels out. The other issue was the care of the hotel itself. The hallways and elevators were filthy, never vacuumed or swept up, there was a consistent chemical smell from somewhere on our floor that was annoying and the staff seemed to not care less. Will skip this place next trip and go somewhere else. read more

Arrived at our hotel room to find there were repairs that needed to be done on the walls, a hook broken in the bathroom, and room smelled musty. My daughter jumped onto her bed as she normally does and was rolling around in her sheets. Luckily the window was open and light was shining in or we would've never noticed her comforter was completely moldy inside. It was both disgusting and very concerning. This caused panic as we wondered if the pillows were moldy inside as well with no way to see inside. We told hotel personnel promptly. They gave us a voucher for a free breakfast. During the night it was hard to sleep because our room stayed abnormally hot. Our lowest temp was maxed out at 73 degrees. Pillows on the beds flattened out like sheets of paper. Blankets were like sandpaper. Finally, morning arrived with minimal water pressure for showering. Not fun, as Punta Gorda had been feeling like more than 100 degrees and we just wanted to wash away the hot day. After showering, we headed down to check out the breakfast menu. My husband ordered baked eggs, to which they were put of. We all decided on belgian waffles. After 30 mins 2 orders of belgian waffles arrived, ice cold. 5 more minutes , my husbands arrived, again cold. She remarked that they only had one waffle maker and could only make one at a time. While eating, we noticed a guest asked for a couple of drinks from the bar. There were no bartenders so another staff member tried to assist. The guest remarked that he wanted some drinks that she was pouring his specialty drinks in the wrong glasses. She went back to ​the glass cabinet only to return saying a lot of glasses in the cabinet were broken and had been left in there. I would never stay at this establishment again. read more

This was the worst experience of my entire life and the biggest mistake I've ever made. I booked this hotel for the weekend of my wedding. Months in advance I booked their "bridal suite" which was the only 2 bedroom suite the hotel had. I also guaranteed the hotel that I would have 20 rooms booked for them the night of my wedding. I was given a "discount" of $350 a night for my room if I could get my guests to book there. Needless to say, their hotel was completely sold old because of my guests and family. I showed up the night before my wedding with my daughter and mother. I'm given keys to my "suite". I go up to a room that smells like old socks and is extremely small. This room is considered their "guest room" as listed online. It's the cheapest room their hotel has. I went down to the front desk and was treated poorly by a heavy set blonde woman named Jaime. She told me she was the manager and proceeded to yell at me telling me the room I had is the only room available. I showed her my confirmation and she denied it being real. She told me an "ambassador" was staying at the hotel and that is now their room. I cried in the middle of the lobby and explained to them that this was my wedding night and why it meant so much to them. Jamie could careless. She handed me the number for the GM and said I can figure it out on Monday, which was 3 days away and obviously after my wedding. On checkout day, my guests had a lot of negative things to add. 2 guests went down for breakfast at 8am and when they returned their items were removed from their rooms and thrown in the hallways. (Their checkout wasn't until 10am). Other guests said that Jamie was also rude to them when she found out that they were related to me. They said she had a terrible attitude and felt like she was going out of her why to treat them poorly. One family member stayed that she had my name on a piece on paper at the front with incriminating things written next to it. I've stayed at this hotel several times before and have never once been this disappointed. I don't recommend any ever staying here. It's the worst money ever spent. read more

We used the hotel just as a place to sleep, so can't comment on the pool or food. The hotel is shoe-horned onto a tiny lot and we could hardly turn into the lobby drive to drop off bags. Parking is limited behind the hotel and at 10 pm we got the last space. The economical use of space continues inside (was Ikea a design consultant?) and the lobby, bar & restaurant are really compact. We got the feeling we were on a boat. My first impression of our room was "dorm room!" (This place is small and only lacks the loft bed)--could hardly walk between the bed and desk, and had to carry my suitcase past. Maybe, with the nautical interior design theme, they meant it to feel like being in a cruise ship cabin? The king bed was comfortable, but a little too firm, with great pillows that were king-size (yes! Way to go, Sheraton!). Great sheets, too! The room was quiet and very clean (the most important thing). Great towels, lots of hot water and a great shower, and good bathroom lighting. Whoa!... very slippery bathroom floor when wet! The three electrical outlets over the desk were all broken (each one was so loose, plugs would fall out--very odd). Very convenient location, but a bit difficult to get in and out of (mazelike... you'll understand when you leave). read more

This is likely your best hotel option in the area. My grandmother lives in Punta Gorda, and when I searched for hotels - this had the highest rating. It wasn't a bad experience at all. I had booked two nights complimentary with my Starwood points. I was able to check in right away and was greeted by a nice young lady. My room was a decent size, and had everything I needed. I had a view of the ocean across the street, too! There are only four floors so it doesn't take very long in the elevators to get to where you need to go. The Internet works fine, and overall the stay was fairly easy. The fitness center was on the smaller size, but had everything you needed. The ocean is accessible right from the hotel, the pool is small and not very resort like. Speaking of resorts... When I checked out, I was told that I had to pay an $11 resort fee. I thought that was interesting since it didn't really include any amenities that resorts usually have. The guy who checked me out explained that this is very new and a lot of people have been complaining, so if I wanted the managers email address I could complain to get my money back. Honestly, it was only $11 so I wasn't going to waste my time to do that - but I realized why people would be upset about that. I guess, just because there is direct beach access from the hotel. Keep that in mind. I opted for the breakfast buffet the next morning, and that was a huge mistake. They were out of everything, and the food was not tasty at all. Definitely find a different breakfast spot. There is a really fun tiki bar called "TT's." The food is also not very good, but it's fun to grab a cocktail right outside on the water parallel to the boardwalk. It's fun to people watch. I went there with my grandmother and her boyfriend. The first night there I actually decided to spend at my grandmothers house, but the second night I stayed at the hotel and it was lovely. The checkout process was easy. They give you a parking pass and you can park in the parking lot. For the price, it is a fine stay. The hotel was really busy when I was there, which is always a good sign. read more

A newer hotel in Downtown Punta Gorda, the Four Points by Sheraton is rather nice. It has a fairly subdued nautical theme and feel to the entirety of the hotel. The staff are very nice and are more than willing to help you with any questions you may have. Located off the main lobby, you will find a restaurant, gym, pool, and communal television and public internet area. The layout is rather nice. The room continues the nautical theme and is set-up in a rather cozy manner. Being in Downtown, one can walk to many of the local restaurants that are popular with the local population. The best part of this hotel is the ability to walk along the Peace River and Charlotte Harbour. Did I mention they are pet friendly? read more

I was very worried to travel outside my hometown during COVID. But when we arrived at Four Points by Sheraton in Punta Gorda I was relieved. Before Covid we would travel to Florida often, but this was by far one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in. I don't know if they use bleach but I smelled it and I appreciate it because that's what I use at home. The bathroom was immaculate and the bedroom sheets smelled fresh. I believe Sheraton raised their standards during Covid and exceeded my picky expectations. read more

They entered my room without notifying me while I was away with my do not disturb sign up. Furniture was removed and carpet was apparently replaced. When I asked, management stated they were doing renovations to the hotel. So it was not an emergency, they just apparently thought it was okay to do it while it was occupied by a guest. My personal belongings were touched/moved and the room was left with pieces of furniture in walkways. Furthermore, This hotel is outdated, overpriced, and both rooms I've been in strongly smell like dogs. Parking is hard because the property also has a tiki bar that is open to the public. This hotel is easily a 5 Yelp star hotel, but unfortunately their internet connection is so slow I was unable to work. Since this is a really big deal for me, as well as a feature that must be standard with every hotel these days, I'm knocking off one full star. The service throughout the hotel is nothing short of amazing. We arrived around noon and none of the rooms were available due to a full hotel the day before. The cleaners worked quickly to prepare a room for us while we went out for lunch. They were very friendly and joked with us as we entered the room. Then for breakfast we arrived at 10:07, or 7 minutes after they closed. We were still allowed to sit down and the food was excellent. The waitress, Crystal, was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. I have to admit that my expectations were really low for this hotel and this area in general. I was pleasantly surprised, and should I have to come back to this godforsaken part of the earth, this is where I'll make my temporary home. TIP: I booked online and paid only $104 versus the walk-in rate of $139. read more
