HNL Studios...how can I even describe how God has blessed my husband and me by finding such an…read moreamazing business to handle our wedding photography/videography?   I initially found HNL Studios years ago through an old classmate of mine; I loved the style of her wedding photos and I wanted something similar for when I got married.  So I followed them on instagram.  Fast forward 4 years later and I got engaged.  I'm the type of girl who has had her dream wedding planned in her head since she was 6 years old and I just knew that I had to have HNL Studios to do photography/videography, so I literally contacted them and my dream venue within a week of getting engaged.  My husband and I got married exactly within a year of our engagement; during that time, Keshia and Charles made it almost effortless to plan our wedding.  They were always willing to answer any silly questions we had and we had great vibes during our planning meetings. Let's fast forward to the day of the wedding.  I have no idea how Charles and his team do it, but they made everything super easy and seamless.  The photographers and videographers know exactly how to direct the couple, wedding party, etc. especially when there are some super camera-shy people.  The videographers really know how to capture the couple's love story within a few minutes.  The photobooth staff was so professional and fun, it was such a big hit at the reception.  Not to mention the props are super fun!  Romeo Valentine was super great with emceeing/DJ'ing our reception - shoe game ftw!  Such a great team and professional staff! Fast forward to our gallery and wedding video reveal.  Again, I have no idea how they did it, but they managed to capture all the warmth and fun that we had on our wedding day.  It was so hard for me to pick only 120 pictures for our wedding album because so many of the pictures were spectacular and eye-catching.   I know that wedding photography/videography packages can be very expensive, but trust me, this was worth every single penny.  What's amazing about HNL Studios, is that weddings are THEIR THING.  The heart and intentionality that is put behind every wedding that they capture is evident in the quality of the photos and videos they produce. My fiance and I took our engagement photos in January and we LOVE how our photos turned out! It was exactly what I wanted and they captured both us and the beautiful scenery perfectly! Very disappointed. Referred as a friend of a friend. Bought most expensive package, was told 1-2…read morehrs for sitting time. Asked specifically for beach, sunny, natural shots with NO rocks. Just "having fun at the beach for our vacation". She recommended around 5 pm for lighting. When arrived at site, lots of rocks, over cast and not the nice bright mid day sun but late afternoon light, but last opportunity on island due to her availability. Felt rushed. Spent less than one hour for photos. It truly felt like she had somewhere else to be. Lack of patience with special needs child, barely interacted with us, cold, and very uncomfortable. Many opportunities to get natural shots of the children looking for shells and that was not done either. Children afterward complained that it was "weird" when taking individual shots because she did not help them feel comfortable. Pictures included, feet getting cut off, arms in awkward positions for children, and contrived poses. When she heard we were upset, she offered us a discount on another product. When we received those pictures, they were grainy and were sent in a soft envelope which caused two of the corners to be very bent. Our personal pictures turned out better than these. Terrible experience and would NOT recommend.
