James is especially bubbly and was so kind in helping me fluff my wedding dress and bringing my partner and me water during our photoshoot. The Vivid Foto's Team is the best! I first saw their portfolio from A Perfect Day's workshops. Their style of photography is unique and signature edits are amazing! From the moment I contacted them via their site, Melissa has been excellent in responding to emails. I arranged to meet with Melissa and Crysta for a complimentary initial meeting, we talked about their wedding packages, edits, details, etc. and went over other options. They showed me some photos and a sample wedding guestbook with photos from another couple's engagement shoot. I knew at that moment, we needed to hire them! We added on an engagement shoot as well, giving us an opportunity to become comfortable with being photographed (and to learn various lovey-dovey poses). We scheduled our engagement shoot about 6 months prior to our wedding, which also happens to be prime holiday season! Melissa and Balbino arrived just before us and texted us that they were there. Melissa took care of the permit while we chatted with Balbino. Both were so nice and made us feel super comfortable. They taught us typical, fun playful, and lovey-dovey poses, giving us positive reinforcements throughout the entire time! It took about 3 weeks (again, during prime holiday season) to get our all our "lightly edited" photos back. Melissa was so accommodating to our busy schedule since my now husband, and I were both unable to make any of the dates and times she proposed. She offered to meet us in town, brought us headsets and played a short video of our shoot. Every photo was beautiful, even the ones I thought weren't going to look amazing somehow did! We also ended up ordering a "Well Wishes" guestbook for our wedding with photos from our engagement shoot. Crysta was so helpful when going back and forth making changes to photos, wording, fonts, etc. The site they use is extremely user friendly and will allow you to make suggestions, comments and finalize the entire book prior to it being ordered. During our wedding day, they arrived right on time and went to work capturing all my bridal details and the two of us getting ready. We did a father/daughter first look, a bride/groom first look, portraits of bride and groom and (tons of) family photos. Melissa and Crysta were so accommodating and patient with our big group photos and were so generous with their time. About a week after our wedding, we were sent a preview of about 15 photos, a nice surprise to keep the wedding bliss going. Then about a month later, Mel contacted us to get together. She presented us with another short video and a thumb drive with all of our 600 something edited files and a stack of 4x6 photos in a beautiful box. Having recently gotten married but with no engagement photos, I searched high and low for a reputable photographer on Instagram. Eventually I ended up on Vivid Fotos Instagram page (@vivid_fotos) and fell in love with their work. Their pictures were absolutely amazing and the owners seemed like genuine people. I messaged them and the owner Melissa responded right away and answered my questions. We agreed on two locations and a date. Little did I know the covid lockdown was right around the corner. We ended up having to reschedule. Melissa was open to rebooking when the state and we were ready. Over a year and a half later or so, I finally emailed her again and told her we were ready so we set a new date. The day of the shoot, another company I had booked for hair and makeup failed to show and instead sent a free lancer in their place. Because of such, we were 20/30 min late in meeting Melissa but she didn't miss a beat and got started right away when we arrived. When it came time to find a wedding photographer my husband and I met with lot of different people and when we met with the Vivid Team we knew right away they were the ones for us. Melissa and Balbino were the best wedding vendors! It started from when I made my first inquiry on their website. I recall submitting it late Saturday night, hoping to get a reply by early next week... but Melissa emailed me that night! This is how our relationship has been since. They are always quick to respond and are on top of it. It's really important to feel comfortable with your photographers since they are basically glued to you the entire wedding day. For most of us, we are not used to having a camera in our face for more than a few minutes of day, nonetheless for 8+ hours. We opted for the package that included 8 hours and videography with another local company (10th Letter Media), recommended by VividFotos. Our package included an Engagement session that we had about 8 months before our wedding. Balbino was laying and sometimes crawling on the sand to get those magnificent shots. We used the amazing pictures for our Save the Date Cards. Even the in between time leading up to the wedding, Melissa was in contact with us checking in on us. The week before the wedding, they event sent us a HANDWRITTEN CARD WITH A STARBUCKS GIFTCARD! They told us to go have a cup of coffee on them - without talking/stressing about the wedding. How thoughtful! Even though our package included 8 hours, Melissa and her team spent near 10 hours I would say on our wedding. All the pictures were amazing, and even made the shots with rain look spectacular. When the pictures were ready, Melissa made an amazing slideshow of the pictures. She also developed about 150 of the pictures and put them in this cute box with their fancy USB drive (with all the pictures). VividFotos not only takes great pictures, but their presentation is great! They go all out on the packing - from start to finish - great experience. Even with all my comments and edits to our wedding album - Melissa was quick to respond and make the changes. I just picked up the album last weekend and it is perfect! We got our wedding pictures proofs in less than 2 months and the finished album in about 3.5 months from the wedding. Talk about efficient! Wow, where do I even start? The VIVIDfotos team is absolutely amazing. They always went above and beyond our wishes. They always exceeded our expectations. I recommend that first figure out your budget for your wedding/photoshoot, etc. and then have the majority of the budget go toward VIVIDfotos because they are worth . . . EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. When we first started to think of who to pick as our wedding vendors, I knew photography/videography had to be at the top of our priority list. I have a handful of family members that were both professional and amateur photographers, but I did not want any of my family members to work on our wedding day so that they can just enjoy themselves. This meant that we couldn't just use ANY photographer/videographer for our wedding. I needed to feel confident that who we use would not only just have the ability to do what my family photographers can do, but exceed that. So, that's when I looked to social media (primarily Instagram) to check out which companies had a great portfolio online. Of course, there are many talented and great photographers/videographers almost everywhere you look, but I felt like many of the shots looked very similar to what my family members are able to do. On our wedding day, we had Mel, Crysta, and a couple other of their teammates help us capture what we were able to see and what we weren't able to see via photography/videography/photo booth. I don't know what else to say other than they nailed it! Mel was pregnant on our wedding day, but she was still able to get on the floor and shoot like it's nothing. How amazing is she?! There were multiple last-minute changes on our wedding day due to less than ideal weather, but VIVIDfotos effortlessly adjusted to make it look like everything was meant to be that way. A friend of mine gave a me a gift certificate for a free engagement session with VIVIDfotos last year - My fiance and I were so excited because it was one less thing to worry about regarding our wedding planning, which is scheduled for August this year. Scheduling a date was easy - but of course, we called Melissa mid-last year to choose a date in November so to give us more than enough time. But after talking with my fiance, we decided to reschedule it for January instead. That gave us some time to put in a few exercise sessions and be in top shape for the photo shoot. Even with their busy schedule, Melissa gladly rescheduled which was perfect. The day of our January shoot turned out to be a rainy weekend and Melissa was able to accommodate and reschedule yet again! My fiance and I were getting nervous... we hoped 3rd time's the charm. Finally, on the 3rd rescheduled shoot, the weather turned out awesome. A few clouds here and there, but sunny none-the-less. We met Balbino and Melissa at Sandy Beach and they were awesome from the get go. My fiance and I had no idea how to pose and what to do, but their guidance helped us a lot. They made it less awkward, cracking jokes in between the shots. We felt at ease within minutes. After about two weeks, we met up with them at their home/work studio to go over the final, enhanced photos. They showed us a slideshow first, which was so nice and professional and went great with the adorable song playing in the background, which by the way reminds me that I should find out the song name and artist again. They told us that night, but I forgot to write it down. After that they went over the prices for each of the packages, making sure we understand what we get for the price we are paying for. Of course, we got the most popular one! It included all the negatives, a larger canvas print and two smaller metal prints. We were super happy with how the photos turned out and with the service that Balbino and Melissa provided. Certain places where you wouldn't think would look nice in photographs turned out to be great! After several bridal expos and attending the Wedding Cafe's photography workshop, we chose Vividfotos to be our wedding photographers. We loved their vintage, yet modern/rustic look for photos and we fell in love with their signature edits at their bridal expo booth. We thought being in front of the cameras would be odd since we're pretty shy people, but Mel & Bal never made us once feel awkward; instead it felt like you were doing a photoshoot with friends, which helped cause I'm totally bad at following directions LOL. Following the photoshoot, we were impressed by the quick turnaround for the photos. The photos turned out great and we loved that the how the colors were so vivid (their name is fitting). At that point, we booked VividFotos for our wedding day. Closer to the wedding date, we booked a second photoshoot following my wife's make up trial. This time around, Bal was the primary shooter. He was very easy to work with and we instantly felt that same comfort level as with Melissa. The photos turned out just as great as the first photoshoot with the same quick turnaround. On our wedding day, we had VividFotos booked for a full day package. Melissa and Bal were the main shooters with Crysta present for support. The three of them were so much fun and easy to work with. They created such a fun environment. Since we had two engagement sessions with them prior to the wedding we were comfortable with their work style and it made us feel much more natural in front of the camera. I don't even know where to begin. Melissa & Balbino more than exceeded our expectations. From working with us from so far away (we are in CA they are in HI) to keeping in great contact (quick and thorough) to helping plan the day (helping us come up with a timeline as we couldn't afford a wedding planner and we wanted to make the best use of the time we had them). They were also ready and willing to roll with whatever was thrown at them (anything and everything went wrong that day). We were so pleasantly surprised to see SO many awesome shots, we didn't think it was even possible with everything that was going on. They were super quick and extremely professional. They also suggested a post bridal shoot (to get more intimate pics of us and our daughter) because our time at the venue was short. Those pics are what we will treasure forever. We are so so thankful they convinced us to do it because they are such a sweet memory, captured beautifully. We were leaving a week after the wedding but they had the best surprise waiting for us because they had all the editing done (SO fast!!), had a slideshow ready complete with music (that made me want to cry), and even went so far as to have some prints for us! Melissa and Balbino were absolutely wonderful to work with! They captured our wedding day and also did a trash the dress session with us! Our wedding photos turned out beautifully and we received all of our photos (including trash the dress) about 1 month after the wedding. We love all of the photos so much; we've had a hard time narrowing down our favorites for the photo book that they included in our package. We wanted to do an underwater trash the dress shoot and our photos turned out so much better than we could have imagined! It was a ton of fun and I highly recommend it to anyone who is brave enough to take the fanciest swim of your life!
