I rarely take the time to write reviews unless it is truly phenomenal and monkey man definitely deserves my time and an outstanding review! First of all, his reviews already spoke for themselves, so I took his impeccable history and decided to give him a call. I then realized that I didn't need to look into any other vendors because this was the guy I needed. When I called him, he answered the phone and willingly offered to help out. He was willing to come that same day or later in the week, but that wasn't going to work for me so we were able to plan for the next week. Don't forget to message and follow up with him because he's a busy man! On the day of the project he was a little behind, but nothing crazy, and I rather have someone with a great attitude and very reasonable price versus someone more prompt but charges an arm and a leg. The most impressive characteristic about monkey man is that he was willing to support the youth that we were sending to a conference. I ended up giving him more $ than he requested because I know the job he did was way beyond what he asked. I looked into renting a lift, but that was really pricey, and I would still need to get a chainsaw and be careful with the neighbors property and cable wires so it was definitely a wise choice to hire a professional like the monkey man versus trying to possibly save money but risk my life or potentially damaging my neighbors property or something else! I've cut many trees myself, but not one of this size so having monkey man was well worth it. He even went the extra mile to make some cutting boards for the neighbors who requested. They called after their job was done and came by and cut down all of my tall trees. They were really efficient and cleaned up really really well, including taking a pile of leaves (from the palms) that I had left for the next green waste day. Although they were using my green bin to haul green waste out to their trucks, they emptied it all into their trucks and left my bin empty. The back where they were working as well as the front where they cut the trees into smaller pieces to load were cleaned up really well before leaving. Highly recommend!!

Overall, I'm very happy with how the project turned out. The installation itself went well, and the crew did a good job keeping the work areas organized and putting the yard back together after the trenching. The real test came after a heavy storm, when I noticed some pooling and settling along portions of the restored trenches. I contacted Ea, the project manager, and he took the concerns seriously. He arranged for a crew to come back out, and they ended up addressing both sides of the house. They lifted and regraded the affected sod, added material underneath to help with settling, cleaned out the drain lines, and thoroughly flushed and tested both downspouts and emitters to make sure everything was flowing correctly. Ea also followed up with photos and videos documenting the work, which I appreciated. What impressed me most was that they didn't argue about the concerns or disappear once the original job was completed. They came back, corrected the issues, tested the system, and made sure I was satisfied with the result. The drainage system is functioning properly now and the yard looks much better. Based on both the quality of the work and the way Aloha ʻĀina handled the follow-up, I would definitely recommend them.
