Despite the short event, we were able to squeeze in so many great shots. She used two cameras for our group pictures which I really appreciated. One for more close-ups and one more zoomed out. I loved that she also got a drone shot of our wedding group, and it's one of my favorites! I'm so happy she was able to capture that with our beautiful venue as well. She was also very patient with me when I needed time to coordinate a decision with my friend for whom the engagement shoot was for and answering a slough of my questions since I was not familiar nor on-site in the area. I was looking for someone who was reasonably priced and fun/reliable to work with while we were on our babymoon in Oahu. Enter Marella. She was super fast and responsive to my emails, sending me price packages and suggestions of where I could take photos based on where I was staying in Oahu. Since Marella herself is based in North Shore and there is a travel fee for her to go farther out, she mentioned to me a few of her associates and where they could take pictures with no travel costs. At first I was considering taking photos in Kailua or Lanikai since I love the aqua blue of the waters there, but Marella ended up giving me more recommendations of where we could go that was closer to our side of the island. We ended up going with her associate Michelle after looking through sample galleries of her associates' work and based on the pictures I liked from Michelle's gallery, Marella made more recommendations of where to go and what time of day to get the effect I wanted. She was never pushy for me to commit and offered me plenty of suggestions even before I booked her associate! Booking an associate is slightly cheaper than booking Marella, but she still does all the coordinating and the editing. The day before the shoot I texted Michelle to check in and made sure we were meeting at the agreed upon spot. Michelle actually wanted to meet further down the beach so it was a good thing I did check in! We had a lot of fun with her and felt very at ease during our photo session! She ended up taking a little longer than an hour because we were having fun and she had some ideas she wanted to try and we never felt rushed. Michelle would also adjust my hair or if anything looked kind of out of place and coach us when she needed to get the right angles to show off the bump. She was very professional and fun to work with and helped us incorporate a few props and specific photos I wanted! After the session, Marella did check in with us to see how it went and told us she would keep us posted on the edits. What I thought was pretty nice about her package was that with the associate package, we got to pick out 30 from our fully edited gallery, or pay an additional amount per photo, or buy the whole gallery for another $100. I think because Marella edits the whole gallery for you to choose from, her post production time ends up being longer than some other photographers. She originally said 4-5 weeks but because I was having a baby shower sooner that I wanted to use some of the photos at, she managed to get me the gallery at 3 weeks. We bought the entire gallery for the extra $100 and got almost 150 photos!! It was totally worth the extra money since I liked almost all the photos! I really appreciated her trying to figure out what I wanted as a client and being flexible to fit that. I wouldn't mind using her and her associates again in the future if I were in Oahu and needed a photo session. And I found her prices very reasonable and her work to be reliable and professional! A few of my friends who are from Hawaii even asked me to tell them more about the photographer because they liked the photos :) Thank you Marella!!

I recently took some drone lessons from Alex. It took a while to get time but it really wasn't his…read morefault. You need the optimal conditions and I valued that he made sure that the weather was perfect for my first time practicing flying my drone. My husband got me a drone about three years ago for my birthday or Christmas. It was just poor timing on his part because he gave it to me the same year we had a baby. I guess he didn't figure that having a baby would take up 100% of your time and leave no time for drone flying. Well she's three now and a lot more independent so we decided to open our drone box. Lesson #1: don't be like me and open your box three years later. We had a few batteries that wouldn't charge up because it was sitting idle for so long. Alex gave me some good recommendations of what to do and who I could possible take the batteries to check them out. I met Alex at Kawainui Model Airplane Field. I have never been there but it was a great place to learn. It was a wide open area perfect for people who are just learning. Just in case they don't know how to move their controls. Alex was a good instructor. He told me about the rules of flying and how to be cognizant of the environment around before flying. He had me do several tries of the different controls. It was a little confusing at first but he was patient. I didn't get it but he helped me understand it better by putting it into analogies. Then I kept thinking of the analogy to help me remember the controls. I learned how to control it in all directions and take a selfie. I'm glad that I took this course. My husband was super excited that I finally got to use my drone. So I showed him what I learned in class and he's hooked too. Thanks Alex for the great lesson!

I came across an ad on Facebook's Military Buy, Sell, & Trade. I liked the portfolio shown and reached out to Alexey to inquire on pricing and scheduling details. Response time was very quick and professional and pricing was very reasonable. *Note: A deposit will need to be put down.* Honestly I think more people in the service industry should do this. Think about it, it's their livelihood and if you cancel they missed on having someone one else in that slot. Alexey was so helpful in giving ideas for locations and best places/timing to capture my kiddos. We scheduled on a Friday for that Monday. A quick turn around and I was super excited yet cautious just not knowing much feedback for this photographer. I did keep my faith and it paid off! :) Alexey was prompt and sooooooo easy to work with! He was very patient with the kids, was accepting to my ideas and yet some wonderful ones of his own. He took the time to give me a wide variety to choose from and get the kids in raw moments as well as "staged." We had a great time doing the shoot, tons of giggles and smiles. Alexey was SUPER quick to turn around the images for me to choose for edit, like 24 hours or less quick. There were over 500 images to go through, picking just 10-15 was no easy task. I couldn't be more grateful for that many pictures though, he really took a lot of time for a great deal! I ended up choosing a bit more than the 15 for the extra fee and it was sooo worth it, still such a bargain! The edited photos came back quickly, and the fortunate part, due to the great job the first go around, no edits were really needed. The photos are all throughout my house and up to date, finally! While browsing on the hotel website I saw they offer photography sessions on the property with Pacific Dream Photography. I was very intrigued so I decided to reach out via email to get details and see if there was availability on the day we got married. I received a response very quickly and decided to book. The booking process was simple and efficient, so I was already impressed. Fast forward to wedding day! We decided to do a sunset photoshoot which was scheduled for 6 PM. We met our photographer, Aman, at the Pacific Dream Photography desk at the lower lobby. My husband and I both expressed to him that we weren't too comfortable in front of the camera. He led the way and gave us directions on what to do which was so nice! We got to take pictures around multiple locations of the hotel including the gazebo, lawn, beach, golf course, etc. We chatted with Aman throughout and got to learn a little about him which helped us to feel even more comfortable with him. Before we knew it our session was over and it really felt like time flew by. When we got back to the lower lobby, we scheduled an appointment with Aman to meet him the following morning to review the photos and go over the different package options. The next morning we showed up at our designated time and Aman was ready and waiting for us. We went over the different packages and decided on one that came with a certain amount of photos, a video slideshow, and print credit. After viewing all the photos, he helped us to eliminate some and compare similar ones so that we could get down to the amount that was included in our package. I am so happy we decided to do the photo session. Although we didn't have a typical wedding, it's so nice to have both the photos and slideshow to look back on and remember our special day.
