I've been living in oahu for a couple years now and diving consistently. Our family and close friend couple did many boat dives and certification courses (rescue diver, advanced open water) with Ed. He is a kind and fantastic DM/instructor who knows just the right thing to say to help a diver to overcome a hurdle and improve as a diver. Whenever a friend or co-worker visits and wants to try diving, I recommend Ed unreservedly. Another big advantage with Ed is the gears. We haven't traveled the world diving extensively but dived with different shops in Cozumel, Cancun, Florida keys, Turks and Caicos, Phillippines and here in Oahu. Our experience has been that many dive shops have rental equipments which aren't very well maintained and/or too worn out and don't pay enough attention and effort to fitting the gears to the divers. Not Ed. His rental gears are as good and well maintained as they get and he pays attention to find the right gears for each diver. It's an overall way better experience. Especially for folks living here, Ed is also the official dealer for high-quality brands including fourth element, xdeep and shearwater. He's extremely fair and really takes care of his customers. I buy from him whenever I can because I know that's the best customer service I can get anywhere (e.g. if something breaks, he wouldn't just fix them but would often lend you a replacement in the meantime). Whether you wanna try out diving or check out oahu's southern dive sites on a visit, or live here and are looking for someone who you can depend on for everything dive related as you progress as a diver, I can't think of anyone better than Ed. read more

Thanks Ed for a great couple of dives last week, during our visit to Oahu. The guiding was great. We said that at the top of our list of dive highlights would be wreck & sharks - you delivered on both & we got the added bonus of a Spotted Eagle Ray, as well as turtles aplenty. We really enjoyed the opportunity to penetrate Shark Tiger. The kit was superb - it was one of the only times we have used "rental" equipment & we were very impressed. Thanks for the use nitrox - it definitely helped with the short surface intervals between dives. This place is terrific! I normally don't write reviews, ever, but I made an exception this time. Ed is a really nice guy, very knowledgeable and experienced instructor who knows all of the dive sites around Oahu and Hawaii more broadly. He also really knows the equipment and has a lot of high end equipment that you can try before buying. He encourages you to try more advanced equipment such as the professional mask and backplate/wing style BCD and shows you how to use it, too. That's how I bought my Teric and it's working perfectly ever since. We did a deep dive and a wreck dive, and it was a great, small group. The other divers were experienced too, which was nice. All of the tanks were nitrox which optimized the bottom time. I think it would also be a good group if you want to catch a flight over to Maui or Big island for the day and dive over there. Great adventure with Ed. Started the morning on a beautiful boat charter with plenty of room for gear and tanks. Smaller group ensured safe social distancing. We had to borrow gear, and everything Ed provided was top of the line -from the ScubaPro wetsuit to the new ScubaPro Hydros BCD. Also felt comfortable with his computer set up, and now I'm thinking of buying same. Short boat ride to the shallow reef dives. Ed led us on a tour of the reef pointing out beautiful fish and coral, and even spotted some things we would have overlooked. We did a short surface interval and then jumped back in for another reef dive. Appreciated the small group size, guided dive around the reef, and Ed's technical expertise. As a result of this dive, my BF signed up for a nitrox course so we can extend our bottom time. Can't wait to go again! read more

Ed was very professional and patient! I was very concerned and worried since I haven't dive for 2 years, so I did many research before choosing who to dive with. And Ed was the best choice I've made. He gave me briefings about nitrox and the Wreck we were gonna see before heading down, and he was super nice and patient. I had my own dive computer but I didn't know how to switch it to nitrox, so he gave me his Shearwater dive computer, and let me download the datas to my phone. He made sure everything was safe and in good shape, and that I could see everything and get them in my camera. It is also very easy to book with him, responses very quickly and clear. Ed creates the best dive experiences! Im an advanced cert diver and have worked with other dive masters.. Ed is just the best ! He has a calming presence and is passionate about what he does. He offers top of the line dive gear included in price and also sells gear! If you try out something you really like, you can just ask to order it with him. Don't drop hundreds on gear from a dive shop to find out it doesn't fit right 100ft underwater. FYI to new divers- Ed can manage larger beginner groups exceptionally well. He has a great way of taking safety seriously while also keeping divers at ease and having fun. He will also point out many awesome camouflaged little critters you would never see on your own. Ed was an amazing instructor! I was recommended to him from a friend and I am so happy I chose his company to get PADI certified. Not only did he make the entire experience super fun, but I learned so much from him and had 1 on 1 instructions from him. I felt safe the entire time and was super comfortable in the water. He also has the best equipment on the entire island!!! including the best wetsuits, masks, regulators and BCDs. Having such a nice wetsuit makes such a difference. Ed came highly recommended for being an outstanding teacher with excellent quality dive gear. My girlfriend is new to diving and needs high quality wet suits to keep warm. Ed came through on all fronts with flying colors. My girlfriend's wet suit was amazing and Ed's instruction was first rate. Ed patiently and expertly guided her through her introductory dive despite her initial difficulty getting comfortable with regulator clearing and recovery. It was my first dive since the pandemic & my first dive using nitrox. Ed was very thorough in making sure I was up to speed on scuba in general, in briefing me on using nitrox, in outfitting me with his top-flight rental gear, and making sure I understood how to use it all. There were only six people in our group, all of whom were friendly and most of whom were very experienced, including one lady who dives with Ed every week. We planned the dive and dove our plan. At depth, Ed was always right there, making sure I was okay and pointing out all sorts of marine life. Ed is an amazing DM! We have now gone on multiple dives with this company and they are our #1 go to. Ed briefs the boat before each dive about what wildlife you may see, and the hand signals the DMs use to point them out. He's a wealth of marine knowledge! From soft corals, to nudibranches to shells, he's always teaching me something new. Very friendly crew as well. Today's dive we saw Spotted Eagle Rays, Octopuses, White Tip Sharks, a HUGE live cowrie shell, giant Sea Turtles, Porcupine fish, crabs, shrimp, lots of reef fish and fish nursery. All in one day! I have gone on several charters with Ed and recently did my PADI rescue class with him. It's been a spectacular experience every time! The charters are a blast and Ed knows so much about the marine life in the dive spots that he frequents. He's also so fun to chat with about scuba (especially dive gear, he knows so much!) and just generally joke around with :) I also really enjoyed him as an instructor. I had previously had a bad experience in a different rescue class and this one put all of my worries from the previous one to rest. I used Ed to obtain my advanced OW certification and still being pretty new to diving I struggled with my buoyancy and due to my large lung capacity I presented quite the challenge. By the end of my certification I was polar opposite of what I started with, I feel so much more in control, I can last longer underwater and I had an amazing time doing it to. First dove on the same boat with Ed in 2019 while he was teaching an open water course and I was doing a discover scuba dive. I was able to take in a lot of what he was instructing to his students while on the boat and his presence added to the overall experience that made me want to continue diving. The divemaster makes all the difference on a dive and he is such a positive person that I can't imagine having a bad dive on his watch. I have since enjoyed having him as my AOW instructor in 2021 and wreck diving specialty instructor in 2022 as well as some other fun dives in between.
