Great atmosphere and service with a lovely view of the water but the food is only average. Sit outside if you can!

Jessica was a very friendly server. We had the foot long hot dog, Italian sausage sandwich and the bacon cheeseburger. Everything tasted very good. It was nice and quiet...until some of the golfers came in from playing.

Ate here during a Wed. Night special for wings. Service was very slow and inattentive. Food was acceptable in taste, not the best I've ever had, not the worst. We arrived and were seated promptly. Menus were delivered after a few minutes. Wait staff said they would be right back to take our drink order. Waiting, waiting... after several minutes we were asked for our drink orders. No mention of food or specials, no chatting, appeared to be rushed, however the dinning room was not that busy, about 4 tables (one large party) and 3 servers with one bus person. After about 10 minutes later, asked us for our order. It's now probably 15-20 minutes after we arrived. We ordered the wings (hot and buffalo sauce.) Food when it was delivered was hot and pretty good. The wings could here been crisper, however the sauces were tasty. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, they were lacking taste. Should have had more seasoning before breading I think. Convenient dining option if you are at Lockwood Folly. Maybe the service is better at lunch... not impressed overall.

That alone is a bonus since the view of the dunes is lovely AND it's actually less noisy than a table in the middle of the floor. We were 4 and the other couple had not been there in quite a while. 3 of us ordered from the early menu and all the food was very good. I had the petite filet and shrimp. The filet & shrimp were done perfectly. My friend had the nut coated chicken and loved it. Her husband had the crab cake and enjoyed it with crispy onion rings. My husband had the tenderloin medallions from the regular menu and enjoyed them as always. Service was great with Cody and it's not easy in a restaurant so busy and popular. We've been going there for 20+yrs and are thrilled you can finally make reservations on line rather than having to call.

She was very kind and reassured me that the lunch crowd tends to be more casual. We were seated and served by Cody. It appeared the restaurant was a little short-staffed, as it took some time for our drinks, food, and even the check to arrive. Despite that, Cody seemed to be doing his best and remained friendly throughout our visit. As for the food, I ordered the fish and chips. It was decent, but nothing particularly memorable or something I'd go out of my way to order again. My 3-star rating is based solely on the food. The staff was pleasant and hardworking, especially considering they seemed short-handed during the lunch rush.

The atmosphere is still great, which is apparently where all the effort now goes, because the food has clearly been left unsupervised. We placed a to-go order because we had our dog with us and were sitting downstairs. Simple enough, right? Not exactly. We spent the next hour and a half playing a fun little game called "Where Is Our Food?" Downstairs told us to check upstairs. Upstairs told us to check downstairs. Very efficient system if the goal is confusion and hunger. When the food finally arrived, we had seafood chowder, onion rings, a hot dog, and hamburgers. The seafood chowder was still good, so congratulations to the chowder for surviving whatever has happened here. The onion rings were cold, the hot dog bun had a green mold spot on it -- always a nice surprise -- and the hamburger was honestly impressive in the worst possible way. I've had better burgers from fast-food chains that at least admit they're serving frozen patties. This used to be a staple. Now it feels like one of those places that got popular enough to stop trying. I won't be back for the food. Maybe drinks, because thankfully no one had to cook those.
