History

Established in 2020.

2020 was a year that changed the world. The pandemic wreaked havoc on millions of lives, including ours. After 20+ years in the hospitality industry, we found ourselves devastated by the sudden and dramatic reduction in travel around the globe. While our professional lives would be paused, we embraced the opportunity to try something new. We had always dreamed of working for ourselves in some capacity. Getting dressed, like travel, is more than just a process. It should invoke a feeling. It should be an experience. We have taken our passion for travel and applied it to a new purpose: Oak and Olive Boutique. Our roots run deep, starting in Texas and Puerto Rico and branching out to California. Our goal at Oak and Olive is to source unique, meaningful and fun attire that will give you the confidence and attitude to take on the day. Whether that's a night on the town, zooming from home or dropping the kids off at school, we have the clothing and accessories to make a statement.

Came across this place kind of by accident while driving through Johnson City. What a nice,…read moreunexpected gem. They offer wine tastings from wines around the world - not just Texas Trail wines. And they have rotating art installations, some of which were just uber cool when we stopped in (please see pics). The proprietor's Warren and his wife (sorry, I didn't get her name) were very welcoming and took time to show us around. We will definitely be back! Wine and art without pretentiousness. Yee haw!!!

Inside they have one of the largest used book/media sections you'll ever see in any thrift store. The stuff that gets donated here is usually better than what you would find at Goodwill, which means you're more likely to come across unique and valuable finds. You'll also find every imaginable knickknack under the sun here for office home and hardware use. In the back room, there's bicycles, electronics, and furniture. The front of the store is given over, almost entirely to clothing and shoes. Still my favorite thrift store to come to in Fredericksburg.

They have a very "trusting" pay system, they have a lock box where you place your cash only into with a post it note of what you bought and your total. Do not expect to be able to pay with credit card, make sure you take cash in small denominations because there is no one there to give you change. I usually spend between $20 to $30 there because everything is such a great price! The few times I have seen someone there working they are super friendly and really make you feel like you are just visiting them at home. Top notch service! It's also a great place to snap pictures. I absolutely love it there!
