I stopped here on March 29, 2026, needing both coffee and gas, and I was pleasantly surprised. The coffeehouse is excellent, and the mini-mart connected to the gas station is really well done. The store was stocked with a great selection of what appeared to be locally made foods. I was especially impressed by the branding and cozy coffee house motif. This place really feels unique. OAK barrel is in a gas station. We arrived on a Sunday and the place was packed. We wanted to grab a made to order sandwich, but the wait was over 30 minutes. I also wanted to grab an espresso from their coffee bar, but there was no barista to be found. That was the negative but it was busy, to be fair. We ended up grabbing a premade sandwich and some cheesecake. Both were so good! The cheesecake was legit better than Cheesecake Factory. It was a huge slice for about $10. The sandwich was on fresh delicious bread. They have a great selection of items here and we would definitely make the pit stop again - hopefully with more time to wait for custom orders. read more

We went up there for a Geocaching adventure, and they were very accommodating of our group. The food was excellent, and priced for families.

If traveling on I68 and you need fuel and food this is the place. It is worth visiting and having a sandwich and dessert. For a place most people would think is in the middle of nowhere and at a gas station, it is worth enjoying a meal. Was everything perfect? We found out about this place through some friends that had stopped on the way back from WVU to grab some lunch so we drove out to the location to see for ourselves, do a little geocaching and have some lunch. The place is really incredible and loaded with lots of options not just a convenience store style, but a country organic natural store with loads of different products such as canned goods, salsa, jellies , honey and hot sauces. Place was very clean well organized well run and the staff were very very friendly helping us get acclimated to the ordering process before we sat down for lunch. The two sandwiches that we ordered were delicious grilled de perfection and loaded with lots of fresh ingredients. The fries were spot on crispy, flavorful and creamy inside. The coleslaw was loaded with lots of flavor and nicely prepared and the homemade house chips were prepared kettle style with not too much salt. The entire meal was excellent from just the right amount of seasoning on the potato chips, two wonderfully freshly prepared grilled deli sandwiches and had a great price. The Grinch added a nice aspect for the holiday, and we loved being able to get a picture of him manning the coffee station. We also went over to the convenience area and picked up an M&M peanut butter cake for a white elephant gift that night as well as a baked Alaska for ourselves to take home. Just off the interstate in Maryland near West Virginia this is the perfect little stop. This is probably one of the nicest and most delicious restaurants I've experienced connected to a gas station. They serve food all day - I got the breakfast burrito which was so tasty I got a second one! They run about $8 which for the size and amount of food it's well worth every penny. I also got a pastry - it was about $5 - it was good but more like a $3.50 pastry. They have regular coffee in the gas station and it's very good quality but they also have a full coffee bar inside the restaurant which is attached to the gas station. The inside is decorated very nicely and incredibly clean and comfortable. When it's warmer they have outdoor seating and a music stage. The girl working in the restaurant/coffee bar was super friendly and helpful. Gonna make this a regular stop anytime I'm on I-68 between Morgantown WV and Cumberland MD! read more

It's a gas station that has a bakery in it. The food is not good. We asked for a gluten free buns for our burgers, and sides of fries. They brought out the fries and it wasn't until we asked that we found out they weren't gluten free. So we were exposed to gluten. I would not recommend this place. read more

FIRST-TIMERS will be challenged if you walk into restaurant side. We were confused on where to go. If you go in the convenience side , you focus on the food offered at one counter then order. Then turn around and pay at another counter. Then if dining in, go through walkthrough to find seating. We chose the table in the back facing forward. While waiting on our food, we enjoyed the slide show on the monitor. We couldn't figure out the jerky spots but laughed at the Grinch one. The food came quickly. The waitress was polite. I had to stop here because my tire got a nail in it and we had stopped at a gas station close by and it was tarrable felt Erie and uncomfortable but luckily this was close by and when i walked in it was such a different mood the people were so friendly it's very clean and i felt very comfortable being in there while i was waiting for assistance with my tire, Unfortunately i did not get to eat the food but all the baked goods look amazing and the bathrooms are clean and welcoming they even have a thing where you wave and it opens love it here and had a great view!! read more

This is the first time I give a "gas station" 5 stars! Oak Barrel Citgo is a "gas station" bakery convenience store by I-68 in Maryland. It's a pleasant surprise for us to discover this place. Clean, well stocked, and above all: tastefully decorated and cozy (words that we don't usually associate with highway gas stations!). Look at my photo. That bakery side with fireplace and all the wood. It makes you want to sit down and sip coffee. They've got WiFi and there are people there on their laptops or reading, as if it's a neighborhood Starbucks! Toilet is not in top condition but clean enough by highway standards (at least I could sit down). read more

What a little gem! We were heading back home from our vacation and stopped at this charming little place. We had our reservations about it being attached to a gas station but our doubts were soon squashed. The staff was super helpful and the food was outstanding! They were decorated for Christmas and the shop was super cute and clean. I had the hamburger sub special and wow it was super yummy! I didn't get a chance to take pics of the food as everyone was starving by the time we stopped. I did take a few of the inside of the eating area as well as the convenience side. Amazing Road side cafe bakery attached to a Citgo gas station. We picked up hot breakfast croissant sandwiches which my kids hammered. I couldn't resist getting a few of the seriously decadent looking cakes and cheesecake. The cakes are all so good, but the lemon cheesecake is one of the best desserts I've ever eaten. I'd say this is a perfectly acceptable choice for a pitstop, but don't expect to be blown away. This stop is quite convenient along the highway through western MD. They have a lot of fairly priced options. I stuck with the conservative choice of hot turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. Everything about the dish was just fine. The gravy tasted store bought. The bread was Wonderbread. The mashed potatoes were fairly lumpy but tasted fine. If you go in with medium expectations, you'll be fine. This place would certainly not be a 5-star establishment were it not for the scarcity of nearby food options. read more

Don't be put off that it has a gas station out front; it's just another source of fuel... for cars. This place seems like the go-to place for this area. There is a wide selection of food and a market for other food items and beverages. The staff was very friendly and patient, and I stress patient as we kept changing our order. This is what happens when everything looks good and didn't disappoint. When you get set with your food and beverages whether soda or of the adult kind, take them outside or stay in it's quaint either way. We choose to sit outside for the gorgeous weather. After you eat, play a game of corn hole, get ice cream (inside) or just get another beer. Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong - it's just a hidden gem and a one-stop shop.
