Several times two of the instructors talked with one another the entire time and paid no attention to the kids. Another time the teacher spent the entire time rearranging equipment while ignoring the children. A third time, the teacher told the kids there would be free time and then ignored the kids for the entire class. This is for a beginning class. I would also be wary of upper level classes if you want your child to be treated respectfully, since I have witnessed one teacher repeatedly, over many weeks, berate young children at a more advanced level. Also, Google the company's history.

The facility is nice and they definitely have some awards but I have to be real about this place…read more I have watched my 6 year old daughter here every Tuesday for at least 6 months. My daughter is young and is no gymnastics prodigy, but for example she had been here like 24 times and she still doesn't know which hand to use to start her cartwheels. She's left handed and even in front of her teachers she will use a different hand each time trying to figure it out. I put her in gymnastics to learn some basics at least. The instructors barely help them do their stretches correctly. Half the time each kid is doing something different. RIGHT NOW I'm watching kids all doing their stretches a different way and the instructor zoning out. 7 kids in her class, one instructor for 60 mins isn't enough to teach which hand to start with. I'll just use YouTube going forward. 18 year old high school student instructors are just not trained in dealing with young children. Not for this price anyways.

During her actual class though she ended up with a different instructor and she was newer and didn't seem to be able to handle some of the roudier kids in the class. I expressed my concerns and my daughter was moved to a different class. We now have no issues. They have large upstairs parent viewing area with a large glass window which is great! It does get crowded quickly. They have a foam pit, trampoline, rope climbing, balance bars and so much more. We visited a few gymnastics gyms before choosing this one.

If you're just looking for something to do on a Saturday morning in the winter I guess it's fine but personally I would not waste your money (it's not cheap)! Regardless of the current staffing issues, my problem is when the group of girls and their coach (about 6-8 girls per coach) move to an activity such as the balance beam, bars, etc.... One girl goes at a time while the others sit and wait for about 10 minutes for their turn. Why not have them doing jumping jacks or ANYTHING to keep them moving!? They are just sitting and watching. Then, when it's finally their turn for the activity they go for about 30 seconds while their 'coach' is barely watching and I've literally never seen my daughter or really any of the other girls for that matter get any type of instruction. I presume it's different when the girls are in the more advanced levels (this is beginner) but my daughter actually wants to learn and get better. Unfortunately there is no possible way she can achieve that in this environment. Lastly, I want to note that I did address this with an employee at their front desk one day, she said she would relay the message however there haven't been any changes made.

OC Gymnastics - STOP BULLYING YOUR PATRONS!…read more A follow up to my review of OC Gymnastics: We have been so very disappointed with OC Gymnastics decision to keep money just given to the gym after our daughter made a responsible decision to focus on her swim team obligations and EOG testing rather than exercise her gym time. I was shocked when Aaron Williams, owner of OC Gymnastics, made another poor decision. A call was placed to our house by the gym, after my review, informing us that our daughter would have been allowed to attend Friday gym sessions had I not written my less than glowing review of OC Gymnastics; however now she was uninvited! What responsible business BULLIES a child and her family?!? I highly encourage you all to please take your business elsewhere. Do not let local businesses take legitimate complaints against their business practices out on our children. Tell OC Gymnastics to stop bullying the good families and their children within our community. SHAME ON YOU OC Gymnastics! SHAME ON YOU!!!

We love the other parents and have developed a great community at OC Gymnastics. The kids always seem to be having a great time and have a super rapport with their coaches. Team parents Aaron and Terra Wells have recently purchased the business and we are really looking forward to working with them.

Can I give this place negative reviews? Their classes are a joke. My son tried to take an…read moreentry-level hip hop class, but the instructor taught the class of 8 and 9 year old boys as though they were experts. By the end of the class, all but one of the boys were sitting against the wall, having given up in frustration. At the same time, I enrolled my son in a tumbling class. Tumbling? Ha! Turns out I'm paying $60 a month for him to jump on a trampoline. Speaking of payments -- the owners charge for two months of class when you register. They call it "first and last month's payment." Well that's great. When I notified them that this was my son's last month, I was told that the "last month's payment" was not refundable. What? So for one of these months, I paid $120 for my son to jump on a trampoline 4x. The owners are constantly money mongering. They expect payment in advance of the month of classes. So when I enrolled my son, I paid for that month (well, paid double for that month as it turns out). Before the month was done, they were asking for payment again -- for the next month. I had assumed that March's payment would be due on March 1, April's payment would be due April 1, etc. No. March's payment is due in February, April's payment is due in March. If you pay for April's classes on April 1, they make sure to tell you that your payment is past due. Who else functions this way? The best advice I can give to anyone considering this gym is to look somewhere else. There are many other fantastic gymnastics and dance studios in the area, and I know from experience that these other studios have much better business practices.
