I had a problem with my pet. She I think tore her nail on a Friday. There was a lot of blood and i cleaned the paw i saw no slash i saw no cuts. So since the bleeding stopped i decided to wait till Monday. I walked in to MY VET when i talked with the front desk I was told "Why didn't you take her to an emergency vet"? (accusingly)! It was not life threatening or i would have!!! I was then told if DrMac saw me before 11:30 am it would be an extra $100. For what? It's not a broken paw. The nail in the coffin was told to wait in my car till 11:30. I am nobody special i get that and she not said anything about the extra money i would have just waited but the sign says "Your pet is our priority"! The $100 was the priority. I completely understand having to work me in i was not put off by that but to work me and charge me $100 I'm done! It's all about the money apparently! read more

Moved here from California where heart worm, fleas and ticks were not where we lived. The vets and vet techs were so nice explaining how this all works. We have five small dogs and I thought it was going to be expensive, but the visit was very reasonable. Friday I had to bring our cat in. I gave my mom this cat 10 years ago after my dad died. I adopt Emma from the humane society 15 years ago at only 6 weeks old. Emma was always healthy, a Persian Himalayan mix. Sunday I went to check on her before we headed out and she was bleeding from her mouth, drooling blood. I noticed a growth under her tongue, oh no, not good. The bleeding slowed down and I made an appointment. The growth had grown so much in a few days. It was a cancerous tumor. She was bleeding a lot but swallowing it, water was rolling on her tongue. She was dying, suffering. Dr. Snipes could not have but nicer along with the tech. A lovely southern Christian gentleman, he could not hide his sorrow. I called my mom to tell her it wasn't good and we both decided to end Emma's suffering. I held her, she purred, she passed. It was handled so caring. I feel we found a gem here. read more

I didn't have any issues with the staff selling me products, in fact my bill ended up cheaper than I expected because they didn't do more than they needed to! My puppy was sick on Mon, I took him to Woodland Animal Hospital in Locus Grove on Tues night (bc I had no choice), they sent me home with 3 meds. By Thurs night he's still not getting better so my mom's friend referred me to Oak Hill. I did a Walk In at 8:30am on Friday and they saw me immediately!! Staff was friendly, doc was nice and explained everything to me in detail. She didn't do more tests than she needed to, and now my puppy is already starting to feel better (it's Fri night btw!) Soooo happy I took my Dog here, and now I found my new vet! :) read more

Our dog hates vets and he was calm and let the vet do what he needed also needed to have surgery and referred us on a Friday afternoon to a surgeon so he could be treated. Do not take your pet here. Total lack of consideration of pets or patrons. Horrible on all levels. Will not go back after this last visit. The owner/vet couldn't care less about my dogs. None of the people that work there do anything with my dogs. They just come in the room and leave barely even touching my dogs except to ram pills foen their throats forcefully even though I tell them I can easily give them to them gently on my own for them to see. They refuse to believe me on how much my dog weighs even though I just used their scale because they were too busy telling me they can't put me in a room yet and will get to me when they can - after specifically telling me to come in after calling from the parking lot. Total attitude at the front desk. Horrible business. Tons of turnover. I will never go back. read more

Personally, I will not be returning. If your pet needs urgent care or is ill I do recommend them however with that said, I have never had such unpleasant experiences with a vet. The ladies in the front and the vet techs are wonderful and proved excellent customer service. Dr. McElhenny, on the other hand has never provided me with the same. She had an arrogant and privileged attitude. I have been there three times and have yet to have a pleasant experience with her. My dog has severe allergies and I do everything I can within my limitations to help manage his symptoms though sometimes his issues become worse and require medication as he gets regular yeast infections and hair loss due to iching. On my last visit we were discussing the next steps, every question I asked was followed with an attitude and when I spoke about being lower income and asked whether there was anything we could do to help him while I saved money for an allergy test and the shots that would follow; she said in a snarky tone, "that's what we're doing" the tech then asked what shampoo she was prescribing and she said, " well I don't know, looks like I'm on a budget." The remainder of my visit was filled with comments about how I couldn't afford other treatments and other rude remarks. Keep in mind I told them that I wasn't trying to spend over $200 for this visit knowing I would have to return in two weeks. I have never been spoken to in such a way in any professional manner. I have spent thousands of dollars through out the years trying new products, changing his diets, vet visits and more, putting my needs behind his and she acts as though i'm a poor owner because I don't have the abundance of money as someone within her income bracket. My first appointment had me hopeful that we would find a way to make my lil man feel better but unfortunately I am left to find a new vet who can make me and my dog feel cared for. read more

Took a while for me to do this. Had been coming here for a few years. Took pet in for check-up. Found out during exam that my pet had been getting over medicated for around a year. Then a few days after exam pet passed away. Not sure if the over medication had anything to do with my pets death (probably didn't . . .?). But, they should have had better checks and balances to make sure this didn't happen. I'm hoping they do now. I wish I would have caught this mistake myself. Make sure YOU know what medications and what doses your pets are supposed to be taking and check your medications when you get them to make sure there right. I thought of this as a good place before all this happened. read more

We board our beast here and he always comes home happy, vaccinated, and groomed. We have a Caucasian Ovcharka and if they can handle him they can handle any breed. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their groomer is also a miracle worker and very reasonable. Odin, our beast, has a triple coat and she spends hours brushing him before bathing which is very appreciated. Her services alone warrant a five star rating! We also had to put one of our cats down with them and they were very compassionate and gave us all the time we needed. They even helped us place one of our other cats who was just a bit to wild for our other older cat in the house with a perfect older couple in the area. read more

I love this hospital. I have three fur babies that I bring here. One of them has attitude issues, but everyone is always sweet to him and refuse to put a muzzle on him. They get the calming towel on him and and carry on. Dr. Mac. is awesome. She gets right down in the floor on their level and treats them all with the best of care. I always feel like she takes all the time I need to answer any and all of my questions. I never feel like I am rushed through. All of the staff here are very helpful and friendly. read more

This is a great small vet clinic. I've been here several times with our dogs and cats, and Dr Mac and the entire staff has been great to us. Dr Mac will spend a lot if time with you answering questions, unlike most other vets. I'm very happy with my experiences here. read more

My boyfriends dad boarded their dog here for the weekend and the trainers let loose of the dog while the dog freaked out and ran off into the woods. The dog was missing for almost a week. This was so unacceptable and no dog owner should have to go through something like that. They should not have gave the dog a chance to run in the open when they have a gated area in the back. I agree about promoting products and being about the money. I brought my puppy in for an annual physical exam on 3/24/18. I had a coupon and so the exam was $10. He received a DA2PP also; total for visit $34. The puppy was scheduled for a rabies shot only 1 month later. They gave him the DA2PP again (this time the adult version) and then charged me $42 for a wellness exam which he had 1 month earlier. They also talked me into Bordetella Vaccination which he had a 3 months and he probably did not need. Looking for a new vet...I don't trust them! read more

Took my dog to the vet today for his annual check up, after checking in and being moved to the exam room all the vet tech did was try to sell products to me, the only exam she did was listen to his heart, if she did that! She kept telling of all the things I should buy to keep my dog healthy, and told me that he need one vaccination. When the "Vet" can in the room she proceeded in the same manner as the vet tech. Telling me of all the products I need to buy again only to find out that their recommendation for one product, when I complained last year about it ineffectiveness that I need to buy another product to do the job of the first product they had me purchase. She did not even look at my dog before push her products. So much for being a VIP member!!!! read more
