I wanted to love this place but the sugar land location is so poorly run, I just can't. It's a…read moregreat concept but the horrible customer service makes it not worth it, and in the end they lost our pieces and didn't care. 1. From the beginning, I had a subpar experience because the employee helping us make our pieces was new (which is fine, nobody can help that) but instead of explaining how to create the work or having a more experienced employee shadow her training, she kept getting frustrated and would say "here, I'll just show you" and ended up basically making the pottery for us. She was sweet but lacked training and patience, so she didn't let us make our own pottery. She also kept bantering with her colleague while we sat there waiting to hear what to do next. 2. Then 6 weeks goes by and we didn't hear back about our piece, my husband and I kept calling and finally after a week, someone answered and said yes it's ready. 3. Now we have painted and sent them to the fire and we went to pick it up this evening. They are moving locations and everything was packed up. The employee said he can't find it and it was probably recycled. The most they can offer is 50% off a new pottery experience. Taken aback, I said hey that's really uncool, and kind of messed up. He said we should have picked it up within 2 weeks and it's been almost 60 days. It's been exactly 40 days, and we just had Xmas and New Years, AND they're only open Thursday through Sunday. Nonetheless that is my blunder, I recognize that. Still, they can call someone before throwing away their pieces. The employee said, "We used to do that, but it was bad for business." 4. The final straw was when the employee said, "I'll look through on Monday at the warehouse to see if it's there," and my husband asked, "and you'll call us?" The employee said Yeah. My husband said, "and you have our number on file?" which prompted him to check in front of us. HE DIDNT EVEN HAVE OUR NUMBER! The guy was never planning on calling us because I was upset about our pieces possibly being thrown away. So they can take six weeks to notify us our pieces are ready, but we can't take 4 weeks to pick it up? They should admit our stuff was thrown away or lost because they're moving locations, not because we took an extra 2 weeks to pick it up. Neither the email that said it was ready nor the employees at time of painting indicated that we HAD to pick it up in two weeks or else they'll recycle our pieces. Almost every employee at this location has zero customer service training (except one lady who helped us paint our pieces). I have never felt so strongly about an establishment that I wrote an extensive review. My advise is to take your $ elsewhere. Makes sense why this location isn't even on Google maps, only Apple Maps. They probably had awful reviews. I'm so disappointed in Smashed & genuinely sad at how I've been treated.

I had my son's 7th birthday party here recently. We selected a package that allowed him to have 10…read morefriends paint mugs, create spin art, and decorate a cupcake/eat it. The staff was great and helped each kid do their spin art to their liking. They prepared everything and worked great with all the kids. The kids really enjoyed being able to decorate their cupcakes and the quickly eat them afterwards. We technically didn't even need to bring any cupcakes but we did for the adults. The really cool part was the at home baking to seal the kids artistic creations on their mugs. A very cool twist to painting that I haven't seen before! This made it much easier to let everyone take their items immediately instead of us collecting and sharing with families after the event.

But the instructor gave great instructions, was patient, and made the experience so enjoyable. And my painting came out fairly decent. Walking in, we were greeted inmediately and signed up. Grabbed an apron and picked a spot. The instructor gave enough direction so you know what you are doing and guides you jn the right direction but you are free to make it your own. It was interesting to see how everyone interpreted their paintings. In the middle, we took a quick break to play pictionary. That was unexpected but really fun. At the end, there is a drying station and we even got to pick extra paintings to take home. You can bring light snacks and drink to complete the experience.

I had a wonderful time painting and chatting here with my friends this past weekend. We came in during the evening time and stayed till a little past closing to finish our pieces, and Mark was absolutely amazing and so patient in helping us wrap up and clean up. I have been to other pottery painting places in the past, but this place by far has the best selection of items at a super reasonable price range. I found multiple items that I would've wanted to paint and take home. During the time there, Mark made sure that our group was well taken care of, understood the use of the brushes and tools, and shared fun stories and jokes while passing by us every once in a while. With the music in the background and the colorful walls surrounding you, this is a great space to channel your artistic talents and have a good time away from the hustle and bustle of life.
