I only started this review as I saw this Yelp site, but really the review is more about the Advocate Medical Group housed here (and they have their own Yelp review site). There's not much more to say about the facility itself except it's convenient with good hours, and has a big convenient parking lot that is often filled! Our PCP, Dr. Ellen Aleksandrovich, is the best and she is very competent, caring, communicative, proactive, and empathetic to the patient's needs. Their systems also work great and responsively without long waits - systems meaning phone calls or messages, their PA staff, their website which is used for both medical info storage as well as messaging, their billing and payments system, their appointment scheduling, their lab appointments system and staff, etc. They also have several specialists based here that we see, and they have the same support system. We routinely get bloodwork and sometimes imaging done here. They are part of the Advocate Medical Group and in turn associated directly with the excellent Advocate Lutheran General Hospital nearby. In our experience, it's a big thumbs up for Nesset Pavillion and the Advocate Medical Group staff here.

I was forced to go because I ran out of a script & they told me I had to see the doctor first before I could get it refilled. I would just as soon take none of these drugs (I mean I'm not even getting high from them ) As it turns out its been over 1 year since my last physical so I figured I might as well have the tests done. I guess the fact that I have insurance they figured out they might as well order everything deluxe and do Lab Tests, EKG, Ultrasound (Am I pregnant ?). Anyway 2 hrs seems a bit excessive. The attending resident doctor did a very good job and was very through, but the front desk staff leaves a lot to be desired. When I arrived the girl asked me if I could hold on for a minute. I waited for about 5 minutes and finally realized there were a couple of other people that could have checked me in. When I left there were only 2 people. As I walked out the first person just walked away and didn't say anything so I checked out with the other person.

One of the best things with being part of a group is if your PCP happens to not be available on a given day, another doctor or resident or possibly a PA can step in for an urgent matter and they have all the info they may need at their fingertips. If needed, they can also refer you to one of their immediate care clinics in a Walgreens and I have used that service to get a quick anti-biotic prescription following a quick strep throat test without need to see a PCP. Before using the Advocate Medical Group for a PCP, I had a one man shop PCP, and who happened to take Wednesdays off, and it seemed I always needed him on a Wednesday so he was never there without a few days delay when I needed him, pfft! He also occasionally had suspect billing practices and that was the straw for me. He was competent though, but whatever on that aspect. Sure beats the ER... Prices are reasonable and they accept insurance. Plus, they send your prescription over to the pharmacy right away, so you can pick it up before you head home. Unfortunately, I cannot give a high, because the care I received did not relieve or help the condition I arrived with. I ended up having to go to urgent care 2 days later for an antibiotic, because my "sore throat" actually turned into a triple infection (eyes, ear and tonsils). The staff was really helpful, but I think this is probably a good place to get your shots and maybe a physical, not for the times when you are actually sick.

I've gone here many times for myself and my kids over the years....and I have been pleased with the…read morecare I have received. However, I am not happy with what is going on with the waiting. When we started going, it believe you can make an appt when you walked in (for a later time if you didn't want to wait)--but not online (I could be wrong). Now you can make an appt online. We had two recent visits...Xmas Eve and again about 10 days later. I had taken my son on Xmas Eve for a strep swab. 3 patients ahead of us, 2 in the rooms--took about an 70 mins before we were seen. He had strep. It was 1.15pm when we finished-- and I was going to bring my other son in for a swab....advised by the NP. She said--come sooner than later bc it will get busy. Instead of driving home and back, I decided since we only live 10 mins away--to have my husband bring him--while I sign him in. I could not sign him in--nor make an appt. The clinic did not close til I believe 7.30 that night--I could be wrong. They were booked up with appts. Myself and about 2 other patients were basically turned away. Last week, my husband waited 2 hours before he got frustrated and left. There were two NPs. He waited thru one of them taking a lunch break. He also listened to them hang out and chat between patients---before what he thought was his turn. Only to say--who is our next appt--and take that person. I get the convenience of making the appt, but come up with a better system to see patients. Tell walk ins--when they register--or before they register--how many APPTS and walkins are ahead of them/wait time....etc. Maybe make EVERYONE make appts....even walk ins given time options when they sign in--so they at least know what their options are. My boy started puking in the waiting area. Maybe ask what the issue is--and prioritize better....or suggest I go elsewhere. Maybe NOT take regular appts during certain hours, holidays (where most ppl tend to NEED immediate care). Also advice---handle the breaks better. The moment the door opened and we were up next, the NP took a break. I get that. But, she hung out--chatting. My 10 year puked in the waiting area---and we still had to wait for the other NP to be available. Please--if you are taking your last appt before break, make a nice announcement....then leave the premises. Communicate better.

It was the most unprofessional, incredible front office experience, I've received at a medical treatment facility in my life. I'm a retired Navy SEAL, seeking pain management for severe, debilitating, back, leg and neck pain related to combat injuries and overuse. I do receive decent care now, and I am fairly satisfied elsewhere. Doctor Padrone and I had a very good eye to eye professional relationship regarding our treatment plan for my issues. I was looking forward to working with the doctor, and experimenting with his alternative treatment procedures. Some of my other colleagues used, alternate methods and it changed their lives. His office offered alternative therapies and medication supplements. We never got that far . My 2nd appointment, I came to the office, and the front door was locked, a patient opened it, I walked in to sign in, and the 2 ladies at the front desk were verbally abusing me, yelling and literally screaming, like unmediated schizophrenics, for absolutely no reason at all. I'm still assuming because a waiting patient opened the door? They are not professional enough to give an answer. Something must have happened in the clinic prior to me walking in. Regardless, their frustrations were taken out on a new pain patient, a combat veteran, a professional, who did absolutely nothing but show up for his second appointment. As they started to violently become aggressive, making the entire clinic very uncomfortable, I told them they will not speak to me like that. I canceled the appointment and left. It was volatile, unnecessary and bizarre. I would never recommend this office to ANY VETERAN, or pain patients, who wish to receive compassionate patient centered care. The staff are unprofessional, unqualified and incompetent to do their job properly, especially in a pain management environment. And, on that day, Dr. Padrone came out of his clinic room and did absolutely nothing. Walked away as if it was business as usual. I never received a call explaining or apologizing for whatever happened. I'm obligated to report the incident in detail, to all consulting agencies who recommended them, TRICARE, the VA, and the organizations who regulate this industry. It was the worst administrative medical experience I've ever encountered. A highly unrecommended clinic and sad situation for those who have little choice.

I was diagnosed with active brain aneurysms by a large Chicago teaching hospital that told me that surgery was too risky but they wanted to keep information on my condition weekly then monthly. I thought about it and decided if they were inoperable why waite for one to burst so I never went back. I got a new revgular Dr Sebastian who owns Seby medical and when I gave him my history he immediately sent me to Lutherine General in Park Ridge to see this young hotshot Dr Oliver. I met with the Dr and I had specific questions and a couple of new cutting edge stump the Dr questions. This Dr is knowledgeable beyond belief and up on everything. He is super confident but not at all aragant. Everything that I asked was responded to professionally and very detailed with the Dr drawing pictures when explaing his gameplan.. He is super easy to talk to and makes you feel that he will do his best to help you through the whole endeavor. I felt impelled to let him know that if things went sideways and I didn't wake up ever that he shouldn't spend one second feeliing bad because it would be God's choice not his mistake. He went through my wrist into my brain 3 times with a plan and flawless execution. So much for inoperable because I have a Rock Star surgeon that I owe my life to and I thought that I should share my story so he gets recognized for the amazing job he does on a daily. From every experience we have had at this Hospital, I truly do not know where to even start. I can…read morewrite a whole novel about how horrible this place has been! My handicapped mother has been here, currently as I type, the 3rd time within the last year. Each time it seems to get worse. There are a few good Doctors and Nurses. However, majority of it has been just awful. Lot of nurses who don't know what they are doing, will totally ignore the patients, or give attitude all because they don't want to do their jobs. I had to call the nurse line directly for my mom (as she is over an hour away from me), because the nurse was ignoring every ring button she pressed. She was bedridden and had to ring for a nurse if she needed to use the bathroom, yet the nurse would ignore it. When I called, she started giving me horrible attitude. That's just one example, of many more from the previous time. Yesterday, she rushed via ambulance to the ER. It's been nothing but Hell. It is worse than prison. Let me also mention, her blood pressure thing came off and was beeping for over half an hour. My mom pressed the call button, but nobody came. She had to get up and physically wave down a nurse! Anyway, long story short, I contacted the complaint email to express the horrible service and treatment my mom is getting. Apparently, that made them all mad, because the complaint woman had the urge to than go up to my moms room and tell her she needs to tell me that she (my mom) is refusing things and it's not on them. These things being blood drawn at 4am, that my mom didn't even know about. Then the nurses told her she would probably need an MRI tomorrow morning. My mom DID NOT refuse, she just said she couldn't do an MRI from extreme panic attacks (therefore would need a sedative or an alternative). After this, her nurse came into her room giving her lectures about if she doesn't cooperate, they will just send her home. I've witnessed myself a lot of what went on last time she was at this hospital. I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. This place would honestly be the place that would have a patient dying, while they don't even care to notice. I would not be shocked at all if this happened there already. They make you just sit around for hours. No nurses come around, no Doctors. Instead of figuring out the issue so the patient can be in and out, you'll be there for days. I will most certainly be looking into pursuing this with a higher up administration. It's one thing to be busy and what not (which I understand) but neglecting and talking badly to patients who have patiently been waiting, is VERY unprofessional. My advice: STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY from this hospital if you actually want decent care.

They took my blood work and set me up with an IV while I was still in the waiting room. And gave me IV pain meds as well. That was great as I was primarily there for symptoms management (for dehydration and pain). That took about 2 hours. I then waited another 2 hours to see the doctor, then two more hours in a bed in the ER. My nurse, Margaret, was to the point and smart, I liked her. The doctor, Dr. Juliet Evans, was super nice, informative, and knew what she was talking about. He CNA who collected my urine had jokes - also enjoyed him. Bad It took 6 hours total, four of which was spent waiting - not really dinging them for that though because I understand triage. Here's what really made me angry enough to write the review: The Dr. forgot to write a note about not returning to work (she Informed me I was not to return until 24 hours being symptom free). It's fine, these things happen, I figured I could just call and get the note faxed. When I called the next day for the note - the nurse - Mary Jo - informed me the doctor wouldn't be in until Friday and she could write the note then. I explained my work needs the note today or tomorrow as I haven't been there all week. She put me on hold. When she returned she said "this is a nurse how can I help you" as if she had expected me to hang up and this was a new call. I reminded her what I was waiting for. She told me I needed to go to my primary care doctor today and they could write the note, and that was all she could do. I asked for her name and ended the phone call. I'm home sick - why would I spend more money on an additional doctor's visit when I already paid a ridiculous amount of money for the ER visit, and why would I do this just to correct a mistake they had made? Horrible customer service from Mary Jo the nurse. I work at a hospital, we get these calls all of the time, she could have had another physician look at my diagnosis (viral infection) and had them write a note since it's based off of the diagnosis. But Mary Jo would rather risk a contagious person returning to work instead of taking 5 minutes to get that done.
