Given the severity of our situation, they got him in right away. We did not expect a worst case scenario but the way they handled it was with the utmost knowledge, professionalism and doing everything they could within their capabilities. We were quickly transferred to their NCCU dept where their neuro speciality team has been nothing but amazing given the extremities of the situation we were (are) in. It's barely been a few days and there has been so much done so much improvement and I am so impressed by their superpower capabilities. Dr. Bowvis is a top doctor. We pleaded with multiple doctor & nursing staff to no avail. Everyone is way to busy. No one listens to you. Very poor communication. The only thing we got were antibiotics to treat an infection. In addition they did not provide adequate amenities & switched us to oral antibiotics upon discharge which caused adverse side effects. If you are looking for a Hospital that cares for your well being, look elsewhere.

He even told me he believes he made it worse than it should. I'll update when I find the name but I seriously can't imagine him being an actual doctor. Then he told me the lady is on lunch have a seat. Then the lady comes back and finally calls my name. I tell her I'm here to pay for services and sessions then she said oh, they only take cash, or check and I have been paying with a credit card then she has a little quiet attitude, so I always have to explain to them. Then she finally said oh, you're looking for the lady at the end is the cashier. Then I go and used my credit card to pay. However, I asked for an extra Xerox copy of the recipe and she said you can get one from the department you're paying for. I don't think it was all that trouble to get off her chair to get another copy. I could understand if she was very busy with lots of people, but there was only one person sitting in the waiting area. At the front information desk, I have sometimes felt dismissed or spoken to harshly when asking for directions or clarification, especially when I mentioned that I had visited before but needed reminders due to medical issues and medication-related brain fog. During some specialist visits, I felt that my responses were not fully acknowledged when I answered questions in ways that were unexpected. This left me concerned that parts of my medical information may not have been clearly reflected in my records. I have also struggled to get assistance from the Galter Life Center. Despite having a referral from my specialists, I have not been able to schedule an appointment or receive clear guidance through in-person visits, phone calls, or email. Additionally, I have attempted to contact Patient Experience and Advocacy several times but have not received responses to my calls or messages. When the system moved to NorthShoreConnect, I hoped communication would improve, but many of my messages there have also gone unanswered. Because of these experiences, I personally feel that my concerns have not been addressed adequately, and I would encourage others to carefully consider their options when seeking care.

They have added two new Dr's. which I had the pleasure of meeting, not under the best circumstances as I suffered a miscarriage and they were the one's on call- both very sweet and took the time to make me feel calm and explain everything that was going on to me. Unfortunately, my experience trying to locate him was extremely frustrating. When I first called to schedule an appointment, I was told he was on vacation. Later, I was told they had no information about him. Then I was told he was on medical leave and they didn't know when he would return. Finally, I was told he wasn't coming back, but no one could explain why. Throughout these conversations, I repeatedly felt pressured to schedule with another physician in the practice. Eventually I agreed because I couldn't find Dr. Gleixner anywhere else. While I can't speak for the other physicians, this practice is not the same as it was when Dr. Gleixner was there. If anyone knows where Dr. Paul Gleixner is currently practicing, or whether he plans to return to practice, I would sincerely appreciate you sharing that information. He was an exceptional physician, and I know many long-time patients would like the opportunity to continue their care with him.
