The table arrangements of tables, booth seating, and cocktail tables were great so you could have a cocktail hour, as well as a seated dinner. The food was from the Gianmarco's menu and it was absolutely delicious. We had three appetizers in the cocktail hour. One was a mushroom bruschetta, one was a fried oyster bruschetta, and a small Caprese appetizer. The fried oyster and Caprese appetizer were the only two I tried and they were so fresh and delicious. I really liked that the fried oyster crostini and the mushroom bruschetta were served on small slate square plates. It was a really unique way to serve the hors d'oeuvres and the presentation was beautiful. Everybody's main meals looked so delicious and I was very pleased with my lamb. It was cooked absolutely perfectly and so flavorful and tender. I will say that the chicken Parmesan looked phenomenal and we had one friend order the veal Parmesan and it was an insane amount of food. He had never tried veal before and he really enjoyed it! The servers and team there were so hospitable and friendly. I would definitely keep this place in mind in the future for private events.

From the event coordinator who helped me plan all the details to the entire staff that took amazing care of us at both of my events- they were top notch. It's in a little strip mall with other business so parking is kind of tight. The event center is a nice size. Seems like the space is big enough for you to host baby showers, bridal showers, and birthdays. It was big enough that they had a small bouncy house in there for the kids to play in. So if your near the Alabaster area and need a place to host an event. Check this place out!

They made some serious improvements here since we last came…read more Tons of cute areas to take photos and a plethora of new activities. More areas where you can sit and lounge while the kids play and super organized parking. Lots of fresh air and space to spread out enjoy. More vendors who sold yummy treats like pops and kono ice. Our family had a ball and it will go down as one my favorite memories this year. It wasn't crowded when we went which made it more enjoyable. We didn't have to wait in line because they kept things moving at a good speed. Workers were just the sweetest humans on earth who helped my elderly father on and off the wagon. Loved that they had smaller pumpkins this year for toddlers and small children to pick up. There was also a tiny train ride. I really do hope they can lengthen the time frame past October into a week or two in November. If you go to only one patch in October let it be Helena Hallow though. Huge tip! Be sure to wear comfy shoes that can get dirty. It's a farm so there's lots of mud. It's hilly so wear comfy tennis shoes or boots. Definitely keep the heels and sandals at home. Also they seem to allow water bottles so bring one if you spend a whole day out here.

And if you weren't, don't worry - I'll tell you below. The Birmingham Georgia Tech Alumni Association held their annual banquet at this museum last month. Not being from the Birmingham area, I had no idea that this place existed! What a great venue for events, while also showcasing Birmingham Water Works from its earliest days.Use of the museum is for business and civic orgs only.... so no wedding receptions or private parties. AV and other technologies are also available for use. Not sure on the cost to rent, but given that the Alumni Assc. has a limited budget, I'm sure we didn't spend too much on renting the space. Stop by and view this venue if you're looking for a unique spot to hold your next meeting or event!

I've been on 3 separate occasions now (2 holiday parties and a baby shower) and have always had a good time. You can setup the room however you'd like with tables, chairs, microphone, speakers etc. There's also kitchen space and easily accessible restrooms to take advantage of. On this same side of the building where parties can be hosted, there's also a little bit of interactive museum stuff... fun!! Some cool pictures and historical information displays can be found throughout this room as well! Brick walls, high open ceilings and all the rustic decor makes this place feel unique, authentic and like any other event venue that you'll find in Birmingham (that I know of).

Most recently, I attended an end of the year holiday mixer that was put on by the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce. Parking at this place quickly fills up so I was glad to see that they had a shuttle from a church that is located down the hill taking people up to Hoover Randall Home.
