The rink is always dirty and poorly maintained. The bathrooms never have toilet paper and the sink is falling off the wall. The employees are always just standing on their phones. I'm an old man with two young boys and we all love hockey. My eldest of the two boys made the local Colt's hockey team just before COVID. I was thoroughly impressed with the staff and coaches. Everyone here at Oak Park genuinely loves hockey and treats everyone, no matter their skill or lack thereof, with absolute respect and kindness. Now my younger son is here at the rink weekly improving his skills and in the Academy program. Heck, even I've taken to the ice and play the amateur bronze league and I love it. So what about the rink and facility? Well, it's been around a looong time and you can tell. There isn't a huge fancy pro shop, gigantic locker rooms, or a snack bar. What there is though, is a brand new rink put in during COVID that has great ice and very good boards. The boxes are nice and clean. The locker rooms are comfy with new benches and storage. Sure, it's not the greatest rink I've been to but it is a very good rink and facility overall. I've visited all the rinks between San Jose and Santa Rosa and what makes this place different is the great staff, people, regulars, and the new rink. If you're looking to just skate, play hockey, learn some skills, or even just watch, I totally recommend stopping in and giving it a try. Prices are much lower than San Jose, Roseville, or Vacaville and the ice is just as solid if not more so. read more

Friendly and helpful staff. Learn To Skate for both myself and my children was great. Coaches and staff treat you like family. Coffee Club on Tuesdays is one of my favorite times to be out on the ice. Try hockey for free got my daughter into a sport that has improved her self esteem 10 fold. Ehh idk how I feel about it yet. I see the basic classes and only see about three instructors taking their job seriously & helping kids while another three are on the side making what it seems like a TikTok video. Feel bad that the kids aren't getting the attention the parents paid for & i would've rated it only one star but it's for those instructors who are actually doing their job & not trying to show off. read more

This place has no idea what the word capacity means! The amount of people they let in is ridiculous and DANGEROUS. Adults are slamming into kids because they can't stop, kids are playing around on the ice making each other fall and people are holding on to the side wall just standing in one place holding up the line. So many people and so many things happening with NO ONE SUPERVISING!!! When I received my rentals there was about 4 people behind the counter and not one of them could be out there regulating for safety? I understand this is a public skate but can we at least keep the public safe! I seen a little girl SLAM her head on the ice from a fall and not one staff member came out because no one was there to pay attention! She limped her way off the ice barely. That could have been prevented if someone was out there regulating the ice. Just because it's a public skate doesn't mean there shouldn't be rules, regulations and supervision. I've already called the fire marshal on this place due to its capacity, lack of oversight and safety! read more

Their skate sharpening kid is an idiot. I won't ever take my skates back here again or use this facility for anything. Needed them sharpened for a tournament so I dropped them off a week ahead of time, paid for the sharpening and left. They told me they'd be ready on Tuesday. I showed up 2 days later and they still weren't done. And the punk kid who was there admitted he didn't do them when he was supposed to. read more

A great amenity for the area. It gets hot in Stockton and this is a great way to cool off. The place is over 40 years old and needs some love, but that will happen if more people come by. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. While you wouldn't think so, some great skaters have gotten their start here. Prices are reasonable for rentals. Honestly, give me a place to get out of the summer heat and I'm happy...and this place delivers. read more

Oak Park ice skating arena is a great spot to take kids, it's fun for the whole family, inexpensive and they have yummy hot coco to sip when you're done with the ice... don't expect any frills, just plain value ice skating here. it's really about 3.5 stars. read more

The instructors for the Hockey 1, 2, 3, 4 are great. The ladies really know how to get the little kiddies motivated. They are very patient with them and show tenderness and care. Family oriented place and I highly recommend this place for family activities. Private lessons are also great. take advantage of it because it really helps out. read more

Don't let the outside of the rink fool you there's a lot of value here if you love hockey or want some ice time for a free skate. The hockey shop is small but has enough selection that shopping at a big box chain doesn't really make any sense. Check out their ice times for public skate before heading over. This is a wonderful place to spend a few hours. I especially enjoyed the Coffee Social on Tuesdays at 12pm. $5 session includes skate rental, coffee, and a doughnut. There are instructors on the ice that offer tips, and some instruction. The staff is very friendly. The Pro Shop is great. Good selection and reasonable prices. I've had skate sharpening performed while I waited. It took about 10 minutes and was well done. read more

Fun to go ice skating as a family. It is over priced for open skate I would say, as their was no control or limit on how many skaters were allowed on the ice during open skate. The beginning of the timeframe was pleasant, however, toward the last half hour or so we felt obligated to leave due to being pressured off the ice by maximum capacity. My smaller children were being skated off the ice by others. Also, the ice was very choppy and far from smooth which makes skating more difficult for beginners. read more

The only skating rink in stockton. Lots of memories of broom ball here. The place has a parking lot for customer convenience and is quite accommodating towards UOP students. They also have deals which you can look up on the website. Nice place to skate and wouldnt mind coming back. read more

A fun little area left in stockton . Born and raised here , I have seen the town close down numerous family attractions and it's unfortunate. However, this little place is still going strong . We visited the week of my younger sisters bday and it was public night . We got some mixed information about food that could be brought into the place . One sweet older man said we could bring cupcakes and even pizza . However , when we arrived a younger man asked who had allowed us to bring food into the place . My mother was a bit embarrassed , and fortunately he allowed us to bring in the cake . With better communication they could have avoided the confusion . I am still not sure on their food policy . I would check twice before bringing a cake . Aside from that moment , the night was a success . As the beginner ice skater, had a blast for her bday celebration. read more

Do not get their groupon deals they click redeem and refresh the page and then it obviously says void now and they have the nerve to tell me these tickets are used this takes about an hr and a half to get resolved but then they give up and let us in but not because we were right but because the session is almost over and they don't want to deal with us anymore. I actually really enjoyed skating here the two times I came. It's a big rink, and they play music. What I didn't enjoy, was driving all the way to Stockton to find out they were only open from 3 - 5. I tried calling before hand, got no answer and the voicemail doesn't list their hours of operation or mention what days they're open. Showed up with 5 kids and had to turn around. This yelp page doesn't list the hours either. I wonder if it's a "we're open when we're open" kind of thing or if they have set hours. read more

Just an update. We came back here, driving two hours to do so. We wanted to try them to sharpen our skates. Our home rink is a failure when it comes to sharpening. Dave did a great job sharpening our skates and fixing some other problems, that we would never have discovered was it not for him. It turns out we don't skate as bad as we thought we did, it was partially due to bad maintenance by another pro shop. Well done. read more

This is definitely a family type of place. The prices, the atmosphere, everything about it just screams bring your family. The customer service is sub-par. I realize this is a minimum wage job, but if they could at least pretend they enjoy handing out skates that would be nice. The rink itself is a bit run down. I am not sure how they can fix this since I doubt there is room in the budget for many renovations. I do feel that if they did do some renovations they would actually be able to charge a little more for tickets. I don't think I will actually go back again unless I really need to entertain some kids and the weather isn't great for outdoor things. The run down environment just isn't very inviting. read more

Great ice rink!! Staff is very friendly and down to earth. Prices are always fairly reasonable. It's an old building that was built in the seventies so it is not the newest rink; however, it delivers what you need. Great family activity! Took our 4 year old daughter today. She had a blast as did we. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because they didn't have anything for the little ones to use to help them skate. they could make little walker type things out of PVC pipe and let the kids use them.
