It starts at 11am, but I got here at 1045 so you can get checked in and skates ready. The instructor was nice, I didn't catch her name, but she was helping my daughter for a little bit. The class size was definitely bigger than I thought? Maybe like 20 people? Including grown ups to 5 year olds? There was another young girl helping her since there was so many participants. I spoke to Bob and he was helpful. Answered all my questions with honesty. I appreciated that. The bathrooms were clean. They had tables and seating areas. You can order food, cotton candy, dipping dots, icees, and more. There were arcade games with prizes. The place def gave 90's vibes! I ended up renting roller blades after her lesson, which was $22 (kinda pricey imo) and only skated for about 20 minutes with my daughter. But it was fun. Spent $53 for 3 tickets. I had just taken the girls a few days prior to skate at Modesto on ice as we live in Modesto but they were sold out at the time we wanted to go so decided to come here instead. As soon as they got on the ice they said that it was really hard to skate because the ice was very melty and also complained that their feet hurt really bad. They were on there for less than 5 minutes. Mind you they skated 2 days prior at the other place for a full session just fine so it was kind of weird that their feet hurt and wanted to leave. I asked if I could get a refund. They were adamant that I could not and that I could change the tickets for another day. I went ahead and did that but my girls refuse to go back there and keep asking if we can just go to Modesto instead. The supervisor I talked to stated that Modesto uses the same skates and that he recommends wearing thick socks because the ice skates aren't made for comfort. I don't know if that is true or not or if maybe the skates were old or too new but whatever the case my kids don't want to go back. Since I can't get a refund, I guess I'm out $53. I don't think that is right. They should be more understanding especially when kids are involved. I could see if they skated for half an hour and then said their feet hurt but they literally didn't even skate at all. Thumbs down!

Rental skates were adequate & true to our normal shoe sizes. Lockers for storing personal items were 50 cents. Pizza was served hot & was satisfying enough for a kids party. Staff was not interactive besides the DJ, who led everyone in a birthday moment--having everyone form a circle around the the guest of honor to sing & do the Hokey Pokey. It's a fantastic way to get involved in a group sport, enjoy some skating with friends or loved ones, and/or be a spectator - in their stadium cushioned seating. I watched my husband play a game here recently and it was a blast. There is a decent amount of seating, as well as a snack bar on certain nights. My favorite aspect of High Country though -was their incredible vending machines. They truly have everything in them. From old school favorites like nerds, to classic chocolate bars, and much more.
