Some nights start normal... and then turn into Viking training camps. We all met up at Limitless Axes & Ales in Stockton ready for some fun, but immediately hit a crossroads. Right next door was an escape room. Suddenly the group stood there staring at each other trying to decide between brains or brute force. Naturally, the most sophisticated decision-making system known to mankind was deployed... Rock. Paper. Scissors. Guys vs. girls. The battle was intense. Honor was on the line. Pride was at stake. The guys won axes... the ladies won the escape room. And judging by the fact that I'm writing this review about throwing axes... you already know who claimed victory. So in we went, channeling our inner Vikings. Beers were grabbed, shoulders loosened, and suddenly a group of adults began grunting and laughing like a tribe preparing for battle. Honestly... we probably shouldn't be left unsupervised. One thing that really stood out was the staff. The young man helping us was actually on the job training, but you wouldn't have known it by how well he handled everything. He did a great job, and his manager stayed right there beside him coaching and guiding him the whole time. It was honestly refreshing to see a manager taking pride in making sure her team was trained the right way. Then the throwing began. Axes flying, laughter echoing, friendly trash talk everywhere. It was one of those experiences where everyone relaxes, lets loose, and just enjoys the moment. The lanes were super clean and the whole place was immaculate. But believe it or not... the unexpected highlight of the night? The bathroom. The ladies came out laughing saying "come here!" Naturally we rushed over thinking something had gone wrong and we were about to save the day. Nope. There's a button in the bathroom that basically dares you to press it... something like "what's the worst that could happen?" You press it and suddenly music starts blasting and a light show kicks off like you're in a tiny bathroom nightclub. Absolutely hilarious. The option for 30 min was perfect before our escape room reservation and we got to try almost all of the games before time runs out. My partner and I were looking for a chill place to hang out and play arcade games but we actually ended up throwing some axes before we left too. Definite plus is that the arcade games are fitted with swipe/tap to pay readers so no need for coin change or game cards. They offer a decent selection of local craft beers in the can and on tap. This is a great place for date night! We came here after dinner to try and do something different. When we arrived the customer service was amazing! They offered us food and drinks and gave us a great staff member named LOVE to give us a demonstration and let us know the rules. He was very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is just very pleasant it's like they want to make sure you have a great time. It is a full bar however we didn't have any drinks, we already pregamed at dinner so we were a bit tipsy. I went there last night based on the recommendation from a friend who had been there before. When we arrived around 6:00 I had asked if the place was closed or closing. The bartender looked confused and you said no we close at 10:00 why do you ask? I replied because all of your TVs are off! He replied yeah we've been having problems with the internet so we can't stream TV I said well that sucks because we wanted to watch the sports recap and throw some axes and have some drinks. Anyways we ended up having drinks and throwing some axes, despite the TVs being off we had a good time but it was so bloody hot in there we did not stay for more drinks and appetizers, we went across the street to another establishment to get something to eat and more drinks because their AC was working! The staff is not well equipped. We were told we couldn't close our tab because the person who opened our tab went on a 30 minute break. We weren't notified about this issue. On top of having to wait for her return we couldn't continue to add to our tab. So we had to sit and wait the entire time doing nothing. My fiancé and I gave my sister and her husband, who traveled all the way from Kentucky for the holidays, a $70 gift certificate to this establishment located in Stockton, CA. They had a 5PM reservation, but when they arrived, they were not given a lane for their reservation. Instead, two other parties were immediately shown to their lanes, while my sister and her husband waited for about an hour before being acknowledged again. Unfortunately, they never got to enjoy their activity due to poor customer service. This was their first date night in a long time, as they don't have family nearby to watch their young children. Went here a while back with the bf who is looking to open his own axe throwing/ rage room eventually. He's been doing some research and visiting local establishments and I'm not complaining about going along for the ride haha. Everyone was very helpful and willing to answer all of his questions knowing that he was looking to open his own place so that was nice, I appreciated that they were willing to help. This place is so cute too, they really knocked it out of the park making sure all of the decor from floor to ceiling was on point with the theme. I was very much impressed. I actually kind of want them to come to my house to decorate haha. This place was different than some of the other places we've been. I liked that they had games projected onto the board you were throwing at, it made it a fun way to compete. I had never seen this before. There were a lot of fun games with different difficulty levels. I also appreciated the axes probably because I was actually able to throw it and have it stick until other places we've been. They also have a small food menu and a GREAT beer selection. I was even surprised they had a non-alcoholic beer for the sober bf. Even though when he came in kind of late, she gave us the best service and the best advice and talk to us and didn't make it us feel like we were rushed out at all during my talking to her. This was a fun place to hang out! The workers were SO nice and they helped so much with coaching on how to throw axes. Our coach gave us so many helpful tips! I still didn't do well though hahaha. It does get pretty pricy. It was $32 per person for 75 minutes. It adds up for sure! 30 minutes would probably be enough for 2 people. We had 4 people and felt like 75 minutes was quite a long time. Such a cool spot in Stockton! They're fairly new, I think they mentioned they've only been open for about a month. Their service could use a little tweaking but every employee we interacted with was very friendly we just didn't receive any direction upon arriving. Our session was scheduled for 9:55pm but we weren't taken back until around 10:15ish this was after one of us went to ask if we were going to be called to play. They have a large selection of canned beer, cider & non-alcoholic beverages. I hope they eventually add taps as fresh beer is always best. The person that took us back & showed us the proper throwing technique was super friendly & constantly came to check on us, she was also very accommodating when some of us had questions. The actual axe throwing was so much fun, I loved the different games options & that they have the option to play "easy" or "hard" mode. The booking of 75 min was great for our group as we were a group of 6 however I see how that can be a bit much for a smaller group, hoping they add some different time options for smaller groups. The interior is very clean & their bathroom facilities were clean & stocked as well. I love that Stockton has a family place like this & that's open late. Fun place to have a business event or even a little family fun. Always like coming here and having a great time.

The actual activity was great however we felt super uncomfortable with some of the staff . One of the workers constantly came over to the table to watch our time making us feel rushed and unwelcome. Our time ended and not even 30 seconds later she came over asking us to leave because she had other reservations. We didn't even have time to grab our jackets and put them on and she was pushing us out the door. It was super rude and just unprofessional. We were planning to move over to the bar and drink and eat more but we just left because her attitude was so off putting. The staff was really fun and super helpful and the entire place is aimed at having fun. There's games and lounge seating everywhere and cool signs on every wall. The bathrooms "lumberjacks and lumberjills" were super clean. My only negative experience was being too scared to throw the ace for about half the session so it hit the board and fell to the floor a lot... but by the end of our time I was sticking the board and even okay at playing the tic tac toe game! I would definitely come back! My friends and I had a reservation for a birthday. Our waiter, Michael, was great! He was attentive and checked in on us. The beer was good. I did wish they had beer on draft, however, since they were canned. There were many options, however from blondes, IPAs, etc. The prices for food and drinks were decent. The food was okay, typical bar food. I recommend eating a meal beforehand if you are going for a full meal. My main complaint was the wait for the food. As for the axe throwing, I liked how this location lets you do it without much supervision. I've been to axe throwing that instruct you over the hour and watch you throughout. However, this one shows you the ropes in the beginning and let's you be till the end. There are multiple games you can play despite the normal target (connect 4, tic-tac-toe, zombie/bird killing, etc.). We went on the weekend so was $32 per person for 75 minutes. Fun, chill hangout spot! This was our first time here so we decided to just indulge in an alcoholic beverage and chill while checking out the atmosphere. We enjoyed doing just that while we played the oversized tic tac toe game a few times. Their whole set up of the location was very welcoming and we will for sure be returning. We had the opportunity to watch a few groups through their axe at a computerized set up. Here you can also play board/table games, with lay a few arcade games or sit and watch the big screens for a bit. There was a neat little wall mounted music Julie box to listen to some great tunes on while there. This location is also connected to the "limitless" escape rooms.
