Called to find out where else to park, but nobody answers the phone. Office is dark, depressing, dirty, and old. Front desk is beyond rude. They violated HIPAA by stating personal health information out loud so the entire waiting room could hear, until they were patient corrected. The medical assistant was a very nice gentleman, and asked to speak with the MD before confirming cancellation of appointment. MD confirmed office manager was wrong, and practice operations were not as described. MD stated communication is difficult with patients. MD apologized for the front desk, and explained they were having a site visit, so staff was on edge. Is that the patient's fault, an excuse to be rude? A site visit should not change the way your practice operates. How do you run an office with no time, or communication? Miscommunication is the #1 cause of medical errors. This place needs an complete renovation, from the people working there, with the exception of the lovely medical assistant, to the exterior. Everyone working, including physicians, were rude and unwelcoming. Another example of a corporate owned PCP practice, with no time for the patient. You'd think if it was corporate owned, they'd update the place out of the 1970s. They need to update clinicians and staff as well. Stay FAR away!

From the friendly receptionists right when you walk in those doors & the security team who locks up your belongings while you're in surgery to the nurses- lots of nurses- they were all very sweet, caring just simply great and my doctor- Dr. Gilbert- an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand & upper extremity surgery- he is truly amazing. Not to mention, they literally waste no time- I was on the bed, hooked up to an IV within minutes, waited a little while, anesthesia kicked in, the last thing I remember was being in the OR & woke up in the recovery room. The PACU nurse made sure I was OK, gave me graham crackers & water, and even helped me get dressed. I was indeed well taken care of at this Hospital.

Dr. Kaur is nice and respectful. I understand the people that answer the phones have a lot to…read morejuggle, but most of the time when I call they are extremely rude to me even though I am respectful. I called 3 times on different dates to make sure one of my reports was faxed over to a specialist I was seeing, and they even confirmed with me that it was. When I got to the specialist, it wasn't there. Another time, I was trying to ask which doctor I was seeing and ask why it was not my regular doctor. Before I even finished speaking, I was cut off. The day of my appointment, I get a call saying the doctor they scheduled me for does not do the procedure I was scheduled for. I had made this appointment a month earlier and called the day before, yet nothing was said until 6 hours before the appointment. So now I have to wait for another appointment a month later or have to use a take off to park in order to be seen 2 weeks later on a weekday. Very frustrating that this happened. Parking: There's some free street parking around the block here.

I have friends that run from Dr to Dr & seem to enjoy a full calendar of appts! Go figure??? Not this girl. Anyway.... On to Dr. Levitz! She's a one woman show. She's the only dr in her practice . Reminds me of going to our family dr in the 60's & 70's.... Dr. Harry Abe in Wantagh. In fact.... I haven't found a dr that I liked as much... until I found DR Levitz. The office is located in the Chase Bank bldg on the north side of Merrick Rd. Suite 300. The office is definitely NOT fancy at all. Far from it. But.... She is amazing. Soo caring & very thorough . She'll call you after hrs & always seems to be available. She's not a prescription writer so if you're the type looking for pain pills...she's not the Dr for you. She's very "by the book" & always looking out for your entire well being... Physically, mentally etc. She also offers a vitamin IV treatment. I've done it a few times & I did feel healthier afterwards. I've turned a few friends onto Dr Levitz & they go several times a week for the IV treatments. All in all.... I think she's pretty fantastic!!
