Always a great time at the beloved Oakland Coliseum. Went to my very first professional soccer game with the Oakland Roots and enjoyed in fashion with field access. For a first EVER game I was blown away! Being this close to the action was really fun. This is something I can get used to for a few games a season! Ran into a ton of coliseum friends and Bay Artist P-Lo! Great time

This review is for the cricket game I attended recently LETS GOOO SF UNICORNS This venue is pretty nostalgic and has a lot of history as it was once home to the Oakland Raiders and Oakland A's....... Not no more lol Anyhow parking here was $40... hard no for me. I risked it all and parked at BART and walked over... This venue could really use some upgrading as the seats are old and not comfortable. Staff here is nice Food options are reasonable

A "Thank You, Oakland" design was displayed during the final Oakland Athletics game played on September 26th, 2024.

The former home to the beloved Oakland Raiders and Oakland Athletics, and current home to the Oakland Roots. It's heart shattering knowing that our two biggest sports franchises no longer called this concrete castle their home, even more how badly shafted each fanbase was by each league. Oakland's city leadership without question failed to keep our teams here, but even more the team ownership and each professional sport. So many memories were made here watching touchdowns, home runs, wins, losses, and waiting in long lines to get a beverage or chow down on a hot dog. Yes, the Coliseum has a reputation for being old, "decrepit", outdated, and way past its prime, but there is literally nothing like it. You can go to other major league ballparks that I've been rated more desirable, but after a while you realize the majority of them are cookie cutter, and almost exactly the same. The Coliseum has identity, history, the best weather in the entire country to enjoy ball game, convenience with public transportation, and more importantly culture. The culture and the communities that existed between each fan base brought something special to each sport that sadly no longer exists due to abandoning Oakland. My best memory is watching the Oakland Athletics clinch the American League Western Division during the final game of the 2012 season against and my worst was being present for the final game "ever" played here last September. My heart like so many others remains broken of we had and ultimately lost due to corporate greed and inconsiderate commissioners that serve better as yes-men and not the "leaders" desperately needed to preserve the integrity and dignity of professional sports. I miss my Oakland A's, the Oakland Raiders, and even more the fanbases the Town once had that filled those seats on a yearly basis. If you have the opportunity to attend a soccer game, a cricket game, or just about any sort of event, please do. The Coliseum won't be here forever, and it's important, at the very least if you'd like to experience a major part of Oakland's history, to visit the venue that two championship franchises once called home. There's a reason each team when playing in this particular city had brought historical change and recognition not just in the history box, but Hollywood media attention that has resulted in two films being made about some of the teams leadership that changed the games of Major League Baseball and the National Football League forever. 5/5.

I've been to the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for so many different events now--Maxwell, Disney on Ice, even a PBR rodeo--and every time it feels like a piece of Oakland history. The place has that classic, old-school coliseum vibe that makes it feel like a true landmark. After shows, there are always crowds of vendors outside selling those "dirty dogs," and I can never resist the smell wafting through the air. Definitely one of those venues that keeps pulling you back in, and I'm sure I'll be here for plenty more shows to come.

I would not come back here after a bad experience! The parking fee is $40. While walking across the crosswalk, a car burn rubber and pass red light- we almost got ran over! No backpack, outside food and your water bottle need to be empty. Feels like the airport(they make you empty and throw things away in big garbage can next to them! Lol so much wasted food. They could just install some lockers and rent them out for such situations. Always ask for receipt since everything is cashless- the guy over charged us on popcorn. Oakland culture is alive and well here ! Saw a burnt down rv that people were stealing parts from and garbage everywhere in side walks. We were lucky our car didn't get broken into.

Beautiful Park with so much history here. You were just not going to see multi-sport combo parks like this anymore so it's really truly a shame it's going away (FJF). Spent 3 days here in August and September 2024 and just truly wished I had spent more time here over the years. Literally everywhere you go just seeps nostalgia from a team with an incredible history. No doubt the stadium is aging, but that is clearly also part of the charm. Truly wish baseball wasn't looked at as strictly a business, but more so part of a cities culture. FJF. #OaklandForever

Nice Roots game trip with the kiddos. Read that the section 118 baked potato was worth a go and it didn't disappoint. Can choose chicken or chili for the topping. Lilikoi boba and mochi donuts were a nice surprise. We also got chicken sausage, hot dog, and caramel kettle corn. Bathrooms were serviceable and easy to access. Security moved the lines quickly.

I sure miss my Oakland Raiders, but when I was at the LV stadium for the Super Bowl earlier this year, it was beautiful. Going to miss my A's also, glad I am frequenting LV more and more again. Quality/Quantity - As we are regulars at the Oakland Coliseum, I am surprised that I have never had season passes... But I have hosted so many games and events here for my team and volunteers. Old stadium, but works fine to me. It helps that I know my way around as a regular. Atmosphere - 132 acres. 10,000 parking spaces. Baseball seating = 46,847 (expandable to 56,782 without tarps). Football seating = 53,200 (expandable to 63,132). Concerts seating = 47,416 or 64,829 (depending on configuration). Service - Good. Price - Inexpensive compared to all the other Bay Area teams. Owner Comments - Congrats on your success since 1966. Thanks for making sporting events affordable.

I grew up in the east Bay and grew up an Oakland A's fan. Sad that they played their last game here on September 26, 2024. The ownership did not run this organization like it should have. The rumors and comments of how this probably was the worst professional stadium in all of sports was not an exaggeration. The stadium was a dump. On the flipside tickets were always cheap and the concessions were very very reasonable. And of course, my favorite baseball team growing up played here. Lots of good memories. I'm pretty sure visiting fans probably did not love this place. And to really enjoy going here. You really have to love baseball lol. It's not like the other park across the bay where people go just because it's a fun thing to do.

This is the way Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young looked when I saw them perform. Posted 07/09/24

Oakland Alameda Coliseum was the big name music venue when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. I went to Oakland for rock concerts. I'm not one to say if the acoustics are good or bad I just loved hearing the music. I know there was no problem entering and exiting. I love attending Music Events at this venue. My most memorable experience was June 19, 1970 when a date took me to see Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. My date had tickets for the floor in front of the stage. The folding chairs were not great to stand on. I had no choice as I'm short. When everyone on the floor stood up as soon as the band came on stage, I couldn't see the stage. It wasn't the most comfortable show I've attended. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this venue for a show in the future. I would make sure I had a seat in the stands though! I'm recommending.

The Oakland A's are leaving Oakland after the 2024 season. So I thought I would catch one last game to bid adieu to the Coliseum. It was all bittersweet last visit. Unfortunately the Toronto Blue Jays dealt the A's a shut out. Parking is $30, they take cash or card. The BART station has a stop here as well. The stadium seats 47,000 but if I guessed, attendance seemed to be less than 10,000 for the Saturday I attended. The ushers let upper deck folks sit at mid level. I got there a hour early and it was sad to see that there was garbage left from the prior event. It was laying about in the stadium seats. The stadium looked to have lost its luster and showing signs of neglect. The field was beautiful though. The digital scoreboard was modern and impressive. The field is sunken and below sea level. So when fans enter, they enter the first level concourse. The concourses have A's memorabilia on the walls. I made it a point to do one last walk about. Ohh the memories. I grew up in an Oakland A's baseball loving family. 1968-2024 Oakland A's.

The last year of the Oakland A's :(

This was my 25th ballpark and 23rd team (Cincinnati and Yankee for 2 separate stadiums). As a young teenager of the late 80's and early 90's, this would have been Mecca for me. Sadly that is no longer the case as this place is now a Shithole. But I'll get to that part. I rate ballparks on 4 sets of criteria Architecture. Food, Fanbase and a piece I just call other. Architecture: It's a shit hole as stated earlier. The A's have played here for 57 years and while a lot of great baseball was played here, the park has always been crap. For many years, they split the field with the NFL's Raiders. I remember seeing football games and seeing a baseball diamond on the field. They had the biggest foul territory of all time because of it being built for football and the bullpen was worse than any high school I've ever seen. It's basically in foul territory and a ball could easily end up in fair territory. The corridors were dark and old feeling. Food: No idea but I saw nothing that would make me think it was worthy of anything. They had very limited places open. Like what I saw rivaled a Little League ball park. Fan Base: There were less than a thousand people here on Satchel Paige in a rocking chair bobblehead night. It's not there fault between ownership and local politics, I get why they don't come Other: Man this team has a great history and the fans of Oakland deserved better. The area itself has had major issues with homeless, crime, poverty, etc. There are no bars in a walking distance to be festive and it's just kind of by itself. And now the A's are gone. Sad.

    Michelin Star quality.

Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

I am going to a game in the diamond level seats. What food do they usually serve in these seats?

I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that you can order anything from within the stadium. May want to check the A's FAQ for more accuracy!

What is meant by Jumbo Seating in sections 316 through 318?

Honestly, these seats are not bigger than other seats. Maybe it's an "old" name still being used? I sat in that section and there's nothing "jumbo" about it.

Are there any gluten free food options?

There aren't Warrior or A's games right now. Maybe during an event you could find something but I highly recommend bringing in any sort of specialty foods. If they have anything like that the choices would be minimal. It's worth a little up front…

What can I bring into the stadium?

We brought sandwiches, home-popped popcorn, and soft drinks in factory sealed bottles. The drinks were in a small softsided cooler with blue ice. There are rules on the A's website.

Can u park at the stadium with no parking pass?

Just like most places in California, you have to pay to park.

Can you bring in a metal water bottle?

No you can't because you may be carrying alcohol and they have a policy against outside bottles.

We did end up getting food that night and it was a fried chicken sandwich and a fried chicken salad of which were basically the same except one had more slaw as the salad base and no bun. I would highly recommend not getting the salad if you're not good with vinegared slaw and/or slices of jalapeno that I could not see in the dark. Don't forget utensils and sauces before you enter if you end up eating at your seat as it is kind of hard to get in and out of the seats. It does get pretty steep at the top. This was my first time at Circus Vargas and I have to say I would definitely go again if I could! I was totally amazed at this performance! If you haven't been, you truly do not know what you are missing. Parking was free which was a great plus! I found tickets off Groupon and paid $16 for bleacher seating. It was $22 for arena seating but to be honest I was as close as I wanted to be. There were some incredible performances such as the motorcycle in cage, juggling and the acts like the illusions. The performance was totally age appropriate. I heard a family near me state that they thought there was going to be animals and I was surprised not to see any as well but the performance definitely made up for it. I could definitely tell that the performers and entertainers really worked their butts off to make this a great entertaining show. I didn't see any mistakes or mess ups. The entertainers are VERY talented and you can truly see that they love their job and take pride in their performances. FOOD: They do serve popcorn and cotton candy. The prices seemed a little steep for me but I expected that. Cotton Candy was $5 and the small popcorn is $6 and Hot Dogs for $6. They also have pictures that you can take with the performers which cost $15 and although this didn't seem like a big hit, I thought it was a great idea. WONDERFUL RENTAL FACILITY AVAILABLE…read more We have looked at this auditorium when planning our wedding at the Zoo. We ended up in the Snow Building since it would hold our 175 guests. This facility is a little bit smaller than that, but is also available to rent. I was able to attend a lecture here the other night and informed that every couple of months they have speakers that inform the audience about preservation or whatever the topic may be. I heard Miles Woodruff speak on the importance of biodiversity with specific mentions to the work he does with Mandrills in the Congo. It was amazing. The room was great for a lecture. A good size with a wonderful sound system to amplify his voice. A screen was pulled down and he had slides that were clearly shown on it. There was a kitchen in the back and dishes were provided with the snacks they had set up for us. A large room at the entrance served as the table to buy our tickets and also show the featured raffle prizes. A large, very clean restroom was available and it had several stalls. The auditorium itself is a very handsome building and it was decorated nicely inside with beautiful lights above us. There is convenient parking outside and several handicapped as well. It is not part of the Zoo but is on Zoo property. Just the like Snow Building, you won't be seeing any animals - though, I did hear some barking when I parked! I look forward to attending another lecture in the future in this auditorium. And I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a building to rent, as I feel from experience it was a real pleasure to process the rental application with the Zoo employees.
