We were visiting Paris, TN for the first time on our 39th wedding anniversary trip. Really wanted to celebrate at a special place. We were blest to have found Oaklawn Southern Dining. The food and the service were of the highest quality. It was one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had in all of our years together. Oaklawn has exceeded our expectations! The service and food are both fantastic. Our first trip there we dined with friends from St. Louis. We started with cocktails. The Old Fashioned for me. It was tasty! My boyfriend and our friend ordered a bottle of red wine for the meal. They have several wines to choose from and they can be purchased by the glass or by the bottle. For our meal, we ordered the following: filet mignon, scallops with risotto, macadamia encrusted mahi mahi, and the pork chop. I took the liberty of tasting everyone's meal at the table and can say they were all delicious. My dish was the scallops and it was very filling. We all split the key lime pie and bread pudding for dessert. Every one of us was extremely happy with the meal. We returned the next weekend for dinner just the two of us. This time I had the Lemon Drop Martini and my boyfriend had the Old Fashioned. Both good once again. We tried the Artichoke Stuffed Mushrooms for our appetizer and they were amazing!! For entrees, we had the sea bass and the mahi mahi. The sea bass was great and nice and light. The mahi mahi was once again a winner. I chose to get the maple bacon Brussels sprouts as my side and it was a great choice. We also split a bottle of white wine and the chocolate cake for dessert. It was an all around delicious meal. I also have to comment again on the amazing service. The servers are doing an impressive job. It's on par with the service at the nicer Nashville restaurants we have gone to. We are so happy to have this restaurant here in our small town!! Added bonus that it is walking distance from our home. read more

Exceptional service. Exceptional food. Case closed. I've had most every dish here. You cannot go wrong. All the fish dishes are outstanding. I personally love the sea bass. My last trip, I ventured into the steak region. I had an absolutely perfectly cooked medium rare ribeye with a bourbon glaze. My girl had the scallops and not for the first time. It was her birthday so I'd mentioned that on Open Table. They had a birthday card awaiting her at our table and brought her a complimentary crème brûlée for dessert. Got to love the ambiance, as we were seated at a table for two in the front window. Great experience every single visit. read more

Very good food. I travel a lot and rarely eat at the same establishments during my week in town. Service is wonderful(Mia & Ivy) and food was delicious. Had the Sea Bass and Scallops another time both are great. Cream sauce on Sea Bass a bit rich for me but delicious. Just...okay. Food was okay. Service was okay. The issue I had with this restaurant, and why I'll never return, are the restrooms. There are two designated restrooms for both sexes. No "Ladies" no "Gentlemen". I opened the door to one and the toilet seat was up. Obviously, a male had used the toilet and did not put the toilet seat back down. Do I want to handle a public toilet seat? No. No, I don't. So I shut the door and opened the 2nd bathroom door. Same situation. Toilet seat left up by the last man who used it. I am not going to use a dual sex public restroom if I have to handle the toilet seats. Nasty. When I casually (not rudely) let the server know she might have someone lower the toilet seats she went to the manager. He came to our table, pulled up a chair, looked me in the eye and said "I just went to the restroom and the toilet seat was left down. Can you imagine that? I had to raise it to use it." I think he was trying to be cute but he came off as offensive and rude. I will never return. The food and service was not remarkable enough for me to have to deal with a pretentious manager. read more
