The only negative I have about this restaurant is that they don't have a full wine or liquor bar. They only serve a limited selection of beers, but I did see a lot of people bringing in their own wine. The pasta that I had was delicious. My husband's pasta was also delicious. The pizza that I saw and the daily special were gorgeous and cooked perfectly. The very sweet staff was quick to seat eight of us on a Saturday evening, miraculously. I was visiting from Tampa, and this restaurant came highly recommended by a local friend. We arrived right at 3 on Friday and were warmly greeted by the staff! The bread was exceptional, and we started with three appetizers: the calamari paired perfectly with its sweet sauce, the mozzarella cheese bites were crispy on the outside and perfectly cheesy inside, and the fried mushrooms had amazing flavor. 3.5 Stars: Took the boss on a date night and had heard good things about the Olive Pit so we gave it a try. The place was busy (always a good sign) and has limited parking (bummer). It didn't take too long to get a seat and our server was really sweet and attentive. I ordered the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. The chicken was thin, breaded, and smothered in marinara. Everything looked really great. The chicken tasted like it had a hint burnt charcoal, edible, but definitely not yummy. The spaghetti was really good, I loved the sauce, tasted like Prego. The boss had fettuccini and loved her meal. They have a bread that tastes really nice and oil at the table to make a dip. The interior of the place is charming and the bathrooms were clean. Not good enough to go back, but I wouldn't say I'll avoid the place if someone wants to invite us out to eat at the Olive Pit. read more

Order 9 in cheese pizza with $2 upgrade for pepperoni. Came cut into 8 slices. Each slice had a fragment of sliced pepperoni. If I had pulled every fragment off and put together like a puzzle it might have made a slice and a half of pepperoni. Certainly not worth the $2. Very nice place to eat. It has a very authentic Italian feel and look inside. I got the spicy Jason and it was spicy, but nothing that will have you reaching for water every bite. Wanted take out. Went inside to hostess and asked to order take out. She hands me an itty bitty piece of paper. I ask what's this? She says that's the phone # to call for take out. Really? I've got to call? The hostess can't take my order? If not for the good reviews, I would have just left. So I grabbed a menu and headed outside to place an order via my phone. Order placed. They told me I can stay in my parking space or better to drive around to the back door for order. So when I get a text saying order is ready, I figured I'd save them time and meet them out back. Parking lot is so tight, I was in the way unless I parked in a space. 10 minutes after saying my order was ready, they finally come out. Spaghetti & meatballs. Meatballs were spongy, like the prepackaged frozen ones you get. Flavor was pretty good, but texture, gross. Sauce was average. Spaghetti Jambalaya was very good. But at $18.50 I thought was a bit pricey. Tiramisu tasted a lot like cheesecake. Oh wait, that WAS cheesecake. So didn't get what I ordered for desert. Will not be returning. read more

I had the lunch size ravioli with marinara sauce (loved that you could choose your sauce!) and my husband had the build your own pasta with bowtie pasta, marinara and added meatballs. The homemade bread was divine ( we ate 2!) and the hi-light was a lemon blueberry mascarpone cake, so moist and yummy! Service was great, too! The food was exceptional. My brother his wife, my husband and I went for the first time earlier in the month. Love the appetizers, we had Fried Mozzarella and Fried Mushrooms. My husband had the soup and really liked it and the other 3 had the dinner salad. The entrees were fantastic. My brother and his wife had the Mark's Special, my husband had OP Spaghetti Pie and I had the Linguine and Clams. My brother is a very picky eater and he almost finish his dinner. The bread was soft and fresh. The L&C had lots of clams and the spice was perfect. We'll be going back for my mother's 93rd birthday! read more

Olive Pit is one of my family's favorite restaurants for a nice dinner or lunch. The building is immaculate, the staff is friendly and always helpful and the food is heavenly. We usually start with the fried ravioli and Spanish dip, both are delicious are delivered very fast. My favorite is Jason's Spicy Penne with chicken, peppers, and onions. Food is perfection and comes with either soup or salad, my choice was their salad with the best balsamic dressing I've ever had. Soup choices are Italian wedding soup and a tomato bisque, thought they might chance daily. You have the option to build your own pasta or go with one of your favorites. Brown butter bow tie pasta with chicken is delicious as well as their meatballs. Do yourself a favor and stop in for some fabulous pasta. Don't forget about the bread! read more

I just tried this place for the first time and I would've rated it five stars but I'm knocking a star off because the pizza. Now I like pizza and unlike some pizza I've had in the past this one had flavor so why did I knock off a star? It's simple. The crust. The crust was super thin. When I say this crust was thin I mean it was like eating a pizza on one a really thin cracker. However, I also got the Italian wedding soup and it was very good. The atmosphere was great. No long wait (yay!). We ordered the spinach dip and the fried ravioli for appetizers. Spinach dip: delicious but honestly was more like a cheesy garlic dip with a few fresh spinach leaves. It was good...just...should either be renamed or use more than a garnish of spinach. Fried ravioli was perfect. No complaints or constructive criticisms. Their fresh bread is AMAZING. The olive oil on table for it was...not. Tasted like cheap generic cooking olive oil (was NOT rancid, though, so no big loss. We just dipped it in our "cheese dip"). I got a Caesar salad and turns out, I'm not a fan of their Caesar dressing. But, they were GREAT about it. My boyfriend ordered a ribeye which was GREAT and the potatoes it came with were to die for. I have not been to the other place In 4 weeks now and I have came here to eat 3 times a week. LOVE LOVE LOVE the decor inside..it was very romantic. They turned an old fast food building into a good italian rendition...the wait staff all wore sold black except for the colorful ties..even the ladies.. We were Greeted and Seated immediately...A+ in my book. Our waitress arrived immediately for drink and app order..Tony ordered Budweiser and myself Soda...A+ again... I ordered personal size pizza with Pepperoni, mushroom and onions and extra cheese and it came with Italian Wedding Soup. Tony ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and salad with balsamic dressing,,she also served us fresh bread with olive oil and basil spice blend..OMG..the bread AWESOME....A+ again...HEY 3 in a row great start right???? Well, the Italian Wedding soup...cold and bland...Tony's salad was lettuce with one slice of onion and 2 cherry tomatoes with balsamic dressing...okay, I guess it's a salad..I did like the dressing and so did Tony.. Then our entrees arrived.. Tony's spaghetti wasn't too bad...the meat sauce wasn't bad. Tony ate the entire lunch portion plate..but my pizza ugh...the crust was one of those already made you pull out of a bag..the topping were added on and then it was put into the oven. There was hardly any sauce or cheese... I ate two slices but heck $9 for this....NO....I was sorely disappointed.. Would I eat here again? NO Do I recommend it to others? Well of course because my experience is my experience..yours maybe perfectly lovely. My check was $25 with taxes and I left her $5 tip..she was an awesome waitress... The place was packed when I came in so I was expecting it to be amazing and it was. One thing is for sure they need more pizza options.
