The burger looked like a frozen patty, my husband got the shrimp plate with Mac n cheese really enjoyed it! Plenty to fill you up. I had the chicken parm. Was good and definitely had left overs. I ordered a mikes hard lemonade and got carded. I'm closer to 60 than 50 so is my husband and I was with 2 others that were in their 80s. Didn't have my id so I didn't get it which is fine. Ordered the sirloin. Asked for our steaks to be cooked well done. The first steaks came out medium. The waitress is very nice and took them back. Said they recooked the same steak. But when we got them back, they weren't the same steaks, because they were actually bigger! BUT these steaks had ZERO seasoning on them. We made a second visit to Tom's Pizza and steak. 1st visit we had fried pickles and Tom's special pizza. Not very impressed ,but ok . 2nd visit chicken Parmigiano, almost not eat able. Very salty. Sort of out of a freezer taste. High price 15.99. Husband had lasagna both came with soup and salad bar plus drinks (cokes). Salad bar was great but the dinner was over rated. Their spicy sirloin and salad bar is what sets this restaurant apart from others in town. And their homemade hush puppies are delicious! If you've never been, highly recommend stopping in! I have been here a number of times and I have yet to be disappointed in anything I've ordered. The salad bar is restocked continuously and all looks good. Pizza is good. Steaks are awesome. I tried really hard to find a fault and the only thing I can think of is margarine. When someone asks if I want butter with my potato, I expect butter. Other than that, it's great. This place was recommended by a local. Got the Spicy Sirloin 12 oz $20. Salad bar looked fresh. I have to rate this a 2 because my steak was on of those you can't chew up. Ate about 1/4th of it and had to spit the little balls back onto plate. Told the waitress which sent whom I believe was the owner. He said he hand cuts his steaks and knows their good(like I'm lying). I told him this one is inedible. Tom's has been around Paris for years and years. The salad bar, at one time, was awesome. It had a refrigerated section with tuna and chicken salad, and was quite good. Once the compressor failed, they never fixed it and pulled the chicken & tuna salad. Never to be seen again. Sort of strange.. The basic management mode of operation is "if you want it, you're going to PAY for it!! They have started CHARGING for things like having your drink to go, or asking for your dressing on the side...Anything that requires the owner to invest in styrofoam, or plastic, get ready for an apology from your server, and a whopping CHARGE for any extras.. Tom's has GREAT pizza, probably the best of any restaurant in the area. It's a good "family" type of environment, with NO ALCOHOL served What-So-Ever. That's fine.. Keep it family. There's nothing wrong with that at all. Highly recommended restaurant, sans the GREEDY ownership. The best review of this place I can give it is the fact that the church crowd comes here on Sunday after service. The food was decent, and the prices seemed okay. Our poor waitress seemed a bit frazzled, but she brought us everything we asked for. By noon the salad bar had a rather large line, so beware of Sunday's after church, unless you are the one coming from church to here. In which case, enjoy. The Dessert bar also had some nice selections, but the brownies seemed unusually dry. Overall though I'd come back here if I was in Paris. read more

For Paris, I'd say this is one of the better all around restaurants. Tom's has a wide variety of food. I went with the small "meat-lovers" pizza. For a small, this pizza was huge! It was a thin crust pizza, and it was actually pretty good. It's not a NYC or Chicago pizza, but in the hunger for pizza, it hit the spot. Standard salad bar here, but no frills on it. My wife had a steak, with B. Potato, and salad. Nothing to write home about, but she did eat it. (ordered med-rare, came out right.) They removed the dessert bar from the salad bar but didn't lower the price. Way overpriced for the soup and salad bar when there is no protein on it. I used to love eating here. I have noticed a continual decline in good quality over the last year and last night was my last visit. Steaks have gone to a much lesser quality: full of gristle. Spicy sirloin seasoning is inconsistent from one visit to the next. 3 of us went to dinner last night. 2 ordered steaks and 1 ordered chicken. Steaks ordered medium, came out very well done and cold. Chicken came out cold. Sides were so hot you couldn't eat them but all meat was cold. And on the salad bar, why not order more plates so that you don't have to put lettuce on a 120 degree plate! Been a problem for years. I put jello on my plate and half of it melted and half slid off onto the floor because the plates are so hot. If you aren't going to buy more plates then at least buy one of those little open top freezers to use as a plate chiller like other restaurants.That would be great! Ordered the top item on the menu thinking that a steak might be their specialty but was I wrong, The New York Strip Steak wouldn't have been allowed in a New York Restaurant much less Paris, TN. This low grade c meat was tough, full of gristle and fat. I fail to eat more than three bites. Fully expect some type of adjustment from the management for serving this on a plate, however they said I should have interrupted the dinner with friends to discuss this event. Well we left fully paid up but with a very poor taste of steak that apparently needs a steak sauce when served to improve the taste. Visited Toms this evening. We was seated in a kiddy size booth. The charbroiled chicken breast my wife ordered was undercooked. The fried chicken i ordered was very overcooked. Tom's is pretty much the only "good" steak place in paris... The spicy sirloin is always good and the cooks know how to cook them... But as for as much else.. The place is a bit outdated. The salad bar is very small and has mostly cold pasta salads on it. The wait staff always seems they are so busy even when the place is almost dead and you see most of them standing around talking.. My family and I ate at this restaurant a few days ago. There were seven in our party which included 3 kids under the age of 12. Our food and service were great but the bill was not. $82.00 for 7 people. Two people ordered the fried chicken which comes with the salad bar the others ordered a large pepperoni pizza which also comes with two salad bars. So we added 3 additional salad bars. When questioned about the bill the young cashier hands me the tape from her cash register? She was a high school kid no doubt. If you own a restaurant, one of the most important parts is the checkout. Hire competent people to handle your finances as well as your customers. I don't plan to be back anytime soon. read more
