Do NOT go here. They deserve 0 stars. These folks are very dishonest. Took my 2021 vehicle in because AC was not cooling. I have only 58k miles on the vehicle. They had the vehicle for about an hour and diagnosed the issue as being my condenser being plugged. He said usually when you have condenser issues you need to replace both condenser and compressor. Estimated cost over $1,100.00 to repair. I said no there is no way it needs new condenser and compressor with that low of milage. Had to pay him $137.00 for his wrong diagnosis. Took the vehicle to Pitstop and they diagnosed the problem as a leaking o-ring and over charge of freon. They replaced the o-ring and the system runs and cools perfect. My 2012 Prius coolant temperature light and check engine light came on just as I was driving into Benson from Tucson to meet a friend for a late lunch. I told my friend I needed to find a service station right away and she recommended Oakley's. It was already late in the afternoon, so the mechanic on duty took a look under the hood, checked the computer codes and filled the coolant reservoir which was low. He suggested I stay in Benson overnight so he could do a more thorough exam and pressure test in the morning. The owner Kenneth called me the next day and explained that the impeller on the electric water pump failed, and we needed to replace the water pump, and he also suggested replacing the thermostat as a precaution. He ordered the parts and had the car running like new the next day. The best part was Kenneth went out of his way to meet me at an off time which was the only time I could get back into Benson to pick up the car. I received excellent mechanical service and excellent customer service from Oakley's. Kenneth told me they love their customers, and I believe that's true. I recommend Oakley's highly! read more

Very good for RV repair. They fixed our brakes on a 1996 fifth wheel. They worked us in on a busy day. They were reasonable on prices. They aren't fancy here. There isn't a waiting room with a TV and coffee. They don't even have a lot to pull your RV into, you just park on the street next to the building, but they were friendly and accommodating. In July our family vehicle, a 2006 Hyndi Tucson stopped running. My wife drove from ST David to Benson to pick me up from work, came inside for ten minutes and when we got back in the vehicle it would not start for anything. Because there were no warning signs, noises, or lights we were still under the impression it was going to be an easy fix. Because we still owed $2200 on the car, we went to a dealer a year in a half ago for a dependable car because we have three kiddos and are always on the road and at that time I worked in Tucson six days a week. We also had $400 a month car payments, so let friends look at our vehicle to save repair bills. No one could fix it after a month, so I went with the recommendation of a buddy and took the car to Oakley's Garage here in Benson. We towed the car to the garage. At that time I was told if they could not fix it, they would tow it to our house for free. At that time I was told a lot of things. We were new customers! They had the car about a week before deciding it was a blown engine and not worth fixing. The shop did me a solid and sent back all the parts--so we only owed for labor. $350 on a non working car. What I like to call a shiny paperweight. Now here I have to say that we stalled our insurance company, financial, and the shop for quite some time because well everyone wanted money. But we kept in contact with the shop the entire time. Days later I realized there was a chance to make an insurance claim on our car--a last hail Mary to save us and pay everyone if you may. IF the claim would go through the shop would be paid and financial would get much of there money. The day I informed the shop that we were going to have a claims adjuster come out, our car was fully in the shops way and they moved it to another lot. Two days later the shop owner called and said the car had to be moved right away, it was already towed by them, or they would apply for an abandoned title on the car and that would cost us hundreds. I could not get to the shop at that time, and offered to pay half of the bill with my Visa card over the phone. The owner said he could not do it over the phone, and I needed to come in with in the hour. I called our claims adjuster who calmed me down, reminding us that the title was in our name, and it was not abandoned in any way, nor had they had the car 60 days to start the fees. The claims adjuster called the shop and informed them an agent would be out the next day to look at the car. Insurance would not take the claim and realizing we just needed to give up the vehicle to have it repo and than auctioned I found the full amount the shop was requesting 16 days ago and took my credit card to the shop. The total was supposed to be for labor but there was a $60 towing fee. While I was there paying no other charges or fees were mentioned. And the shop owner said he would call financial to pick up our car that afternoon. I only received the small credit card receipt ---with no details just numbers. But did not contest it, because I thought we were done with them all. Payment was on a Wednesday on Monday financial told us they were never contacted by the shop and they needed an itemized bill that showed it was released. The shop owner was having surgery and not coming to work and his workers could not tell us anything each time we came to visit. One did say that we had paid the towing fees in full ---and we have that on tape. As well as the ever changing stories from the workers. On each visit they would not give us a detailed receipt, the car keys, our plates off the car, tell us where the car was, or release our car. They did continue to ask us about the car title and hint that we needed proof it was in our name. At this point I was starting to doubt the engine really was the issue with our car, and just wanted a 2nd opinion on the car. But still no car. We called our insurance to file for a stolen car and than the Benson police department. Finally 12 days after we paid in full we were told the owner would talk to us. And werequested a police stand by. The bill copy he presented was not the same bill I had signed for days before. And had labor listed that the shop had not done. The $60 towing fee was also not on this new bill. So of course the shop said we still owe towing and now storage ---but we owe storage from the Wednesday we paid the full bill on. For only $80 ---- a deal because he is supposed to charge 30$ a day for storage, we could have our car released. And now even after paying that money--they will not tow it anywhere for free. I'm sorry but I am not willing to hand any more money over to Oakley's. Yesterday when I asked the owner if going viral online was worth the $80 and he replied that it was never about $ he was holding our car because of my mouth! read more

My motor coach RV sat in storage for over two years in Benson due to Covid related work. When I could finally get to it to get it home I had no idea of the mechanical shape. Oakleys, after hearing of my tight time frame, agreed to do a safety check the morning after my call. They did a bunper-to-bumper safety check pointing out a couple of minor things that needed to be done immediately, some basic maintenance that could be performed in a few hours, and several things that could wait until I drove the 1,000 miles home. They were spot-on on everything. The coach performed great mechanically, even going through the mountains of Colorado in 100 degree heat. These guys know their stuff. My car took a dive as i was trying to come off of the Rincon Mountains from a day trip. Not sure what the problem was, I was able to contact Oakley's in nearby Benson. They arranged for a tow, brought my vehicle into town for analysis, and solved the issue for me, mindful of the fact that I lived a couple hundred miles away and we were going to have to wait for the parts to be delivered. Our van broke down while driving through Benson. Oakley's towed us, and did the repairs needed. We picked up our car the next day but, within 24 it was overheating. Apparently, Oakley's used the wrong coolant which ruined our radiator and cost us hundreds of dollars to repair. He would not take responsibility for his error and we are left to pay for his mistake. I was driving from Dallas to Los Angeles and my check engine light came on in Benson. Stopped for the night and called around the next morning to find out who could diagnose as well as repair if needed, and Oakley's said they could get to me about 9:30am. I pulled up about 8:50, though, and Mike (hope I'm remembering his name correctly) helped me immediately. He hooked my car up and ran the diagnostics. Nothing major was wrong, just an old problem that I already knew about. I needed to make certain, though, that I wouldn't be stranded in the desert between AZ and LA. He had me back on the road before 9:15! He was honest and worked fast. If you breakdown near Benson, consider Oakley's! read more

The engine light was lit and we didn't know whether it was serious or not. We called a Kia dealer and asked for his recommendation. He told us to bring it in for a diagnostic check for $150. The appointment was set for the third day after we called. We were really turned off for a diagnostic check that takes about 10 minutes. We called Oakley's. They suggested bringing it in next morning for a $40 diagnostic check. After that he suggested bringing it in the next morning so he could get the malfunctioning speed sensor. The bill for that was $202 and was installed in about 45 minutes. The speed and competence, not to mention the very reasonable rate impressed me very much! The place is not fancy but the business runs like a "well-oiled" machine!! read more

Later that day we took the van to Pep Boys in Sierra Vista (no recommendation) and they fixed the water pump for $165. Trying to rip off a single mother - how low. Heading west from New Mexico, the fuel pump in our 2003 Pleasure Way failed just east of Benson. We were towed to a garage in Benson after hours. Next morning, the garage said they were booked for the next five working days, but they gave us Oakley's number. Scott answered the call and within the hour he towed the van to their location. This was Thursday morning. As the pump was located inside the gas tank and the tank was above all the plumbing for the black and grey water tanks and Pleasure Way, in their infinite wisdom used a non-stock fuel tank to get a fit and none of the Ford numbers matched the pump that was defective, it's a miracle that Scott got us on the road by Monday. These guys are old-school and because they are on our travel route, they'll have our business in the future. read more

We were staying at Butterfield Trail RV Park in our motorhome when we noticed the brake lights on our towed vehicle were not working. I saw Oakley's while coming back into town and stopped in to see if they could diagnose my issue. The owner, Bill, came out and ran through all my lights activation and surmised a probable wiring issue with my Demco wiring harness added to activate the brake lights when attached to my motorhome. I left my vehicle with him the next morning while we rode with another couple to Bisbee. When we got back to town Bill had found a bad ground in the tail light and a blown fuse (one of six that work the brake/turn lights). He had it all repaired and waiting when we arrived. Even better, he only charged for the repair and not a bunch of "diagnostic time" like a lot of shops do. The invoice was a happy surprise. What made it amazing was Bill knew we would be a "one and done" customer since we were just passing through in our motorhome but he treated us like a long time customer. This is rare in today's auto repair climate. My faith in an honest mechanic was restored that day. I would give this shop 5 out of 5 stars! read more

Dropped by early in the morning, they put it up on the rack right away, got things fixed up and helped me check out the water tank mounting and gave it a clean bill of health. I asked at the RV park where I was staying about who would be honest and trustworthy to fix the smoke problem on the diesel pickup truck. 3 guys out of 4 said Oakley. So that is where I went. It took them three days to fix the problem, new injector valves were needed, but my truck runs better now than it has for quite a while. It was expensive but good workmanship and injector valves cost a lot. I am very happy with my service. read more

We had to take our RV into Oakley's in Benson for a check up and repairs that should have been done in our home town by a much larger garage. The work done at Oakley's was absolutely superb. Not only did they repair the problem I brought it in for, but id'd a couple more potential problems. I approved everything they found, because it could be critical. From cracked brake pads and rust on. Also redid the front wheel bearings. Never done as far as I could tell and definitely needed doing. I couldn't ask for better service and knowledge. I can feel a large difference in just driving it for a short distance already. I am absolutely satisfied with this business and their service. I can highly recommend it to anybody who asks. read more
