Eric from Lightning was my repair guy. He was referred to me from a mobile tire repair company that really helped me out, TreadLogic Mobile Tire. He got me parts I needed in one day and the job was done the next day. I could have went with cheap parts or more expensive parts but I choose the expensive because I value quality work and quality service that lasts. Eric really came through doing both of my lower control arms with the quality new parts so I don't have a catastrophic failure, again. He also quoted me 3 hours but had the job done in half the time in 107 degree heat in the open sun, no shade, working through the afternoon around 2-3 PM so the hottest part of the day. He communicated with me every step of the way from before he made it to my home and all the way through his entire time with my car. It's scary when you're way out of town and having mechanical problems... especially with a 1997 Class A motorhome... We were dead-in-the-water at a rest stop in Dragoon and Ryan from Lightning came out and was great in every way. First just coming out to Dragoon to help us... and efficiently identifying and fixing the problems, in this case a bad water pump and a couple of fried sensors. His communication was responsive and clear, and he made sure I was fully educated and aware and always gave options along with his recommendations. Upon completion he showed me the parts he'd removed, indicating the evident problems. I hate spending $$, but I feel he was very fair with his charges and I'm fully confident in the quality of his work. My car stopped working, thinking i had a dead battery. So I attached my battery jump starter, and still nothing, but the radio and headlights were working. Wasn't the battery. I relayed this to Ryan. He quickly rushed over with both a new battery and a starter. Turned out it was a bad starter. He finished the job in about an hour. They really are true to their name! read more

I'm very disappointed with this company. When I spoke with the owner Ryan, he quoted me $70 an hour plus $35 service call. However, he charged me $80 an hour for "diagnostics", even though this was never mentioned in the initial quote. After one hour on the car (including a few test drives), the noise persisted and he indicated he would need about 30 more minutes to troubleshoot. I agreed to the time extension, however, most of this time was spent on the phone getting price quotes for the parts that he said I would need. And he charged me for his phone time too. Besides, the price quotes were overblown. For one particular part, he quoted double the price that my regular mechanic charges. Bottomline: I chose to go with my mechanic for the next service, hoping that this will solve the noise problem. The only reason I contacted this company was that my mechanic did not respond to my message in a timely manner and I needed the work (mostly lubing) done ASAP. Won't ever come back. read more

I had a difficult to diagnose electrical problem that the local garage couldn't fix. I next called Lighting Mobile Service because I wouldn't have to arrange a ride and I could observe the diagnostic process. I should mention that the car was a custom build that I had just purchased and I also wanted to learn as much as I could about it's electrical system. The mechanic, Ryan, was prompt in arranging the time and date for him to come to my home. While the original problem was being diagnosed another electrical problem was discovered and fixed. I needed someone to change the oil pan in my car. I called some mobile mechanics and was shocked at the various responses I received. One didn't believe I knew anything about cars becauase I am a woman, another wanted me to call around to look for the tools needed to do the job. When I called Lightning I was very impressed with the knowledge the gentleman on the phone displayed. He sounded very confident, didn't ask me to call around for anything, and even offered to come out on Memorial Day at no extra charge. Two gentleman came out yesterday, Tuesday, May 28, 2012 at 11:00am, just as they promised which was very important because I was working and didn't have time to wait around for them to arrive. The immediately got started and told me they would call when they were about 20 minutes from finishing. Again, as I was told they called me to let me know they were almost finished. When I arrived home, they were finished, had cleaned up all of the tools, and took the old pan away for me (which was great because I didn;t have to carry the dirty pan out to the trash). Their labor charge is $45.00 per hour and they charge a $35.00 service call fee. I know that if I had taken the car to an actual garage it would have cost me at least $500.00 if not more. I love the fact I was able to provide my own parts and didn't have to pay to have the car towed to a garage. I would not hesitate calling them again to fix anything that is broken with my vehicle. I asked them about a brake job and was told they charge $45.00 per axle and again, I can provide the parts. Just being able to but the parts myself is a huge savings. I also feel that when I leave my car at a garage that I will probably be charged much more that I should be. The mark the parts up at least 50% if not more, their labor charges are $85.00 per hour and there is almost always that phone call from the mechanic to tell you they found 2 - 3 other things that need fixed. Lightning Mobile Services came out, did the job as promised and did not tell me there was anything else wrong with the car. The best part was writing a check for $125.00 and when I paid them I was told if the oil light came on or the car sounded funny to pull over, call them and they would be right there. Being a woman it is such a relief to not feel as though you are being taken by an auto mechanic. I believe I will never drop my car off at a garage ever again. I want to thank Ryan and Mason, the mechanics that came to do the job for their professionalism, kindness and the fact that they didn't treat me like someone who knew nothing about cars. So far I think I have told about 25 people about this company and how fantastic they are. You can bet the next time I need ANYTHING fixed on my car I will call Lightning. read more
