While working on my wounds Alopecia came into the picture so now we are working on this issue. Dr. Kaffenberger has always been patient and attentive, I never felt rushed in any of my visits. I have some skin issues, including cancer, in my family history so I agreed and scheduled the appointment with the referred dermatologist. Upon scheduling, I really appreciated that the staff asked whether I preferred a male or female doctor. Knowing that my entire body was going to be examined with a magnifying glass, I opted to have a female doctor. Leading up to my appointment, I received a reminder in the mail, a call, and messages in my MyChart account. Loving all that outreach! I arrived to find a giant parking lot in the back of the building, which is where I was advised to enter the office. I got there and was immediately checked in, paid my copay, and took a seat in the waiting room. It was clean (even the restroom) and at first, I was a little nervous that I'd be waiting a while. There was a good number of patients waiting to be seen. No worries though, because I was taken back to a room right on time. The nurse was super friendly and explained the process to be while confirming my medications and whatnot. After changing into a gown, the doctor and nurse came in and began my exam. It went by very quickly, everyone was very professional, and I felt comfortable from start to finish. Questions were answered, and I was told that everything looked good... what a relief! I was told that I should be checked about every two years and that they would reach out to me to schedule when the time comes. Jeez, thanks for making this so easy for me! I definitely suggest being seen here if you're in need.

I followed care directions but sent a message through the portal at 9 days (a Wednesday), with a photo, stating I was concerned about the incision site. No one contacted me. On day 11, a Friday, I phoned to follow up and shared that it was looking worse. They could not find my message, even though I can see it on my end. The nurse had me send another photo; her response was, "Hm, it does look a little angry," and she said she was sending it to the doctor so I could have information before the weekend. Crickets. The next morning, I went to urgent care, where I was diagnosed with a significant bacterial infection and put on a strong antibiotic and very specific care instructions. I was told I was a high risk for sepsis and a blood clot, and there was no certainty that this particular antibiotic would work. It helped, but not enough, so now I'm on my second antibiotic for treatment and am still restricted in my activities. I was told that stitches in this part of the body should not be in for more than 7 days. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. The stitches were in too long, and TWICE I contacted them with concerns, and they did not respond to provide basic patient care. The photo you see is the same photo they were given.

There are 3 woman who work at the desk and I overheard them talking about a patient who had just made an appt. Not really interested in listen to their gossip and about her dance mom problems . ( ugh) I was nervous and just wanted to try to relax. The nurse that came and got me was super sweet and led me to the room. Derek is my doc and he is very caring and patient with questions and explaining the process. I always received good care from him. I was there to get a body scan which I'm sure everyone knows isn't on the list of "things I want to do today", but he makes you comfortable. Other than the ladies at the desk, it was a great visit and I'm hoping next time they limit the gossip man's talking about the patients .

I had a breast lift full abdonmenplasty and excess skin removed. The surgery was rushed and botched. After months of fighting the practice offered to fix it free of charge with no cost to the surgery center.. I was terrified to do this with him so it took me a long time to make the decision. I am having pain in my implants which were too small and never dropped. They sit in my peck muscle. I told Walter Bernacki that my private area now looks like a ball sack. He had the nerve to imply that I was so fat before we don't know what my private parts looked like. So not only did you perform a botched surgery you then fat shame me in your office. You then want to charge me for another surgery that I shouldn't have had after I paid you $30,000 cash. You still think I should come up with $2,500 to re do what you did. I explained I don't have that money and I feel like I look like a monster... revisions are needed I get that.. but I've had two other Drs tell me this was a poor surgery and I shouldn't look like this. I am begging you go somewhere else if you need to get under the knife of this Dr. If was making payments to his office for years this would have been done correctly. Now I have to go through the legal battle of getting this corrected. I was stupid to pay him up front. And then to be fat shamed. He and his office staff know they did this job wrong. I also had an abscess that formed contacted his office 5 times and I was ignored. I will not back down this time I don't ever want to see anyone else go through what I did. His office may beautiful but his work surely is not. And if I could post before, and after photos on Google, I would. My implants are still sitting like this after 1/10/24.
