Ok, so I've been putting this off because I don't want to jinx myself, but here it goes. I really like Oakwood, like, a whole bunch. It's huge, and they do have a smaller section that can be utilized for smaller dogs or dogs that do not want to be as social. They say it's not 'if' your dog will get hurt at the dog park, but 'when'. I've had good days and not so good days with some owners and their furbabies, but if you keep an eye on your pup, and he's well trained, this can be a great spot. I always make sure too to speak with the owners of the pups who are interacting with mine. You get to know them and their puppies temperaments, it builds rapport and keeps you clued in with who your pup is playing with. I'd be the same way if I had a human baby on a playground. This park has an ample supply of poop bags and waste bins, as well as fresh water and plenty of buckets so the dogs don't go thirsty. There are also chairs and benches so plenty of seating is available. The park as a whole is a really great set up and location. And there have definitely been more positive than negative experiences.

Very suitable dog park.. The area is large and there is a separate area for smaller dogs which I believe is pretty much the norm. Oakwood is pretty well kept with plenty of water buckets for the dogs and chairs/benches for owners. My favorite dog park is the one in N Raleigh at Millbrook Exchange because they have lights and it is the most well kept of the ones that I've seen. However, the location of this one is tough to beat (especially for me, since we usually just walk!) so we go here probably 90% of the time!

We love this place. Two of mine are pit bulls, suck it haters, and we have never witnessed any "attacks" here Save your drama

We love this place! Lots of shade, lots of room to run. Most of the pet parents are cool. Occasionally you will run into an irresponsible parent with an unaltered aggressive male, but for the most part everyone is responsible. I'm tired of hearing the negative comments about pit bulls from biases owners. I have two and they have never hurt anyone. The important thing to remember, is that this is a public park, and you come here at your own risk.

This is ridiculous! Openly drinking at a dog park while their dog went after mine a few times.

TLDR: Dog boarding during the day and indoor dog park plus bar in the evening. Excellent customer…read moreservice. Ample space to sit, stand, and play. Attentive dog owners and staff. Amazing choice of music at a reasonable volume. Reasonable temp, on the warmer end in the summer. I heard about West Street Dog from a family member and was excited to give it a try. I didn't see a parking lot so I paid (~$1.50) for street parking. Street parking is free after 6 pm. There were several street parking spots available. West street dog is easy to locate and lists specials on a sign out front. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by two employees sitting at the front. They welcomed us and walked us through all the details since it was our first time. Save time by downloading the app (required) and filling out the contract in advance. Bring your dog's vaccination records at your first visit. One time visits to use the off-leash area is $10. They also have a monthly membership option. They keep your card on file for the off-leash section charges, the bar is separate. To use the leashed section is free. The bar is double-sided so you can order from the leashed and off leash sides. We primarily hung out in the off leash section. I like the set up since it provides ample room for dogs to play and customers to sit and watch their dog. The middle section is turf where dogs can use the bathroom. They ask that you clean up after your dog goes #2. Then an employee rinses the area with a hose. During our visit an employee hung out in the play area to watch the dogs. The employees here definitely love dogs. My dog received so much attention and had a blast. The dogs seemed to get along well. When some became rowdy, an employee gently separated them or sprayed them with water. We visited on a Friday evening and there were about 15 dogs. Only thing I didn't like is that it smelled like pee, which I understand is a challenging smell to combat. We can't speak on the dog boarding as we only tried the bar and off-leash area. Overall, we had a great time and recommend this park to others!

After the incident, I repeatedly requested information and the video footage the business claims supports its account. Although they have referenced this footage, it has not been provided. Instead, I was told they determined there was no negligence on their part and that they would not reimburse any veterinary expenses. I am deeply disappointed not only that my dog was injured while under their supervision, but also by how the situation has been handled since. Rather than transparency, I have received shifting explanations, refusals to provide requested materials, and a denial of responsibility without access to the evidence they reference. My dog's veterinarian has confirmed that surgery is medically necessary, which has been both emotionally and financially devastating. While I understand accidents can happen, I cannot accept the lack of accountability and transparency when a pet is seriously injured in a business's care. Based on my experience, I do NOT recommend this business.
