TLDR: Dog boarding during the day and indoor dog park plus bar in the evening. Excellent customer service. Ample space to sit, stand, and play. Attentive dog owners and staff. Amazing choice of music at a reasonable volume. Reasonable temp, on the warmer end in the summer. I heard about West Street Dog from a family member and was excited to give it a try. I didn't see a parking lot so I paid (~$1.50) for street parking. Street parking is free after 6 pm. There were several street parking spots available. West street dog is easy to locate and lists specials on a sign out front. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by two employees sitting at the front. They welcomed us and walked us through all the details since it was our first time. Save time by downloading the app (required) and filling out the contract in advance. Bring your dog's vaccination records at your first visit. One time visits to use the off-leash area is $10. They also have a monthly membership option. They keep your card on file for the off-leash section charges, the bar is separate. To use the leashed section is free. The bar is double-sided so you can order from the leashed and off leash sides. We primarily hung out in the off leash section. I like the set up since it provides ample room for dogs to play and customers to sit and watch their dog. The middle section is turf where dogs can use the bathroom. They ask that you clean up after your dog goes #2. Then an employee rinses the area with a hose. During our visit an employee hung out in the play area to watch the dogs. The employees here definitely love dogs. My dog received so much attention and had a blast. The dogs seemed to get along well. When some became rowdy, an employee gently separated them or sprayed them with water. We visited on a Friday evening and there were about 15 dogs. Only thing I didn't like is that it smelled like pee, which I understand is a challenging smell to combat. We can't speak on the dog boarding as we only tried the bar and off-leash area. Overall, we had a great time and recommend this park to others! read more

Google/ Yelp Review: I entrusted West Street Dog with the care of my dog, and he unfortunately sustained a serious injury while in their care that now requires surgery. After the incident, I repeatedly requested information and the video footage the business claims supports its account. Although they have referenced this footage, it has not been provided. Instead, I was told they determined there was no negligence on their part and that they would not reimburse any veterinary expenses. I am deeply disappointed not only that my dog was injured while under their supervision, but also by how the situation has been handled since. Rather than transparency, I have received shifting explanations, refusals to provide requested materials, and a denial of responsibility without access to the evidence they reference. My dog's veterinarian has confirmed that surgery is medically necessary, which has been both emotionally and financially devastating. While I understand accidents can happen, I cannot accept the lack of accountability and transparency when a pet is seriously injured in a business's care. Based on my experience, I do NOT recommend this business. read more

West Street Dog park is an ideal spot to gather with my dog and others during the colder seasons. The signup process was effortless via the West Street dog app. The staff here are friendly, warm and welcoming. The space is clean in spacious. My pup enjoyed the space and it was worth it for us. The bar drinks were Okay. I recommend the beer and wine. I do recommend West Street Dog park for our fur babies socialization time with their people. read more

Dog bar ! No dog required! Upon entering you have a regular bar area where you can sit at tables or the bar. The if you have a dog(or not) you go through double doors- if you have a dog you have to check in - if you are new make sure you have all the shot records- it is Really great- they really keep up with that! I went in with my daughter and her dog, after we checked in the dog took off to play and we ordered a drink from the nice bartender ( they have daily specials and Monday's trivia) The dog part area smells a little but is to be expected! I couldn't wait to move to Glenwood South to try out this place! My pup is about 30 pounds and very playful. I do recommend making a profile on their app to speed up entry time - I did this and all they did was look me up and ask for vaccine information. They require you to be up to date on rabies, parvo, distemper & bordatella (every 6 months which is common for daycares and boarding places but this is even enforced at the dog park). I paid $8 for my dog's entry to try it out for the night. I was so pleasantly surprised at how nice and welcoming everyone who worked there was. They showed us around and told us the rules. My dog and guests had a blast! There are plenty dogs who love to play and also dogs there who prefer to chill with their humans. The attendants watch out for aggression (and humping lol) and correct the dogs where they see fit. I will definitely be back especially since it's right down the road. Oh and as for drinks - they have a nice variety of beers on tap and a full cocktail menu, wine & even milkshakes and mudslides. You're guaranteed to find something you'll like! read more

I absolutely loved the atmosphere here. My partner and I came here after work with our 6 month old puppy for trivia night and had a blast. The host was awesome, the dogs were friendly, the beer was good. 10/10 recommend. Our puppy isn't fixed yet, so we couldn't go in the off leash areas, but it seemed clean and there weren't any overly aggressive dogs. So this place is a little tricky to find if you aren't looking for it and parking is hard because there aren't too many free spots that are usually available. However you can park in the Publix walk down the road and it's just a short walk. Entry is a reasonable $8/day and it's great that the pups have indoor AC in the summer. However the area is super small and the tile surrounding the turf gets wet and slippery. Didn't try any of the drinks but my friend got a mimosa and they didn't scrimp on the champagne so she got her moneys worth! End of the day I would come back but I would definitely want to have friends with me whereas with some other dog bars in areas like Charlotte, I would just go and totally sit by myself! read more

Well, the concept is cool but a lot of things were missed in the execution of this idea. I brought my pup here on a day pass to try out the park area. First and foremost. the music is WAY TOO LOUD. People want to talk to each other, which is hard enough over the constant dog barking from the boarded dogs in the playroom next door. Why are you blasting 90s alternative?! Please please please turn it down, dogs' hearing is sensitive! My heart goes out to dogs that are kennelled here or have to stay more than a brief playtime, their poor little ears !!! I would never board my dog here - they are blasting loud music 6-8 hours a day! Poor things, I wanted to rescue all the poor dogs stuck upstairs having to hear that. I wouldn't be surprised if dogs coming home from staying here have hearing loss. I'm so baffled by the management choice to have music so loud..... Maybe I was just there on an off day. Secondly, the place reeks of pee. I get it, its dogs playing inside, of course they are going to mark territory. But they could have made some better design decisions! For example extending the turf area to the back wall would have been smart so they can just spray it down, as well as fencing between where the dogs play and where the humans sit! I saw two people get urinated on because it was so crowded and the dogs were going right up and peeing where people were sitting!! Also often times no attendant is present to spray down the walls or floor where the dogs are peeing.. it gets real gnarly smelling. As for safety-- They have a giant plastic play equipment jungle gym in the middle of the turf which cuts into the room the dogs have to actually play and wrestle. So, this forces the dogs to play in bar area when theres more than a couple dogs - where people are milling around and ordering drinks and getting bumped into! Not safe for either canines or humans. Please remove the stupid plastic play equipment! dogs dont care about it, they want to play with each other- and humans want to not slip in pee or be knocked over by dogs because they have no room to roam! And dogs just pee on it and the staff never cleans it up! I had high hopes for this place, i thought it would be a great place to chill while my dog plays - but it is WAYYY too stressful of an environment with the ridiculously unnecessarily loud music, distressed dogs barking in the kennel facility, and overwhelming pee smell. I'd give it another try if they came up with better sound and smell management and moved the stupid play equipment that takes up the entire turf yard. read more

Staff is great about keeping any eye on the dogs, cleaning up immediately, and owners are typically quick to jump in and remove their dog if they are playing a bit too ruff (lol sorry). I have been waiting for something like this to take my well behaved border collie to for a long time! The staff here are all amazing, and I had a great time talking to several of them. They have a full bar with wine beer on tap and full liquor bar (although somewhat limited). They have snacks but don't serve any other food. When my boyfriend, my dog and I walked in this past Sunday we were greeted immediately. We walked up to the bar and were immediately greeted and served. We were asked if we had been before and when we told her no she directed us to one of the people sitting at a table by the door. You can bring your leashed dog into the bar area for free, or, if you can provide proof of your dog's immunizations, you can go to the indoor dog park off leash. We quickly located our dog's records, emailed them to their company's email address, and downloaded their app. The app was free, easy to use and an great way to load her info, provide payment information and I assume book some of their other services (grooming or daycare). We decided to buy a day pass which was $8 (monthly passes are $28 I believe) and took her to the other side of the bar into the "park". My girl Sadie had a blast playing with a large group of well-behaved pups. The park is clean and safe (although she was slipping a bit on the linoleum as it gets wet from frequent spraying of water to clean up the doggies "oopsies") but she honestly seemed to be the only one. Once she got the hang of the space she kept her zoomies to the artificial grass area. My boyfriend and I sipped our drinks and laughed and petted lots of pretty pups that happened to be there. Pogo is a beautiful white dog who is one of the staff member's pups and she is sweet as can be. Staff is responsive to messes, patrons were fast at picking up their dog's "gifts" (which the staff promptly sprayed) and even engaged my dog in a bit of hose spray "chase" which I thought was sweet. All staff is masked - you must wear your mask when moving around but can remove when seated. My dog had a great time and we will be returning here soon. I encourage all friendly dog owners to give this place a shot - especially if you're looking for an indoor place to exercise your pup. If you don't have a dog but love them, come check it out. As the sign outside says "dog not required". There were some patrons sans dog who were getting a kick out of the puppies' antics. read more

Very disappointed that they've cancelled their weekly Small Dog Playtime on Tuesday evenings. We had a great group of about 10-15 dogs and owners who showed up loyally every week. Unfortunately, the big dogs play too rough for the smaller guys and Tues evenings allowed for a fun, safe environment for the little guys and their people to get together. But at the end of the day, WSD is a business and I guess that the two hours they opened just for us didn't generate enough revenue. read more

We absolutely love West St! Our dog has a great time and the best part is the amazing staff. They're so great with all the dogs and always make sure their safety comes first. West street dog is the first off-leash dog bar in the triangle area, about time!! It's all indoors so you can still get your dog playtime when it's raining or too hot or too cold outside. There's a small obstacle course with tunnels that the little dogs love running through while getting chased by the bigger dogs. There's a turf area in the middle that drains so it's easy to clean up after your dog. The bar serves wine, draft and canned beer, and speciality cocktails and even has mocktails and tea and coffee. The bar runs daily specials so you'll never get bored. The bar just offers small snacks but you're allowed to bring in outside food if you want, there's even an on-leash area in the front that's perfect for having a chill lunch or dinner. There's also 4 TVs that play whatever games are on so you don't have to sacrifice hanging with your dog to watch the game at the bar, something I love. Boarding and day care are also offered, and the dogs get to play off-leash for the majority of the day, and they have larger kennels to stay in at night than I've seen at other places I've taken my dog. Side note: if your dog is alittle shy, bring them during the first opening hour or near closing time. Usually there's only a few regulars and the dogs are chilled out at that point. read more

Went really excited for this concept with my dog. The staff were very nice but didn't do much when it came to dog safety. I literally saw one dog get dragged by the collar across the dog park and no one did anything about it (luckily the owner had enough sense to remove his dog). My dog was humped constantly by the same two dogs and the attendants just apologized to me but said nothing to the owner themself. I couldn't even enjoy my drink there and we were only able to stay maybe 10 minutes before we had to leave because my dog was just terrified. I understand an environment such as this is hard to control but I feel the dogs that were hindering the fun/safety for others should have been removed. I will not be going back. read more
