It was a pretty hot day, but one of the nicest things is that the park is primarily in the shade. There are two main playgrounds right next to each other. There is also a baseball field, soccer field, dog park, picnic table/pavilion area, and more! The entire park is really quite large. We were just at the two parks which were perfect for the kids (ages 1.5 and 4).

They have a few really nice large playground area as well for the kids to play and plenty of room in general for running around or setting up your own badminton, bags, Frisbee or other outdoor games. Some big trees to provide shade if preferred and restroom facility there as well. This park is actually part of a large complex with a variety of options/facilities: - 3 playgrounds (one is a "musical" playground) - 6 baseball/softball fields - basketball court - skate park - concession stand (I'm not sure on their hours, though) - Turtle Splash Water Park - Wiggly Field & SouthPaw Dog Parks - 25-acre Dyer Nature Sanctuary and trail -outdoor performance venue/bandshell -3 pavilions/shelters available for rental May - September

Our organization booked an event with Kids Empire in West Chicago well in advance, confirmed all details, and even re-confirmed after they cancelled and later reinstated the booking. When we arrived, none of the agreed-upon arrangements were honored. The staff acted confused, dismissive, and completely unprepared. What made it worse was how we were treated. I was spoken to disrespectfully, accused of being hostile and of cursing, which never happened, all in front of my children and group members. My own son said, "Mommy, you didn't say bad words," which broke my heart. I take great pride in conducting myself and representing our organization professionally. To be treated this way, especially as a Black women's organization, felt like profiling and bias. There was absolutely no reason for the hostility or disrespect we experienced. The general manager was unprofessional, unapologetic, and took no responsibility for their mistake. We were made to feel like an inconvenience for a situation that was entirely their fault. What should have been a joyful outing turned into a deeply embarrassing and upsetting experience for our mothers and children. I will never book with this location again and strongly urge others, especially community or cultural organizations, to take your business elsewhere. The lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect was appalling.

We asked several times about this in June, and were told, "a part is coming in at the end of June, and another part is coming in in August." Ok. Nobody even thought to put any large industrial-type fans on each half of the track apparently. Considering most of the people who walk the track here are probably between 50 and upper 80's, this is a considerable disservice to the community to have this many problems with the A/C for over 3 years. Keep in mind, we all pay for this. Word around town is, "almost nobody goes to walk the track because the air doesn't work." You've been warned. Now for nice weather or for fall/winter months, things are usually ok. But the fact that they have had issues with the a/c for over 3 years is also telling.

It only includes the basic weights and a walking track which I couldn't even see because they walked over to the gym that was having a basketball game and said look there's the track upstairs I'm like OK there's no indoor pool and for $40, you get the classes added in whoopie now keep in mind there's not really a wide variety of classes and you could join other places for less that offer so much more And for the elite membership you get the pool for a whopping maybe 8 to 10 weeks if it's even warm enough and that's like around $60 a month and I don't know why you would do that for only 8 to 10 weeks of using something look around because you can join other places and get much more for less
