Housed in an historic old building that has been crafted into a really cool visual background to the scent of hearty barbecue cooking that reels you in. The best is yet to come as you enter and are greeted by super friendly staff, or if you are lucky enough to catch the owner, Tony, working at the grill. And then there is the barbecue...absolutely delicious!! Great selection, but not overwhelming, so that you can quickly get to the best part - eating. They also have a great bar, that is very well stocked, especially with my favorite barbecue accompaniment, whiskey. We left with huge smiles on our faces - great food, great folks, and just a great find that we hope to be back to soon.

A little bit less common yet, we find restaurants that provide this space over a long period of time. Martin's Capitol Cafe would be such. We ordered a tamale, carne adovada and a chimichanga. The chimichanga wasn't deep fried but pan fried, which was not common and already a red flag. We got our food and it was just OK. The chips and salsa were good, but the food was OK. My portion was also small, and the rice was a bit dry. Maybe we ordered wrong... The restaurant is also a bit well worn. It adds charm but I think charm that is not backed up with good food is like a band-aid over a bleeding wound.

This was a nice portion of food with a good amount of flavor in each dish. The beef enchilada was probably the best item out of the three - well seasoned beef in a tortilla, covered with good chile sauce. The service was just okay - it seemed like we were almost inconveniencing our server, but at least the host was friendly. Despite being fairly empty, it did take a little while for our food to arrive. After some research, this seemed to be one of the better options for New Mexican food in Roswell, so I'd probably go back on my next visit.

Their burritos are incredible - today for lunch I had a chicken fajita burrito with refried beans - the chicken was tender and nice chunks of chicken breast and the beans were seasoned just right! That reminds me - they offer a Taco Tuesday plate. I wait all week for the Friday special - the jalapeño poppers! The bar is open too - they serve a handful of beers and liquor too. The restaurant is located inside the airport but the parking is super convenient and you don't have to have a flight in/out to dine at the restaurant or a drink at the bar. Definitely come check it out - the food is made fresh to order - a real special treat for Roswell and its guests!

There appeared to be only one person working, which made the entire operation painfully slow. When you're at an airport, customers are working around boarding times, transportation, and other schedules. People simply don't have unlimited time to stand around waiting for basic service. The most frustrating part is that I wasn't ordering a complicated meal or asking for anything that should take a significant amount of time. I was trying to get a beer. Twenty minutes for that is ridiculous. I don't necessarily blame the one employee who was working because one person can only do so much. This seems much more like a staffing and management problem. If you're going to operate a bar and restaurant inside an airport, you need enough employees to handle the customers who come through, especially when flights are arriving and departing. Management needs to seriously reconsider how this place is staffed. Either schedule additional employees during operating hours or have a system in place that allows customers to be served efficiently. Leaving one person responsible for everything creates a bad experience for customers and puts an unreasonable workload on the employee. After waiting 20 minutes for something as simple as a beer, I would not recommend stopping here if you're on any kind of schedule. If you're traveling through Roswell airport and your flight is leaving soon, you may want to think twice before ordering because there's no telling how long you'll be waiting. Very disappointing and easily one of the slowest airport bar experiences I've had.

The red sauce I had on my chimichanga was just the right amount of red sauce. The reason I took a star is because I either received the wrong plate or they call it the wrong thing on the menu. Chimichanga is basically a burrito deep fried but what I received was a burrito smothered in red sauce, not fried at all. That should have been listed as smothered burrito and I double checked the menu and they did not have a separate smothered burrito on there. The waitress was friendly but very awkward. When we thanked her for items she brought, she just laughed as if she was uncomfortable with anyone being nice to her or thanking her. It also took over 15 minutes to get the check and had to go ask for it from her as she was sitting at a table with other wait staff.
