I highly recommend Oasis Dental Care. Dr. Rodda and his staff have been seeing my family since 2019. The new location is modern and open. Everything about the office environment gives good energy. If you haven't been to dentist for awhile and your afraid; let me just say that this office cares about their patients and will go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. After a few visits you start to feel like a part of the practice. When treatment is needed they can get you scheduled in a timely manner. I really like my hygienist Erica. read more

I will not be going to this dentist again. He is rude and disrespectful to his staff, and he was rude and disrespectful to me, the patient. There is little that irks me as much as someone who is rude to their support staff. I suspect these are the same types of people who are rude to waiters and other people in service professions. As an attorney, I have my own support staff and frankly, they are the ones who keep my office running and I try to do everything I can to enable them to do their best. I can't imagine ever talking to them the way he spoke to his staff. It's unfortunate because the staff at this office is great, they are always friendly and welcoming. They deserve to be treated with respect and Dr. Rodda does not. So, what happened? Because of the pandemic, I'm working from home and helping my daughter with virtual school. A meeting ran late, I live outside Flagstaff and on my way into town, I ran into traffic problems. I called the office to make sure that it was OK that I was late, otherwise I'd reschedule. If I had to reschedule, I would have totally understood. If I have appointments with clients and they are 15+ minutes late, they have to reschedule. So, again, it would have been completely understandable if they wanted me to reschedule. But they said it was fine, so I came in. The hygienist brought me back very quickly and she was very friendly, efficient and competent. Literally every single person at this office, except Dr. Rodda, is awesome. Towards the end of my appointment, Dr. Rodda came in and proceeded to chastise the hygienist for being behind schedule, in front of me! It wasn't her fault. I found his behavior to be mean-spirited and unprofessional. And then he rudely told me to put my phone down and when I told him that I'd been late, he said I needed to focus on my teeth. What? I was just trying to explain that it wasn't the hygienist's fault that I was late. The other time I had a negative experience was about a year ago after I'd had a gum graft and I was freaking out because it looked like zombie flesh (which I found out is normal). My periodontist is in Sedona, so I went in to Dr. Rodda. He was very condescending, insensitive and rude, telling me to "calm down" like I was a child having a temper tantrum. Really? How about addressing the patient's concerns in a thoughtful way instead of being a jerk? When I had my follow-up with the periodontist, he was a shining example of how a doctor should treat his patients. The periodontist told me it was normal for the gum graft to look the way it did and it was also completely normal for me to be freaking out, since I'd never had one and I didn't know any better. It was 180° from the way I was treated by Dr. Rodda. It seems as if Dr. Rodda views his patients and his office staff as expendable. Well, my latest visit was my last because it was the second time I visited this office and Dr. Rodda was rude and disrespectful. There are too many other dentists in the area to put up with one who clearly doesn't appreciate my business and treats his support staff so terribly. read more

Experience was not a good one. The atmosphere was very tense while I was getting my filling done. The doctor was frustrated with his trainee. He was having a bad day I presume. At one point he asked me to open my mouth wide, and I opened it as wide I could comfortably. He then said, with a tone that I didn't care for, "You need to open wider. I can't do a good job unless you open your mouth wide." I painfully opened my mouth as wide as I could. He never asked once if I was 'ok' or uncomfortable in any way. I was about use my hands to clear this man's throat. But I composed myself as I needed this work done. We all get frustrated and overwhelmed. We were two men in the wrong place at the wrong time, he, the professional, and me, the patient. My wife also said he wasn't very pleasant and that he said the same thing to her, to open wider, and in a similar tone. She spoke up to him and told him "this is as wide as I can open." Bless her little mouth. She was worked on too the same day. Disrespecting my wife is bad news for you. Oasis Dental, we loved you until now. Thank you for the few years of work you've done on our dirty mouths. We really enjoyed the past experiences but something is different. And whatever it is, it's not working in your favor. I expressed my concern with the administrator on duty and she did an excellent job in hearing me out and explaining - clarifying things. This office won't bother to tell you that they're out of network so that's fantastic!! It's been 15 months since her visit and they just, for the very first time, sent us a bill for $140.00. I find it interesting the name of this clinic is Oasis Dental CARE...because my first experience with Dr. Rodda was that he could have cared less. Maria, Amy, Rhonda and the lady who took my X-rays were lovely. Professional, personable and kind. Dr. Rodda? He barely gave me the time of day. It was the weirdest experience I've ever had in a dentist clinic. So, DO NOT GO HERE if you want to be treated like a human being by a dentist that CARES. My husband and I are new in town and Oasis was in our insurance plan. So, I made an appt., to be looked at for a back molar that had been sensitive to temperature for the last month. I get seated and the hygienist comes in and starts cleaning my teeth and taking the numbers for my pockets. I didn't realize they were going to do that. I mean, no one told me I was going to get a teeth cleaning! But it had been 6 months, so I rolled with it. Then I was getting a number of X-rays...18? Okay, I realize they probably need every angle of my teeth to have a thorough examination, but 18? No one consulted me that they were going to need all that. Again, he is a new dentist to me, so I rolled with it. After about an hour and a half in the chair, Dr. Rodda finally came in and gave me a very weak handshake, looked in my mouth for a nano second, barked at his assistant a few times, then left. He seemed irritated and in a hurry. He didn't talk to me about the tooth I came in to see him for. He just had his assistant hand me a referral to have the tooth checked by an Endodontist and she tells me he thinks I'm probably going to need to get a root canal. Normally, I would hear that from the dentist, no? His behavior was ill mannered for a dentist, and I left not feeling I could trust him as my dentist. My husband had an appt., a few days after me and had a similar experience. So, we decided to find another dentist and have our records sent to the best dentist we have ever been to...Northern Heights/JW Smiles. GO THERE if you want a professional, compassionate dentist who takes the time to explain to you what is going on. Because he took the time to look at it and do some tests on it, and he said I just needed to replace my crown...and he was right. Maybe if Dr. Rodda had spent any time at all doing the same tests, he would have said the same. Reading the comments here on Yelp, I see that my husband and I are not alone in experiencing Dr. Rodda's behavior. I also noticed that Tyler G., the Business Owner, likes to make condescending excuses for him. So, my advice to you, Tyler G., DO NOT BOTHER making a comment on my post. Your insufferable comments on those that have had a bad experience in your clinic shows that you lack the same regard for your clientele that Dr. Rodda does. Like the lady that had an appt., and called and said she was going to be late and your clinic said no problem, come in anyway. Your reply to her was insufferable. You apologize...REGARDLESS of what is going on in your clinic. If someone has a bad experience...that is on YOU and your clinic. PERIOD. That is being professional and running a professional business. There are too many dentists in this area, so find some humility and rustle up some accountability. If you can avoid it I would NOT visit this dentist. I've never felt so unwelcome and uneasy about seeing a dentist as I have with Dr. Rodda. His lack of professionalism and empathy made my visits extremely uncomfortable, and made me wait until I could visit home (I'm not from Flag) to receive dental care. After speaking to friends and locals I've come to find that I'm not the only one who has experience malpractice from Dr. Rodda. Others have had similar experiences where they have felt uncomfortable by Dr. Rodda's lack of empathy and abrasion towards his patients. While my experience with the other staff was pleasant, I can't shake off how unease I felt in Dr. Rodda's care. Please stay away from this place. They don't do their job, don't check insurance coverage. They take needless copious amounts of x-rays. They Don't request x-rays from previous dental offices. Charged my son $150 for x-rays our insurance ( a good plan) wouldn't pay for because they were excessive. He needed an exam because of a tooth hurting and the dentist didn't even look at him. When I questioned it they said well she looked at the x-rays. They are rude, they insulted my son, and they are incompetent. read more

My wife and I have been coming to Oasis for 2+ yrs now and I think they do a great job. I appreciate the personal touch that they remember things about you (even if it written in the record to remind them), that hygienists are personable and take their time to explain what is going to happen, how procedure costs are outlined before you commit so you can see the "damage" after insurance, and the facility is nice, clean, and modern. Is the time with Dr. Rodda quick, yes, if things are going well for your mouth that day, and that's okay. When I needed a procedure, he has spent more time to explain why I need, showing me the X-rays and the benefits of his recommendations. I also appreciate their small business wall where you can leave your business cards, because I like to support local business and this helps me explore new to me places. It was my birthday and my mouth decided to give me a gift....a tooth that I had ignored turned horribly painful. In a bind I reached out to this new outfit in town, Oasis Dental, and I was so glad I did, relieved really. Thier practice from the moment I walked in was professional and Covid Safe without feeling impersonal, in fact thier attitude was very welcoming and put me at ease. As far as the tooth...they were fast, effective and efficient. It was painless , and they explained all they were doing to me before hand. After the removal , they took a few moments to go over all they saw, and gave me a proposed plan of maintenance. I just could ask for a better experience on a tough day that I was unsure of what to do, a little scared and in alot of pain. Oasis handled all of that for me. The behavior of this dental office honestly dumbfounds me. First off, the dentist is rude and condescending. Dr. Rodda, if you don't like your dentistry career, you should pursue other options. Second, Maria, the manager, is disrespectful and unfit to run an office. Her lack of sympathy and understanding of patients is astounding. When I had an issue, she was highly defensive and then canceled my appointments and plan! She just refunded me (partially) and didn't even tell me over the phone. Maria is unprofessional and quick to blame anyone but herself and her establishment. In fact, she told me several times, "I don't work for you; I work for this office." You can look through their reviews; if someone had a good experience, they love you! If you have a bad experience, they tell you to take a hike. Their responses to customers with bad experiences are cynical and ill-mannered. I know this is one of the only options in Flagstaff, but you'd be better off going somewhere else. And by the way, Maria, I disputed the charge with my bank, and they agreed your actions were unethical and unacceptable, and I am getting all my money back. Definitely go somewhere else! I always appreciated Dr. Rodda's quick work, but that changed after having a filling replaced and a permanent crown done in the same appointment. His quick work aggravated my nerve endings and the teeth were very sensitive for several months. Additionally my face was sore and bruised for 3 weeks after the work was done. I remember the previous dentist, Dr. Olivas taking more time during appointments to allow time for nerves to settle down and engage with the patient. Dr. Rodda and his staff were visit with each other, but not me. Kind of made me feel like a third wheel. read more

After several years without seeing a dentist I made an appointment, because I hadn't confirmed my appointment a week prior to my schedule appointment it was cancelled my the office. When I called toTRY to explain the situation Maria E was very rude unprofessional.. she kept cutting me off while I was talking. She had no empathy to the situation... it was all my fault. She never even offered an apology. I assume that business is great to turn potential customers away. Although if staff is anything like Maria I don't see how the business has survived. read more

This place is great. I was traveling through the area and part of a filling fell out. I called my dentist and she said I should get it checked since I wasn't going to be home for a few weeks. I went to the Oasis office and was treated to fantastic service. They have all the newest technology and the office is pleasing and peaceful. The technicians and receptionist were all extremely helpful. The dentist came in and took a look at the x-rays they had taken and then gave my teeth an exam. Turns out the tooth didn't need any immediate care so they sent me on my way. Since I didn't have insurance they didn't even charge me for the visit, only the x-ray. I was very unhappy with my experience this last time i went in! They have a new owner and he was very rude, he would not give me the same quote that i received just a few months before! He walked out in the middle of me talking to him and also basically put me down for having to get a tooth pulled! After He was done He just walked out did not give me any aftercare instructions nothing.He was very unprofessional and it was a very unpleasant experience if i was not in so much pain i would have walked out! Dr Rodda is NOT the gentle dentist that Olivas was. When Olivas did work he'd do a little and let me close my mouth so my jaw didn't hurt. Well not so with Rodda. Having no insurance my husband and I have fallen behind on our dental work:( My mom recommended oasis dental and after comparing prices and realizing they are cheaper than North Country (because we aren't considered low income) we chose to set up our appointments here! After contacting that specialist they have to give me any evaluation before they can prescribe me anxiety medicine for my visit I am afraid to even go to them because they don't understand. During a houseboat trip to Lake Powell, my husband chipped his tooth while sliding down a slide face first. This happened on a Friday morning and my husband had a business trip on Monday for a week.
