I have lived with Oral Pain for the last 25 years due to 45 years of smoking, and bad oral health habits. As a result I paid the price, many teeth which had issues were extracted (That decision was made by my prior dentists for insurance reasons, not Oral Health). As a result I would not smile and I was very self conscious about my appearance. My Wife told me about Oasis Dentistry and the people that work there and their compassion and patience. She said "Dr. Le will listen to you, and your proposed solution that for the last 15 years your Dentists would not listen and they said No". Talk to Dr Le and tell him your idea of the upper bridge and all those crazy thoughts from that crazy Engineering mind of yours, he will listen. So being a good husband, I did what I was told, I set up and appointment with Dr. Le. When I arrived they took X-Rays, measurements, cleaned my teeth of which there were only 6 teeth left in the uppers (I asked if I get a discount 'cause there are only teeth) they laughed. They didn't judge me they CARED about me. I explained my Engineering solution for the missing teeth, to create a bridge on my uppers to provide a stable foundation for biteing, eating and Oral care. Doctor Le said "Dentist's typically won't consider an upper bridge that large but I will review this with my oral surgeon, and we will work out the plan, if you will trust me". Bottom Line ________________ Oasis Dentistry know how to listen and find the right dental solution for YOU, just like they did for me, the perfect Bridge on my upper teeth which restored my smile and my confidence, and I am 'NO LONGER IN PAIN' when, I eat or drink cold or hot fluids. Keep an eye on their billing practices!!! I was a patient here for a several years . It was a wonderful practice until the dentist sold it. Without a word they just started sending in the new dentist. I really liked the founding dentist so I requested to see him going forward . They skipped the exam part of one of my last cleaning and exams so I requested come back in for the exam as well as asking them to adjust my night guard. (Spent a fortune for the night guard btw) Amazingly, they sent me to the new dentist again. Then I received a $75 bill. I paid it but when I asked what it was all about, they explained it was for changing providers and said I should have asked not to switch. What? The receptionist was rude and did not credit the $75. Very shifty practice. Overall, It seems like they are just money grabbing and seeing what they can get away with collecting in addition to what the insurance will pay. I and my daughter have moved on but we are still waiting for our records. So far they sent me an email with one set of xrays from my file . Nothing for my daughter. No history or records. read more

Great dentist and good people. It was a little disturbing being told that I need to call back in a morning that I can come in and see if they have time for me. Especially when vomiting. I've always scheduled things have been a teacher for over 25 years and I'm very conscious of the importance of time management. Again, very sorry that I didn't know ahead that I was still going to be sick. Was hoping I would not be. I like all the people there a lot, it was one rude, phone call. I had a tooth that cracked and lost its bonding. Split in half. I was referred by a friend to Dr. Rhoades. He was on leave so I took a chance with Dr. Le. I approached this appointment with trepidation having bad experiences in the past. Dr. Le was amazing. Confident with his tools and attention to detail. He layers the bonding so that the color is more natural and real. This takes additional labor. Other dentists just lay a blob of bonding on and call it a day. Plus, he uses some type of skinny metal thing that helps to create the shape. He has a lot of attention to detail. This dentist is very very good. Best dentist I have had. I've been going to Oasis Dentistry for over 10 years. This past year I had multiple procedures done to remove all of my old Mercury Amalgams, which is a pretty big undertaking. Dr Le and Lupe were absolutely amazing. They were so kind and compassionate and were very attentive to every last detail to make sure that I was comfortable and anxiety-free. Dr Le would sit and talk to me about my family and truly take the time to get to know me. Lupe provided a comfy blanket for me and always made me feel so cared about. They truly treat you like family here. It feels odd to say, but having these very invasive procedures was actually very pleasant and lovely. It completely gave me back the trust in dentists after being treated very roughly by my childhood dentist when she had placed all those archaic mercury fillings. My dental hygienist Josh is by far and away the best hygienist I have ever had. He is so gentle and careful. He never causes me pain and I always enjoy spending my hour with him. He is very skilled and knowledgable and constantly teaching me new things about taking care of my teeth. If you want to go to a dentist who truly cares about you, Oasis Dentistry is the place. I now live 35 minutes away, and continue to make the drive back to Mission Valley because I cant imagine having a better experience anywhere else. read more

The dentist and dental technicians here are awesome but the office staff needs work. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because of the office staff and their policies. I was a patient here for 9 years and missed one appointment and was charged $45 for the first and only time I missed an appointment. No customer appreciation! Adios, time find a dental office that doesn't treat their customers like nothing more than numbers. If you read the reviews the common issue is that the front office needs better training in customer service and is the cause of most people leaving. Out of all doctor visits, dentist ones are usually my least favorite. Something about those tools picking at your teeth and the fluoride makes me squeamish. I'd rather get a bazillion shots before I go to the dentist. And I put off scheduling my appointments until the last possible minute....until I went to Dr. Rhoades! I love this dentist. I love that the office is smaller and you don't feel like you are just another mouth without feelings. I also love that they don't try to sell you unnecessary things, which always makes me uncomfortable! No, I do not want $50 toothpaste and no, I do not want a mouth guard for funsies. Dr. Rhoades is fantastic and it is true that he remembers your name. I felt comfortable and at ease. Plus it doesn't hurt that they have TVs on the ceiling and in front of the chairs....if only all dentists had this when I was younger, I might not have hated dentists so much. I also like the hygienists--they really listed to your concerns. For instance, my last hygienist used a water tool on my gums that basically annihilated them and I couldn't eat solid foods for three weeks. I told my new hygienist about that, she listened (and verified that the technique my old dentist used was not necessary), and my gums were not swollen when I left! Just as it should be! It helps pass the time. Your free to change the station and adjust the volume. They even have the television set in the ceiling so you can watch while they clean your teeth. This is actually the first an only Yelp review I have ever written and that's because this place needs to be recognized! I went I for nothing but a check up and cleaning, but since we had extra time Dr. Jen removed two of my wisdom teeth for me. It was so painless and literally took less than 30 minutes for the whole process. I got a cleaning directly after and off I went on my way home. Having teeth pulled so painlessly and quick is unheard of. She called me later that afternoon to make sure I was doing okay and I went back to work the next morning!! I'm usually a person who dreads going to see the dentist. The exception to this is Dr Rhoades. Dr Rhoades is very caring and professional. This has a very calming effect. That and I'm watching tv (built into the ceilings) with headphones on when I'm being worked on. I can't tell if the drill is going or not. Part of feeling comfortable at the dentist is not feeling pain AND not feeling like I'm being sold up on something (like an extended warranty on a new car). With Dr Rhoades I feel like I'm working with a medical professional, not a high pressure sales person. Dr Rhoades is the best medical professional I've ever had. I was new to San Diego and was referred to Dr. Rhoades by a friend in the area. She said she'd done some research and found the BEST dentist. But I didn't take her word for it. I did my own research and, as it would have it, it led me to the same place - Dr. Rhoades at Oasis Dentistry. I've been going here for two years now and have always had an exceptional experience. The receptionist, Sue, is a sweetheart. She always remembers my name and is quick to acknowledge anyone in the waiting room. Contrary to some of the other reviews, I've never had billing issues or unexpected expenses of any sort. Dr. Rhoades' assistant, Teresa, is AMAZING. I LOVE her! She's funny, kind, thoughtful, relatable, and just makes the whole experience memorable - in a good way. You'd never believe she qualified for the senior olympics! She's a doll. If you see her, tell her Ralph sent you. I think the best word to describe Dr. Rhoades is gentle. He genuinely cares about the comfort of his patients. Even in something as subtle as body language, it shows. I've had more than my share of dental work, and Dr. Rhoades is the most gentle and accommodating dentist I've worked with. You can tell his staff love to work with him, too, because they all get along so incredibly well. They seem as much friends as co-workers. I remember in my very first appointment Dr. Rhoades and his assistant were singing a song on the radio and, with all kinds of instruments in my mouth, were trying to get me to mumble along with them - it was hilarious! I have always been afraid of major dental work but Dr. Le reassured me that he would listen to me and take care of it. The day came to have the old tooth grounded down. Having to switch from my normal dentist of 20 years because of insurance issues, I went to Dr. Rhoades because of several glowing recommendations. And what an extremely pleasant surprise! He is personable, caring, and professional.
