One of the best game stores of all time! My fiance and I have been in multiple times to visit and partake in several purchases as well as sell a few items too! Oasis Games has a wide variety of games, but we specifically love to go and purchase Magic The Gathering cards. They seem to always have a consistently rotating amount of stock with cards ranging from the first series ever, all the way to the most recent release! They also offer a website for traded-in cards inventory that can be accessed from home, and you can pick up in person, or even access it with one of their available computers in the store! Most of their prices are reasonably close to MSRP, but where they really excel is in their sale value! They provide a fantastic store value percentage that is greater than every other game store I have ever been to. They then reached out and asked if they could do anything to help after getting negative feedback and doubled down on claiming they wouldn't honor the sold price. Definitely avoid this shop as they value a quick buck over any customers. Judging from other reviews it sounds like they do this often and don't care about being a respectable business. read more

The following day I received another email that my order was canceled and refunded. I went to their website and they had the *same cards* listed for a much higher price! The card shop itself is amazing, let's just start off with that. But we stood at the counter for over 10 minutes before one of the 3 employees acknowledged us. Like everywhere else, they had barely any Pokémon products in stock. Normally I look for sealed boxes but all they had left were single packs. I got 10 Steam Siege packs. Opening them, we noticed a few cards were out of order. I looked at the seals on all of them and none seemed to be resealed or ironed. But when I went to redeem the online codes for my PTCGO account, 2 of the 10 codes didn't work - they had already been redeemed by another account. So between some of the cards being physically out of order and then 20% of the online codes already redeemed, I'm convinced these packs I bought were tampered with. Wouldn't recommend this store for Pokémon cards. read more

Really friendly staff - I was asked to play a game of MTG upon entering the store "PAUPER?? You here for Pauper???" (I think they really wanted an extra player!), and when I said i didnt know how to play, the staff member introduced himself, shook my hand and broke off for a minute to go through basic MTG play. I didnt end up playing, but thanks to him, I am now probably going to start! They also have lots of expansions for tabletop games I have never seen and a really good selection. I am not from the area, but I will come back to this store next time I am in town and recommend others to do so as well! read more

Positives: Amazing location, lots of game space, very nice store atmosphere and coloring, a pretty nice collection of MTG singles and board games. Lots of different store events as well. Manager is really nice and knowledgeable. Negatives: Only some of the staff are friendly. A few of the front desk employees are rude, unhelpful, and sometimes just ignore people while on their phone. A lot of cards are overpriced and the conditions listed are not accurate with no refund options after receiving orders. This is the only game store I've been to that does random raffles to a very small selection of the player base for promos instead of giving out a promo to each person attending an event. Overall a great place to go and play board games and card games, but be careful about what you spend your money on there, and don't expect good deals or promos when playing commander. read more

I came here to buy a Pokémon pack for my son who is a Pokémon fanatic. We bought a "Chilling Reign" Pokemon pack. Little did we know the $4.00 pack was resealed! How do we know it's resealed you ask? Its card for ten free random online Pokémon cards said 2015, it was also really scratched up which showed it was not recently created by the Pokémon company. But everything else was fine. But don't recommend buying Pokémon cards there. read more

Wife and kids are in town for vacation. We thought about getting a new game to play, as I own about 400 games and review and do videos, but only brought a couple. When we went it, the place looked big and nice, but we were greeted rudely and my wife asked to leave. I said let's just look for a minute. Josh Wii, the owner, is one of the most friendly and personable people I've ever met. Every time I go in he's always friendly to both his staff and his customers. He loves what he does and he wants to make sure you have as much fun as he does. Not to mention the professional and efficient manner they run events and tournaments at their location. Buy booster packs here at your own risk. They have a nice display case full of beautiful holographic cards, including the ultra rare rainbow and gold Pokemon cards, which they sell at mint condition market prices. I'll never be able to prove it due to pull rates not being disclosed by the manufacturer, but this leads me to believe they could be weighing out all their booster packs and opening the ones with the best chances of containing the ultra rare cards to sell at high prices. If they do it, that's their prerogative but they still charge more than boosters cost at target. At least there you are only contending with the possibility that other customers might be weighing or checking the packs somehow. That said, there is still a nice selection of board games and accessories, as well as a cafe. I've never had the chance to play games there, I only bought cards until I realized what *might* be going on. read more

Horrible customer service. Went there once recently to play a game with a friend. We wanted to support the business by buying something at the food counter. The sales guy said it was closed and acted irritated that we asked to buy something (this was at lunch time), so we ordered delivery instead. I later asked a sales person at another counter about a game module I was thinking of buying. I saw it on Amazon for sale but wanted to buy it locally. He ignored me initially because he was on the phone talking to a friend, and then acted put out once I was able to get his attention. He said he'd never heard of it and that they'd have to order it, if he could find it in his system. He obviously didn't want to be bothered with it and wanted to get back to his phone call so I didn't ask for him to look it up. I went to blow my nose later because our food was spicy. The bathroom was closed for repair but I just quickly grabbed some tissue. An employee saw me and gave me a lecture about it on the sales floor, even though I explained it was just for some tissue. I then heard, over the shelving, that same employee and another employee complaining about stupid customers not reading signs. That employee later loudly announced to us across the sales floor that the bathroom would be open a little later but not to use it until then. It was all incredibly embarrassing and I was blown away by how rude everyone there was! I've honestly never had such bad customer service. I went to the manager and complained. I'm usually willing to give people a pass, since we all have our bad days, but every single person there was rude and seemed to have no customer service skills, except for the manager. I'll never go there again, even though I usually make it a point to support local businesses. Fortunately there's a game store close by in Sugarhouse, Game Night Games, where I've had a really good experience. The store there is nice with a good selection of games, and best of all the employees there are friendly and welcoming and they are happy to chat and answer questions. It's a great place to pick up singles for Magic, Pokémon, and other TCGs, as well as a wide selection of board games. At one point I was visiting the store once or twice weekly for organized games and tournaments. However, I have decided to avoid the store because of its horrid smell due to its patrons. I am amazed at the lack of hygiene, as well as its enforcement. The scent is nothing short of putrid in the play area. Another reason why I'll take my business somewhere else when I can is because of the quality control of trading card singles. Either the staff is hoping that patrons will not notice, or they don't bother to verify the condition of the cards, but either way, YOU WILL NOT FIND NEAR MINT CARDS AT OASIS GAMES. read more

Oasis is not friendly. If you need products, there are much kinder and better priced LGS in the area such as Game Night Games, Nerd Store, and Mythos. I will update my review if there is ever a better experience. I once saw the manager completely turn down a new card community at an event that was advertised. 14 people showed up and were disappointed to hear how they were withholding Armory Kits intended to promote local events. read more

The customer service here was wonderful at first; everyone was nice, great selection of products. My mother went in and spoke with the manager Alex, and she offered to paint murals on the windows for him for free; she did this because her son, my brother, committed suicide and he always loved board games and card games, and she wanted to do something special to honor his memory. Alex agreed, and gave her money for supplies. My mother offered to do this all for free. Today my mother went in to speak with Alex about finishing the murals, which she hasn't been able to do because of the cold weather and her health. Her murals have been scraped off the windows in anger, and the employee Casey yelled at her and kept telling her to leave when she was outside on the public sidewalk. I cannot even begin to describe the hurt and disrespect that we are feeling. My mother did not deserve that treatment, no customer or any other person does. I cannot believe what has taken place. This is a horrible place to work with, and I no longer will ever shop here or tell anyone else to. This is a horrible situation. While being yelled at and scraping it off, the employee told my mother it looked like a $4 painting anyway. Absolutely outrageous. Update time. They have moved locations and are now next to Church and State on 4th South in downtown SLC. It is a larger space and they now have a coffee shop! It is a cool place to just hang out and meet other people. Bring your favorite game (I don't like Magic but I love Settlers of Catan), get some coffee, and have fun with other like minded people. Parking is also easier at this new location, but you do need to know the trick. Parking is in the back and you need to enter from 300 east near the Church and State building. Then you can conveniently use the back door to enter Oasis games. read more

The reason I leave a 3 star review because if you want cards, be ready to have that wallet ready to go because they Jack up their prices by 40% here. The premium charizard box is usually $120 but they sell them for $175? I never have seen that EVER and I go to shop way too much for my own good. The new space downtown has a good set up but parking is a pain. We arrived for a game night group meetup and the back rooms were nice but full. We staked out a table and service was overall great. The clerks are helpful and there is everything you could want if you're a magic the gathering player. There is a cafe with basic menu options and a slow but thorough barista, clean seating, clean bathrooms, and all the best tabletop games for sale. Drinks were reasonably priced, sandwich at 6$ and lots of dessert options. The store was fairly busy for a Friday night and it's nice they were open so late. read more
