Had an unpleasant experience at Oasis Laundromat on 341 Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn. It's not about the cleanliness of the place. But the efficiency of the machines and a lady who seems to have made a habit of stealing laundry. Twice now, the owner has caught this lady in the act, attempting to make off with someone else's clothes. The owner even managed to snap a picture of her in action, which is quite alarming. It's disheartening to think that you can't even do your laundry in peace without worrying about your belongings being pilfered. Also, the machines don't clean my clothes effectively. I had to wear some garments again. I appreciate the owner's vigilance in addressing the issue, but it does make you question the overall security and safety of the laundromat. Also machines not doing their only job to clean your clothes is an issue. I hope the management takes further steps to ensure that customers can feel secure with clean clothing/linens and safety. read more

Horrendous service since new owners took over. I have had two horrible experiences utilizing the wash, dry and fold service. Mind you, there was a two year gap between incidents of terrible service. I purposely waited a long period of time between usages, hoping that the new owners will get their act together within a two year period of time. Unfortunately they did not. The first incident took place within weeks of the new owners taking over. I came in with two large bags of laundry for Wash, Dry and Fold service. I had recently purchased a brand new shower curtain from target, which was bright, white and color, and I wanted to launder it before I used it in my bathroom, as I would do with any item that I purchase, I always launder it before use. Upon receiving my laundry back from the Wash, Dry and Fold service, and unpacking my laundered items. I realized that my white shower curtain had bright yellow marks, running horizontally, all over my white shower curtain. These marks were not present upon my purchasing the shower curtain, nor were they present when I placed it in my laundry bag. I returned to oasis laundromat and showed the owners who continually stated to me that it was impossible for them to have done this to my shower curtain. I asked them to please explain to me how it was impossible? This is when both owners stop being able to understand the English language and reverted to the native tongue and feigned not understanding what I was saying now. I called over one of their underlings which they employ in the laundromat. I attempted with the help of their employee to get them to honor their guarantee that they will not damage lose or destroy customers, laundry items, or else they will pay for the damage for lost items. The male owner became irate and was now yelling at me to leave the store. Which I promptly complied with, and did not return for two years time. It was my hope that in the two-year interval, they had grown to run a much better service and has become hopefully more professional towards the customers. Well, I was in for a big surprise, and not a pleasant one. I dropped off I believe seven large laundry bags that came to a Wash, Dry and Fold/ Pick-Up & Delivery's $200. I will say this much for them, they were honest about the weight of the bags, because I weighed every bag in my apartment on my own scale, and they recorded the weights of the bags accurately in the laundromat so I give them credit for that. About half of the laundry was laundered correctly. At least half of all of my white laundry. It was obvious that the sped the cycles through by pushing the button to rush the washing job. Half of my white laundry was done well and the other remaining half was so dingy. It was painfully obvious what they had done. They didn't even bother to match up the socks correctly they just haphazardly paired any sock with another sock without giving any care to color, brand or insignia. One sock was missing. I was willing to let that go, but I could not let a half assed washing job sit as is now for the worst part a pretty newly purchased Brooklinen white sheet set complete with four white pillowcases was placed in my laundry. I only received three pillowcases back, one flat sheet, one fitted sheet. Upon my eventual return to the laundromat to discuss these matters with the owner, I was met with the same unprofessional attitude. Once again, he pointed to a lost and found tiny stack of items for me to look through it took me five seconds to look through this stack and my pillowcase was not in there. He shrugged his shoulders, mumbled something incoherent, and walked away from me. I again made my exit, never to return again to this laundromat. It's sad because I began utilizing this laundromat beginning in 2012 and I use them exclusively almost throughout the years. The prior owner was a very nice man not the best businessman or manager of a laundry service, but he tried his hardest to satisfy his customers and for that I had to give him credit. In the areas and at the times that he fell short of my expectations, I always remembered how pleasant a man he was, and how hard he actually tried to always to satisfy me as a customer. It was for these reasons I always returned, even if the service fell short. But the new ownership is horrible and unprofessional don't say I didn't warn you. read more

I get it. I didn't understand how a laundromat could have a 4.5 star rating. The staff is friendly, the machines work, the clientele is just there to get their laundry done. And then there's that special unknown factor. This is the kind of place that makes you think, "someone really cares about this business." Since the renovation, more space has been made for folding and drop-off service organization, along with replacing majority of their machines. There are usually at least two people on staff and they're really good about making sure you have either a washer or dryer as is gets really busy from opening till closing. Meaning they will take your clothes out as with any laundromats, if you have an issue, pick you sh*t up on time! Washers are really cheap, small is $2 with each size incremental of $1. Drying is standard pricing, $0.25 yields 8 minutes. There are two large flat screens and movie theater seats for your enjoyment as you wait for your laundry. It's not a big laundromat, but you can tell they're trying to make the best of it. read more

Best laundromat in the hood! I typically do drop off service and they always turn it around in a day. Whether it's clothes, sheets, towels or what have you, everything turns out fresh and clean. I do find their detergent to be a bit strong in fragrance, but you can select 'free and clear' on your ticket which is a fragrance-free detergent. Prices are great; I generally don't pay more than $10 for a big load. But the best part about this place is the service. All the guys working here are so friendly, easy going, and prompt. So glad to have Oasis nearby! read more

This place is sketchy. They found money in my pants (which is great) but then they used that money to pay for the laundry service without notifying me till when I got there. It's my choice on how I want to pay for a service, not there's. And I felt that it was invasive and rude. What they should have done was when they found the money, keep it somewhere safe and not use it to their advantage on their terms. It's PRINCIPLE. And I found it disrespectful, amusing at first, but disrespectful. They have huge disorganization issue- I've dropped my stuff off there countless of times and I'm either missing something or they've tried to cover up a mistake (for example, when I gave them my rug once and they ripped through it / ruined my pillows and then stapled it back together and gave me no warning) I spoke to the owner about why they felt entitled to my money without my consent and it was met with 0 sympathy, in fact, defensiveness. DO NOT go here. I certainly will not be returning. I'm disgusted by how they go about interactions with customers who've been loyal to them for years now. read more

I live pretty close by and usually never send my laundry out. I always do it myself. My roommate sends hers out to this laundromat and always says good things so I decided to give it a try. When I got my laundry back the next day, I noticed that 5 of my socks were singles instead of in pairs...they had lost 5 socks. They also gave me 2 single socks that were not even mine. I will continue to go to this laundromat to do my laundry myself but I will never have them do it for me again in fear of more of my clothes going missing. read more

This is the greatest laundry business in the history of laundry. It may not look like anything special, but Kareem and his family really, really care. They care about their business, they care about their customers, and they care about their neighborhood. The prices cannot be beat. For the past 4 years we dropped off our laundry every other week or so, and they maybe lost a sock once. They're incredible. Your laundry comes back clean, smelling great, in timely fashion. Came here after service at bubble land went down. The location is farther for me, but totally worth it. Prices are very reasonable, the staff is friendly, and the clothes were very well folded. The detergent they use smells pretty nice too. Will be back for sure! read more

I've never taken my laundry to a service before and I could not have had a better experience here!! Staff are so nice and accommodating. I came late on a Sunday for the drop off service and normally would have had to wait til next day to get it back since I came ~4:30 (on a Sunday!) But I had my sheets in there and they made an exception for me and promised to have it done by 10 in the evening. Sure enough Laundry all came back on time, so neatly folded, with that fresh laundry smell, and all for very reasonable price! Will definitely be coming back here often. read more

Just moved into a building with no laundry for the first time, so while I cannot compare to any other laundromats, I can say that this one deserves five stars! The staff is super friendly, accommodating and helpful. The laundromat is very small/its always busy, but they always try to find me a washer, dryer or whatever it is that I need. Also, the washer/dryer prices are great too. $2 for the standard default washer size and $0.25 for 8 minutes on the dryer. Can't beat that! There are various washing machine sizes, and I think the largest one is $4.25. Quarters only. read more

They also play msnbc, so it's great to get some Rachel Maddow time in while I have to do my least favorite chore. They also have a very reasonable drop off service.
