    Fish Spread
    Sean O.

The Tween Waters Island Resort which opened in 1931 to guests such as Theodore Roosevelt has four restaurants on sight including the Oasis Pool Bar that offers local bar and grill style menu items and a larger drink list. On Wine Dine and Play I breakdown the fish spreads we taste on a scale of 1 to 6 by the quality of the presentation, the use of ingredients, flavor profiles and complexity, quality, texture, sustainability of the product, local sourcing, GMO's, and the smoke flavors either being natural or mechanical. While eating the smoked spread here at the Tween Waters Island Resort, the texture was delicate, with slightly enhanced ingredients and a nice fresh flavored taste. There was good smoke content and lower sodium hints, with the added bonus that it was a locally caught fish. I rate this spread as a... Read the full review on the Wine Dine and Play blog website

We have had good experiences in the past with this restaurant. However, when we went on Easter we…read morewere quite disappointed. I have food allergies and was very surprised that with their price fixed menu I had little to no options to enjoy alternative food options. I only got a portion of the appetizer because the rest of it had dairy that I couldn't eat. There was no substitute for the mashed potatoes in the entree so I just didn't get any. And there was nothing to substitute in the dessert so I got nothing. YET - I still had to pay the $65 fixed price for half a meal. Super disappointing.

We had very good service throughout even though they were busy. We weren't rushed. We dined leisurely but without gaps between courses. We shared a Caesar salad to start. It was a good appetizer. For my main entree, I had the lamb chops. There were two double chops perfectly cooked to my request -- crisped on the outside. They were delicious. And served over mashed potatoes with asparagus and carrots. The portion was large. My husband had the burgundy braised short ribs. The meat was tender and flavorful. He said the sauce they were in was just rich and wonderful. We were too full to try any of their desserts. As we were leaving, we both said that this restaurant is a "keeper". We wished we'd been here sooner.

The atmosphere alone is worth the trip, it will blow your mind. The service is adorable with their "bubble Scouts "giving you some history of the building and the number of floors to view once your meal is done.. so beautiful so nostalgic so fun a trip back in time. I had the McTirk ( named after Kirk Douglas and Steve, McQueen), a delicious turkey, provolone, bacon, pepper, jelly, basil, mayo, deliciousness wrap. Holy heck, it was so good!! Head on the road early so you're here right when they open up.. the traffic getting on the island can be overwhelmingly, slow, and even standing still.

The food was still amazing and the place looks the same with minor changes since the storm. The disappointment here is the front end. They hired a very childish boy as a hostess. Flamey and rude. Very dramatic and rather than trying to help people ( such as locating a restroom) he spews a very long story about where it is instead of pointing to it two feet away. He was talking and laughing about a customer when I came out. I presume me I only needed to wash my hands. He's lucky I didn't tell him off but I didn't want to let him ruin our evening and have my husband hear. He's ( Anthony) a little punk though.

The holiday drink specials were fun and tasty with different combos of alcohol and ingredients. The Dip, Dip Hurray was very good as well as the Chichen and The Egg deviled eggs. The smash burger was so good resting in Guoda sauce. The staff is friendly and fun and eager to please your tastes, they stressed that everything is prepared fresh and they can accommodate anything. One last thing that is not food/drink related is this, the bathrooms had signs that said "inclusive". I cannot stress how important and compassionate this is, especially during this time in our society. This shows that you as a company, value everyone who comes in to dine here regardless of who they are. The only negative for this place, and it really isn't a negative, is that you don't have another location in Winter Garden/Orlando Florida. If you did,we would be regulars.

Took refuge at the bar and met with Celines who provided us info on some popular sandwiches. The condiments were stuffed into used beer 6-pack cartons which was a nice custom touch that did not go unnoticed. Ordered a 3D Vagabond Hazy 6.9% and the 10 Twenty Five Double Smash Burger with caramelized onions smothered in smoked gouda cheese and a side of green onion slaw. Holy Crap, it was an easy top three burger. Hard to eat though with a constant smile on my face. The gender assigned bathroom was clean and decorated with beer company placards on the walls and cracked cement industrial flooring. Perfect addition to the rest of the pub.
