I think the waitress who sat my friend and I forgot about us. We waited about 30 minutes for the food before notifying another waiter about our situation. It then took another 10 or so minutes to finally get our food. The food itself wasn't too bad a bit pricey for the amount. There was also some live music going on with a guitarist in the background which helped with the wait. I think I would have had a fine time had my friend and I not been forgotten about. read more

Typical Forest Hills restaurant. The food was OK, but very expensive. Nothing great to say about it. If you want a Gyro, you'd be better off just go to one of the local food carts. They are much cheaper and the gyros are just as good. Can't recommend OBA. read more

Absolutely love this place. Good food, good service/nice wait staff, and good atmosphere indoor and outdoor setup. We love it so much, we came here 3 times during their 1st week of grand opening. The lentil soup is delicious, fresh, creamy, just the right thickness and not salty. I love the mixed appetizer which has several different dips and fresh hot bread to dip with. Most dishes come with fresh salad, healthier cooking then other restaurants. I also enjoyed the Turkish tea alot, little sugar, squeeze of lemon = perfect. I also tried their almond pudding, tiramisu, and baklava, all 3 are my favorites here. Baklava is crispy, lots of pistachio, and sweet but not overly sweet. The almond pudding is lighter in taste, less sweet and so refreshing and creamy. Tiramisu is very fresh, strong espresso flavor, creamy texture and just delicious. Giving 3 stars because the food is decent, but the service was terrible. The whole place was empty, so it's not like they were busy. We sat outside, and I constantly had to go inside to get the waiter's attention to ask for things. Never came around to check on us, to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything else. Never going back. read more

We go to the Metropolitan and Austin St. locations regularly and both are great. Have liked everything on the menu and their mixed grill works well for 2-3. Also great they're BYOB. read more

We went there yesterday with friends, was our first time, we ordered different stuff, me meat adana kebab, other friend gyro, another one iskender kebab, we brought our own wine (you can do that) adana was great, very juicy, cooked throughly, not burnt, we had some meze stuff, eggplant salad was great, hummus, babaghonush, tabuli likewise.. And fried calamari, very tender & crispy.. Friends loved gyro & iskender (and we exchanged some food ), waiter said they make them with lamb meat mixed, no ground meat (95% of these places use ground meat, which doesn't give same taste) Service was fast, meze stuff they brought rightaway, others in like 10-12 minutes.. There was a talented young singer & guitarist guy (that was a Saturday night) he played nice classic pop/rock songs, asked us if we wanted some particular song(s) we requested a few songs and he played them very well, which was very nice and not that common in this neighborhood.. Came to the OBA Grill on Metropolitan Ave on a Saturday night with friends. The food was delicious, service attentive, and overall the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. They even had live music, a guitarist singing and playing in the background. It was great, and the volume was just right to still encourage talking among friends. Love this place! Big fan of a Austin street location , was visiting friend on Metropolitan Avenue and was shocked when i saw a Oba Sign out there! Without even thinking a second i called my friend to meet at Oba for lunch instead of other place we planned to go to! I saw one of the girls who works at Austin street, she recognized me right away so we had a little chat! Looks like they are rotating their employees which is a very good idea because their friendly staff is a big part of their success, besides the insane food quality obviously lol Today i was in a mood for shepherds salad with feta cheese (cant go wrong with that one) and smoothly moved to oven dishes lahmacun and sausage & cheese pide! Please dont forget to order ayran (yogurt drink goes very well with heavy food) Chef who makes them also makes an amazing fresh bread which i can eat all day long just by itself! I dont know how they do it but taste of the food is exactly the same as Austin Street location! I wish they had a location in the City i would've be there every day! And of course to polish it all at the end i ordered kunefe dessert and çay (turkish tea)! Amazing experience! Cant wait to come back! See you guys soon! read more

Ate dinner at this restaurant a few weeks ago and loved it. My husband ordered the bronzini and I had the falafel platter. Large portions, fresh and delicious. Service was pleasant and attentive. This is not the first time I had take-out from them but it will probably be the last. The place was not busy at all. I placed my order for a falafel wrap and waited much longer than I was told. In hindsight, they probably forgot my order, even though I was standing right there and through garbage together. When I got home the wrap was STONE cold and the falafels were hard and stale. Wow! My advise...check your food before you leave so they don't get away with this crap. read more

They forgot to put our order in. Told us that it would be another 15 minutes. Then everything came out at different times. Ignored us the whole time we were waiting and eating. When I asked for check that's when they tried to make it better, by comping our only drink order of coffee and taking 10 percent off. The food is good. But the place still needs some work. The waitress is kind. There is no air conditioning inside. So even though it's super hot outside, it's even hotter inside. And it's dead quiet inside and outside. No background music? Some Mediterranean music would be nice. read more

I ordered calf liver with a side of rice today, i ate the food and immediately began feeling sick! 15 mins later i couldn't stop throwing up and having diarrhea. I called the restaurant to inform them and all they can tell me was "feel better,sorry". NEVER AGAIN read more
