Downtown Erie sushi restaurant serving up acceptable basic sushi. This tiny establishment does a good job on presentation and seemingly serves up adequate cuts of sushi. No thrills here of different tuna cuts or other fishes outside the normal few here. Don't get me wrong, this place is appreciated and a nice addition to the downtown Erie scene.

Amazing sushi spot on State St! I've returned to this restaurant just about three times in the past week as their hamachi jalepeno and summer night roll are soo tasty. I tried some other rolls to-go but they don't compare. The service is very nice in returning to the table. It's a very cute atmosphere on the inside with some clean seating. There's funky music playing that really adds to a bright and positive vibe!

This tiny sushi spot is worth checking out if you are in Erie downtown area. Oba offers variety of creative sushi dishes that feature fresh ingredients. Tried their special sushi roll with salmon sashimi, it was delicious. They offer dine-in, takeout and delivery. There are about 20 seatings so there might be a wait if you come in during lunch or dinner rush. The place is newly renovated and clean. The staffs are nice and friendly Definitely recommend this place

Best sushi in Erie! The presentation is beautiful, the signature rolls are creative, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. Service was quick and attentive, and the food came out at a good pace -- truly not much more you can ask for. I'm really excited to have a spot like this in Erie. We ordered a variety of rolls and ended up debating which one was the best. The Salmon Avocado and the Oba Special ultimately came out on top -- super fresh, flavorful, and really well done. We also tried the Salmon Crunch and the Tuna Crunch, which were both solid choices and definitely worth ordering. Also tried their mochi for dessert, and that was a hit too -- a nice way to end the meal. Overall, such a great addition to the Erie food scene. I'll definitely be back!

That said, I will tell you it's easily the best tasting affordable option for sushi and general Asian fusion cuisine. Out of anywhere in Erie you can get all you can eat sushi, and they are few and far between, this place takes the cake for both price and quality. The service is fantastic, never had a complaint to make, and the vibe of the restaurant is very comfortable and relaxed. If you get the chance, go for lunch. The dinner selection for the all you can eat is much larger, but the lunch is cheaper. Like, 35 bucks for two people give or take, and the food is still just as good. I do miss the eel from dinner though. I go here frequently for a reason. It's just good, all around, so it gets five stars.

The main dishes are very flavorful...sometimes a bit aggressive with the long cut scallion and zucchini but I can't complain about that. The sushi is fresh and has the basics. No specialty rolls on the menu for the all you can eat which I understand. Service is always quality and the food is consistent. Nice portion sizes to be able to order a little of everything

We got a smorgasbord of stuff (of which items I can't even recall right now, but at least one entree salad and drinks), all of which was excellent. Even our picky daughter enjoyed herself. Solid 5 stars! Today, on my way through town on a work trip, I figured I'd stop in to replicate the magic. I opted for the short rib grilled cheese and subbed out the fries for the side of Brussels sprouts. After ordering, the food was out in about 10 minutes flat. Not a reassuring sign out of the gate... The grilled cheese was supposed to have caramelized onions. Now, I'm NOT a raw onion fan, but I can generally tolerate caramelized or fried onion strings on stuff. As you can see in the photo, the onions are NOWHERE near the color they should be to be caramelized. Sauteed? Sure, but they still had a good amount of crunch to them so not even that deeply cooked. Most of the onion leaves were still connected at the root. Also (and fortunately for me and my onion-loving self), the other half had maybe 2 very tiny pieces of onion. The short rib was done quite well and very tender but came in large chunks instead of being evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. There were also a couple rather large pieces of fat in them that was just too much to try and chew through that I had to spit out. The server was very upbeat and kind though and the inside of the place is amazing. Such a cool vibe. Overall, that's one amazing experience and one less than stellar. Being a mid-week lunch, I'm going to assume the A team wasn't on staff so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. I'll definitely come back for dinner another time for sure but I might look elsewhere for my lunch...
