At best it is a stopover for those running late for Ocean City. I guess it is a college town as well. Surprisingly, there is a small faction of social outcasts that turned up in Salisbury and man what a group of cool people they are. They do things like piercing and tattooing and partying...They are exactly what the Bible thumpers on DelMarVa need, people to bring this this left behind part of the US in to the modern age. Crucial Tattoo had just finished remodeling when I had moved there, so I couldn't tell you what the old one was like. The shop takes up two units of the building they are in. The front of the house has the standard sampling of the artists tattoo's, magazines for inspiration, really comfortable couches just in case you have to wait for your artist to get to you, fashionable clothing for people who like tattoo's, and body jewelry. One of the cases has some old masks that came from the orient, which are awesome...it is too bad they aren't for sale. That back of the house is where all the magic happens. There is a room for piercing, and a few chairs for tattooing. Everything is clean. All the artists use disinfecting cleaner, gloves, and autoclaves. Usually the artist and the customer are the only people allowed in the back. Once in awhile the owners like to have special days for frequent and favorite customers. Usually a small selection of appetizers and finger food and a good amount of socializing...plus good deals on tattoo's by talented artists. I highly recommend Casey O and Erik from personal experience.

The staff was incredibly friendly and they are very diligent in their informative videos for after piercing care. They have a number you can text with questions at any time. My daughter didn't cry or complain at all during the piercing. She said she barely felt it. Rather than a punch gun like places in the mall, they use sterile needles which are much less painful. Her ears didn't bleed barely at all and they felt completely back to normal within a few days. Definitely recommended.

Because Codi had extra time, she also helped me make a jewelry switch for an old conch piercing since my old bar was way too long than it needed to be. Tabby (the sweet lady at the front desk) was also very helpful in talking me through what a daith was going to feel like, making the experience much smoother. Overall, I couldn't recommend this place enough. I have gotten a cartilage piercing before, but they didn't take the time and effort and care to explain what to expect before, during, and after the appointment. Apparently the owner was about to close the store, but a girl who came in infront of me wanted a piercing and I came in right after her. No problem at all. Tommy was able to do my piercing. I got a Rook and he answered all of my questions and was patient with me as he prepared for the piercing. $60 for all piercings. ($40 for the piercing, $10 for the jewlery and $10 for the after care) I paid with a debit card and left with some cleaning solution. He does walk in piercings on Fridays ONLY. All other days are by appointment as his shop does a lot of tattoos. Almost a week later, and I'm satisfied with the outcome!

We exchanged phone numbers so we could exchange ideas and talk about details for the tattoo. And when Sunday came I texted her I was on the way and asked if she does discounts because my family has been there and has gotten tattoos from that place. She said,"No discounts, sorry. They don't get discounts, they've paid what the artists asks when they come and they are respectful about that. I put a lot of care into my pricing to reflect my experience, the quality of my work, and the time I dedicate to each piece. I understand if it's not the right fit for you right now, but I want to make sure I'm working with clients who fully align with and respect my process. I'm unfortunately no longer interested in doing this tattoo for you." I was already half way there to the place which was a an hour and 30 drive and she canceled on me. I was very excited for this tattoo and was willing to pay almost 1,000 dollars for a simple arm tattoo. This was going to be my second tattoo and I had wished it was a better experience. My family is not going back there.
