I confess... I am a sucker for beautiful leather - the look, the feel, the SMELL! I walk into a store and not ashamed to admit, I inhale deeply. Don't care who sees me. So when a client came into the office recently and someone noticed her beautiful hair clip, she started pulling out other pieces from this leather design company: wallet, iPhone case, plus the metal hair clip and she mentioned a couple other things at home, as I recall. Just gorgeous artwork in both the Britannia metal (slightly different percentages of tin, antimony and copper than found in pewter) and the hand-tooled leather. I knew eventually I'd be doing some shopping at Oberon Design with a couple more paychecks in the bank! This client called herself a walking advertisement for OD. I think I might be overtaking her on that score with my new wallet and card case (both in the Celtic Hounds pattern, wine color), a checkbook cover in the red Hummingbirds pattern (it was listed as a discounted item because of a flaw - too much wrinkling on the spine - speaks to their high standards. People think I'm fussy!) and a Celtic braided leather bracelet in tan color. The bracelet is my second one, the black one was my first buy. ;) Things like the jewellery, hair clips, and smaller leather items are reasonable for most budgets. The larger leather goods (such as notebooks/journals, iPad covers, tote bags, etc.) are more expensive, but they are investment pieces and will last for years if properly cared for. I think for hand-crafted, portable works of art, they're an excellent buy and I see myself getting something else down the road. The budget is getting a well-earned rest for a bit. They do have weekly sales on themed items, whether it's a holiday/event, or particular pattern. Right now they have a special for Father's Day. So check their website or FaceBook page regularly if there's something you like. OD Customer Service is top notch. They are quick to respond to e-mail questions and orders ship out within a few days; remarkable for custom-made items. They sent an e-mail update to let me know when my order shipped and a tracking number. Picture I posted shows the simple, but elegant wrapping of each item, and a thank you card with a free Britannia metal charm. Tucked in the wallet were some extra business cards to share. I can do that! Oh, and has anyone who knows me noticed the initials "OD" might have another connection... as in a loveable Rottie named Odie? LOL Meant to be! read more

I have two items from Oberon Design and I'm in love. Hands down the nicest leather out there for the price, and the most beautiful and unique. I have an ipad cover....and I liked it so well I ordered a wristlet. And my husband now even wants an ipad cover and a wallet from them. The company is great about answering questions and are very helpful. As far as another reviewer talking about color....you have to make sure you click the correct color when you order....and it is clear on the website that the exact shade of the leather may vary slightly per dye lot. The color of the products looks even better in person than online though, so I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed in the least. read more

I was browsing the internet a week or so ago, looking for a new cover for my Nook Color since the one that I received for Christmas was starting to get a little beat up. I bought a tooled leather iPhone 5/5S case from here. It was beautiful. BUT, the case was not compatible with most things I tried plugging into it. The hole for the headphone jack is only big enough to fit the current generation earbuds. Older gen earbuds won't fit, beats headphones won't fit, nearly any other 3.5 mm audio cable will not fit. Also forget about docking your phone in the case. Any lightning cable dock or adapter will not fit. This is basic stuff people. Please do some basic compatibility testing on your products. read more

Oberon design items are beautiful crafted and well made. But if you are looking for a specific color forget it. Slight color difference does not come close to describing how difference the color is. I wanted a blue ipad cover but could not find one I like so I order one from oberon. The color does not come close to blue it is teal that leans to the green side. When I called about it they offer to exchange it for another color if I wanted another color I would have ordered another color. I wanted blue got teal for the price of their items the color should be correct. Don't buy if you want a specific color read more

I finally recieved my Nook. I had been drooling for it since forever. I actually had my cover chosen before I got the Nook. So when I did receive the Nook, the first thing I did was order my cover from Oberon. I must have changed my mind a dozen times before I finally chose the beautiful celestial/Copernicus cover.
