I wasn't able to take him in to a vet as he was unable to get into the car. I was lucky to find Dr. Richardson, of The Traveling Vet in Hilliard, which was close to me. He came and examined Bailey, weighed him, gave him a needed rabies shot and trimmed his nails. All this for a very low cost, I would say. The day came when Bailey fell ill, became dizzy and lost his balance, and then later lost the use of his hind legs. I had to face putting him down, my companion of 14 years. Dr. Richardson was able to come to my home and perform this, and it was very peaceful and humane in how it was done. He was also able to take my Bailey with him for cremation that was done in the city by a reputable company, and Bailey was placed in a beautiful wooden box with his name on a gold plate. I thank Dr. Richardson for his kind and gentle ways, and for his compassion for animals at a difficult time as this was.

During our initial contact while I was sobbing on the phone, they were extraordinarily patient in obtaining our information and setting up the appointment. Our assigned vet, Dr. Nellie, was amazingly gentle and took us step by step through the process. Being able to say good-bye to our beloved cat at home was so much easier on us than having to transport her in her cage to the vet's where she would be in a cold room and we would have to go back to an empty house. We were able to sit in her favorite chair and hold her while she looked out the window. While we waited for the medication to send her off, Dr. Nellie clip tufts of fur and took an impression of her pawprint for us to keep. When our sweet baby was gone, Dr. Nellie brought in a wicker basket covered in blankets and helped us transfer our sweet girl amid the blankets before taking her to be cremated. I can't say enough about this wonderful place. I know they also provide pet hospice services for animals who are terminally ill, but not at the end of life. I highly recommend them.

There was a question about his Simparica Trio so they reached out to me for clarification. Then one of their volunteers came to my house to make sure it passed the dog friendly test. We had a visit with the dog we ended up adopting. It was all very thorough and I couldn't be more pleased with the whole process. They know their foster dog went to a loving home and I felt good knowing they wouldn't adopt out if it wasn't the right fit. This rescue is all volunteers who just want to find good homes for unhoused dogs.
